I was addressing her comments about "feeling fat". And I have days like that. It doesn't mean it's disordered thoughts or behaviors. It means I'm retaining fluid and so I do go back to IF with my low low days filled with lots of low cal food. The bloat leaves, I get some added bonus of autophagy, pain levels decrease, asthma symptoms improve. I'm back down in the range I'm comfy in and then it's life as usual. That what motivated my advice to her...so she would feel more confident in her body and her dress. I agree she doesn't need to lose weight---she looks smokin hot right now. But how we feel inside our body is often quite different. And her hubs comment was totally BS. (And no offense meant or taken. )

Awwwww I'm so sorry you had a sucky no sleep night, but so glad you have your group of friends and that you are all there for each other! LOL on being the hostess with the mostest! I think you should post your 11-7 shenanigans and say to hell with it. This is your thread hon! Do what you feel comfortable with. No judgements here!

Yikes on the foot hon! ((hugs)) Ok, I have a solution to your psyllium oj mix: Get some Lipton brand decaff Apple Spice Tea bags. Make a big pitcher using decaff tea bags and 2 of those bags. Then put it in the fridge. Then dissolve psyllium in a big glass of that tea. Sweeten with liquid vanilla stevia. No carbs. No cals other than the psyllium fiber. I use whole psyllium husks too. I actually love drinking it.

Had a good day yesterday. I ended up eating at my "normal" day level for M-Thursday. LOL. I do this cuz it's my way of doing maintenance. I know each weekend I will likely put on 1-3lbs. Not that I eat poorly, but I eat more high calorie food and probably have more carbs. So then I do the Dr. Fung shuffle at the top of the week to get it back off. It works so far and when it stops working, then it's time to shift to a new plan. Today with be an ADF DD for me. Tuesday November 20, 57 F 20mo PO RNY, Maintenance 131.8lbs B-Protein Lattes (4oz PP) L-1 1/2cups chopped salad + 1/2c tuna salad + 1c bouillon AS-1 cup bouillon + cucumber and baby carrots D-grilled shrimp + chickie boob + steamed broccoli + 1/2 caesar no croutons + 1 caprese stack + pelligrino BS-almonds + 1 square Lindt 90% chocolate Daily Totals: 789 cals; 63g protein; 41g fat; 37g carbs; 9g fiber; 28g net carbs

Overwhelming wins and losses

Agree a meeeeellllllioooon times! -
It's normal at 4 weeks to have food apathy or aversion. You do not need extra crap food that lights up your pleasure (munchie) center. You got this surgery to lose weight, to lose weight quickly, to lose weight with the least amount of pain/inconvenience of your life. Lose weight the easiest it will ever be in your life. Don't screw it up with crap slider foods that offer no nutritional payout except to make you hungrier. Embrace the nothing sounds or tastes good. Go without. We can all stand to skip a meal or two. I assure you, when you're hungry enough, that protein drink or yogurt will do you just fine.

Overwhelming wins and losses

Wow so much great stuff in this post! Thank you for sharing a part of yourself and sharing your journey with us. This is a safe space to do that and we have a caring group of friends here. This quote really resonates with me. There are so many people who share this feeling!!! We all need to band together when the holidays (and family) get too much to bear and come here to share and support!!! Glad you're here hon and glad you are processing the new you. It's not easy doing the head work. It really isn't. And huge proppahs on the size 6 Levis! Wooot! -
I your new avi!!!! TY for making me smile each time I look up and see a post from you!!!
-
So agree that we all should adapt to our personal needs!! I think you're doing so great and I feel like you fit in here very well. I'm glad you're here participating!! And I like watching your journey. I do think it's important to share our journeys, even as outliers, cuz you never know when someone is walking a mile in your boots. You know? In all my years, until you, I'd never met anyone else with adrenal hyperplasia. ((hugs))
-
Ok, so as much as I love all of your outfits, that first outfit is completely adorable. You look about the size of a matchstick with AWESOME proportions!! So dang cute and smart!!! Love the second one as well, and the shoes!!!! OMG. Love the Christmas bell collar! Everyone scored this weekend!!!
-
I was dx'd with adrenal hyperplasia too. I didn't take the decadron either. I knew that way was death for me. So I went without and it was pretty hellish. Pre-surgery, I had to be down <800cals to lose. Post surgery the same. The difference is that the surgery helped my body defend a lower weight without feeling like I was starving all the time on 600-800 cals per day. So I was finally able to lose. I do understand your difficulties. We're both outliers. Thankfully, there are others who have different experiences with protein and their post op diets!!!

Surgery Day! and beyond: Part 2

Stay on toop of your pain. Take them on a schedule even if you feel you could skip one. -
Thank you! I feel much better about it now! I don't know why I was obsessed with wanting to wear this cardigan! LOL. I think I was channelling my inner @sillykitty with the animal print, but I know my tshirts are limited. They are all too big right now. (Great problem to have I know... ha)!
-
Yes agree with @Darktowerdream! Try switching things up! Vary the temp of your water, try ice chips and popsicles. See if you can get liquids to stay down. Vary the thickness of your protein drinks, the type of protein, the temperature. I love thinning them down with decaff coffee or tea. To this day, room temp or warm liquids go down much easier and quicker for me than cold ones. You def have an ER trip if you can't get the clear liquids to stay down.

I changed the belt and added a necklace and bracelets. I wish I had a lower neckline tshirt or a turtleneck. I think it's better? I don't, need to spend quality time with Amazon. But I think adding the accessories helped detract from the stark difference in the neckline. Right?
-
Ok, dinner with friends tonight. I'm thinking this tshirt doesn't go with this sweater? Yes or no?

Surgery Day! and beyond: Part 2
FluffyChix replied to mousecat88's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Ditto!!! -
Exactly!!! I got tired of my measuring cups being in the dishwasher when I really needed em, and was sick of hand washing. So these are quick to rinse and wipe down with a soapy rag and done baby!! Plus, once I save a meal with it, I don't have to use em again, cuz I know what weight of each thing fit. So no more measuring by volume for a basic chopped salad with those ingredients. Just plop a plate or bowl on the scale and weigh it and tare like a mofo.

Problem digesting meat?
FluffyChix replied to Joyfuljourney's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, as @lvidacovich said, the only time I had issues with meat was when it was too fatty. Sorry you're dealing with that. -
We're all so different. Each of us has our own unique experience with restriction. I never really felt restricted from liquids until I started "water loading" about 6 months out from surgery. Then I finally felt fullness from drinking quickly. If I sip though, it goes right through without registering that I'm full. Doesn't matter if it's water, or protein drinks, or cream soups.
