    Daily Menus for Maintenance

Mr. F has lost about 70lbs in a combo between lchf (low carb healthy fat) and IF/OMAD. He does TRE by virtue of only eating OMAD M-F. His T2 has improved a lot. But lately we've had lots of business/social events and he's regained about 10lbs so it's time to get back on the WLWagon. I try to stay between 56-70 g of protein loosely. It will fluctuate daily. I like to average around 60-65g cuz I feel like that's the sweet spot for me. My albumin and pre-albumin levels look really good at that range. When I'm higher 75-90g, I notice that my blood sugars are higher, I'm snackier, I feel like my insulin gets elevated again and the pain starts (also lymphedema gets worse). It's taken a while to figure this out. But it's very real. Also, I start getting more mucus/asthma symptoms. So weird. It is normal. It's also high end normal. At my due weight in kg (120/2.2lbs-kg) X 0.8 to 1.2g/kg, I only really need about 44g of protein - 65g of protein per day. (Remember, I'm not super active...)
  2. I'm getting "the band" back together! Doing an IF week this week with my complicated ADF routine EOD and an 18:6 TRE thrown in for razzle dazzle. Mr. F. is gonna get in on the action too. Woooohoooo! He's been doing OMAD and has dropped 7lbs in the last 2 weeks, but wants to see if he can turbo charge it with the ADF with caloric restriction. I'm so proud of him. So I thought I would do it too since I haven't been doing any IF lately. After a big weekend of food and a big week of food last week, I'm actually looking forward to today and taking a break. I'll shoot for eating sometime between 3 and 4pm then we'll have a simple light dinner around 7pm. Then that's it lights out til tomorrow! Here are my beginning stats: Maintenance: 5'4" | 57y | F | 20mo PO RNY | 131.8lbs | 18:6 | Goal 500cals | <20g protein | <50g carbs from veggies/berries

    Daily Menus for Maintenance

Sunday, November 17 Maintenance: 5'4", 57y, F, 20mo PO RNY, 131.8lbs Mr. F. felt bad yesterday so he got to choose dinner, which was of course, steak. LOL. So my planned foil fish will get eaten tonight for dins. After a weekend of heavy heavy eatin', I'm ready to do this week with Mr. F. We're gonna do my old flame week of ADF with calorie restriction to 500cals EOD. It really kills inflammation and I've been having killer hip and back pain lately. So I'm hoping it will help with that and will also help Mr. F. drop a few pounds that have crept back on his frame. I'm actually looking forward to today and to not eating until 3pm (also doing TRE 18:6 with the ADF). Tomorrow will be a regular weekly M-Th day for me and closer to the 850calorie range. Although we didn't have shananigans yesterday, I managed to pack away the food and the cals/macros! I've been consistently over-eating protein lately, and think that may be one of the sources of inflammation. So we'll see! B1-Avocado Chaffle with Poached Egg & 2% Cheddar + Bacon L-Green Soup with Veggies & Shrimp + Poached Egg Whites (1/2 recip) AS-Baby Carrots & Cucumber D-Grilled Steak + Loaded Garlic Broccoli + Avocado Slices BS-Almonds + Lindt Dark Chocolate Totals: 1143 Calories; 82g protein; 69g fat; 52g carbs; 19g Fiber; 33g net carbs

Are these your adorable egg bites that you're talking about? I want an instapot so bad. Do you have a pic of the molds? TY!

Here you go. Divide the mozzarella shreds. Put half in the chaffle mixture and half of it is used to make the chaffle. Let me see if I can find her video. Here's her link to the method of preparation. You can do a youtube search and watch her demo the recipe.

Yeah. I tried it that way first but thought it was very eggy and just meh. I like my psylli version with the egg whites. Tastes very much like bread. Plus each chaffle is only 54 cals.
  9. Oh wow! Girl! Great thread!!! I can't wait to play. Your quiche and egg bites look AHHHH-may-zing!!! I don't really "meal prep" but it's so strange how we always have extras to be frozen. LOL. Right now I have frozen: green chile with pork red chile with turkey and venison gumbo - chicken and venison/pork sausage tuscan soup - chicken with cauliflower grilled chicken strips grilled beef fajita meat meatballs and sauce tamales (for splurging at Christmas from last Christmas) LOL. I'm making foil wrapped basa filets for dinner. Will try to take a pic. You can make multiple seasonings with it and store them for a few days. It reheats well and is super low cal/low carb/low fat.

You know, I had one for years and never used it. As we were moving 4 years ago, I put it out for the recycle bin. And didn't have one til the chaffle craze hit. Now I only have my new little Dash but will look for a big one in the thrift stores for $5 or $10 bucks. It's well worth it cuz these taste incredibly like crisp bread (toast) with crevices for "things" to sink in. If i was eating mayo these days, I'd go cray for these. But the avocado was perfect as are the nut butters or even cream cheese or cinnamon bun cream cheese, etc.

Yes. I keep my hot tea and hot coffee on it all day. Also great to keep my broths warm!

You can make these in a normal size waffle maker. Just put 1/4 of the batter in the center of it and press it down. The will make a cute little round shape. It doesn't spread cuz the batter is very thick. Have fun watching TV!!! (It was seriously honking good and 2 hours later I'm still full. Miracle.

Saturday November 16, 57 F 20mo PO RNY, Maintenance 131.4lbs It was Saturday Shenanigans day and date day. We did our walking and worked in storage for a few hours moving boxes. Yes, I think it will hold up in a stir fry, just make sure it's the last thing added and toss gently. The texture is almost like a japanese omelette. Very delicate and silky.

    Screwed Today = 1st Thanksgiving -

Also, here's the cauliflower recipe. I now switch out the heavy cream for a little fat free fairlife milk, drop the olive oil and use a couple of olive oil sprays to roast the garlic, and use neufchatel cheese to replace cream cheese. I dropped it down to 1 tbsp and add 1tbsp greek fat free yogurt. It's much lighter. You can also thin it down with stock, but the ff milk is easier. https://fluffychixcook.com/roasted-mashed-cauliflower-aka-roasted-smashed-fauxtatoes/ (and of course leave off the gobs of butter melting on top--this is creamed gravy to go with the low carb chicken fried steak)

This is pretty dang good. You can add pumpkin to it and make it into a pumpkin version. https://fluffychixcook.com/impossible-eggnog-blender-pie-low-carb-gluten-sugar-free-magic/ Here's one from Elana's Pantry. I love her stuff. https://elanaspantry.com/vegan-pumpkin-pie/

Bahahaahaha! True so true!!! Hang in there and just power through it. And remember, eat turkey. But you could also roast cauliflower with a light mist of olive oil, then blend in Cuisinart with 1 oz neufchatel cheese and ff mootopia or ff fairlife, then stir in 1 spoon of greek yogurt, s/p, roasted garlic is good in it too. I thin to consistency of mashed potatoes with the warmed fairlife milk. So good, doesn't leave you heavy or bloated.

    Daily Menus for Maintenance

PP? Premier Protein. Oh and sorry. No, it's just chocolate PP with SF Torani Peppermint Syrup and B&C PP with SF Torani Pumpkin Pie Spice. I buy 2 bottles of each per year at World Market when they have them (right now). And they have to last me. LOL. Cuz generally I stay away from the SF devil and sucralose. But hey, I'm a mid-hedonist and sometimes better living through chemistry. AND TDF! Seriously delicious.

Damn. Complete fomo. Right up to the runs part. ((hugs)) So worth it though. Right? Am I right? LOL. LOVE KB. Totes worth smelling like a meatsicle.

    Pre-op cheating??

First and foremost you have to treat your lows being a T1! ((hugs)) I'm sure you know just how much you have to eat to bring your sugars up x amount? I have reactive hypo and wake with lows in the mid-30s to mid-40s. I now have a rescue packet beside my bed that includes: blood sugar meter glucose chewable tablets glucose gummies 6oz orange juice nut butter nuts I always follow what ever glucose I need with the nuts or nut butter once my bg starts to rise (after about 30minutes of the glucose dose). That way my spike is minimized to bringing glucose back into the 80s. I find that 1-2 wafers or 2-3 gummies will get it done. That way I minimize damage. Can you rig something like that up for the future? I wouldn't worry about what you've had to do to keep out of hypo-land. You're doing your very best and I am betting that you will be in good shape when you hit the OR. Just keep following the plan. I know it's scary dealing with all of this and I hope you see an improvement in your T1 with the surgery!!
