    Food Before and After Photos

I heart questions like this! I too face a dilemma of this. I can easily eat a small regular side salad with lots of diff watery crisp veggies. And I can eat 2-3oz of protein. But the question is, should I? Does it really do any damage if I'm kinda "wide open?" Or is it just an opportunity to get in lots of healthy vits and mins from the veg!?! Will be interested in hearing everyone's opinion and advice girlie!!! (Also, I've been making a big salad like that and at the meal I will eat almost all the protein first. Then will eat about 1/2 the salad. I put it away until mid-afternoon snack time when I feel peckish around 4pm. I then eat the rest of the salad and tiny bit of protein that's left.) AND BTW!!! That big ass salad looks AHHHHHH-MAY-ZING!!! I need it, STAT!!! Like, Get. IN. MAH. BELLEH!!!!!

    My Plastic Surgery Thread

TY! I couldn't remember if you had a lift or the twins or not! I knew you were having the implants and the LBL and that you had decided not to do the thighs/butt. Did he lipo anywhere? Has he commented on things like how little fat you have under your skin, etc? Did he say how much the skin weighed or how little fat was left in the tummy pooch you hated? (Um, inquiring minds and all. hehe.)

    The Maintenance Thread

Hope you like it. I love it and still fall back on it. It really cured my asthma and helped my chronic pain and inflammation! And I find it's very easy to do 500cals per day. The real challenge comes once you are used to it, in getting enough cals on the UP days that you keep your metabolism stoked.

Yes exactly. I do that all the time! In fact it's super helpful as ADF. You should get this book. This is the one that started it all for me. He was one of the first ones to come out with it. The Alternate Day Diet

Wow! What a load!!! So sorry to hear this but ecstatic about the no Barrett's part!!! I have no doubts you are gonna figure this out!!!! So glad you're having more tests and will be working with your new holistic health doc!!! Yay!!!!
  7. I hear ya!!!! It is SO hard!!!! One thing that helps me is that M-Thurs I try really hard to just make those days TCB days. That means back to basics of the FD and exercise. Like a normal week. I try to eat as skinny as possible. Then on Friday I make the early part of the day as good as possible. Then Fri-Sun night I have fun. I try to negotiaate having some "good meals" or skipping a meal so that at dinner I can just relax and have fun. So far it's working. But I suspect the holiday lattes I've allowed back into my life are spiking my blood sugar and putting me on a rollercoaster with carb/sugar cravings and craving protein like a mofo. So my cals are up up and away!

    1 year post op

It is hard. And it's SUPER hard when you compare--it's also human. When I was in WLM, I was losing SO SLOWLY in comparison to everyone else around me. And the last 20lbs took as much time to lose as all the other initial weight. I think a 120lb loss is phenomenal so please give yourself proppahs for an amazing journey well done!! I also understand having a laser focus and being wigged out when the scale is up rather than down! Please stick around and post a lot here so you can get involved and we can all work to support each other. Especially during the crazy craving holiday season! Also, please go fill out your profile so we can see where you started, how old you are, when your surgery was, what kind of surgery, how tall you are, and even a ticker in your signature! Do you plan, weigh and measure your food? What is your daily food intake look like. Are you drinking any alcohol or caloric beverages, eating protein bars, having a lot of protein drinks? Hang in there! It IS hard!!!

I think this might be a fun topic

Ha! Context is everything, right? I read it as 2 to 3 meatballs.
  10. Can't wait to hear what your RD says about forever macros!!! So excited to hear it! Glad you slept in, you're gonna need it when you go back to work! And WTG on standing firm against the head cravings and detox!! You have tremendous WILL girl and focus. I'm seriously inspired by you. You've done so well. Congrats on goal, btw and on maintaining the perimeters!!! Sugar detox is a b***h! I woke up this morning fiercely determined to do an 18:6--no shenanigans! (I'm up 1.2lbs from yesterday--which I expected and is totes norm. I probably have that much in poop! LOL!) But I started the day with 2cups of autophagy tea (grn tea + earl grey + acv + lemon). I LOVE this stuff! And now I'm doing 1 cup of decaff with cinnamon (to reduce insulin spikes) + Miralax. Then will switch to decaff unsweetened black with cinnamon for another couple. Then water like a crazy person in the desert.
  11. I love how you are controlling your defended zone! And isn't that the beauty of IF? It's like Dr. Fung, Longo and Pell talk about that we can do IF 1 time per month or quarter for a day or week, etc. and then go back to our normal diets but it's a chance to do internal housekeeping!! Happy 200 pages! Gosh I didn't even see it till you said it. So much good stuff here from everyone!!! I love this thread. Yay and glad you can come play in IF again!!! Let's shoot for 300!!!
  12. Welcome back! Congrats! I've missed you and glad you had so much fun and were able to let yourself cut loose and eat, drink and be merry. Also super stoked you are able to jump back into TCB!!!! Wooohoooo! Now THAT's what I'm tawkin' 'bout!!! I had a miserable fail yesterday with IF. LOL. Caved by lunch time then was hungry heifer all day for protein. Something weird is going on about the protein cravings. If they continue, I'm gonna be forced to check in with the doc. But I have my live support group on Saturday and plan on asking my RD about them. Am trying for an 18:6 today. At this point the head hunger is fierce, but I'm choosing to be stronger. Karate Man don't feel no pain! Have a great time at pilates!!!

    Weight Gain

Totes norm. Weight loss on a graph is a spikey downward trending stairstep. Here's my graph from the first year: Here's mine from this year.
  14. ^^^ Third both of these! Deep low carb is the way to go to ditch sweet cravings and bread cravings. IMHO. As for water, you gotta do what you gotta do. Seriously, water is non-negotiable and it also helps get you through cravings and head hunger. If you pound a bottle of water, the hunger goes away cuz your pouch is filled up. Try to find something that works. I'd seriously avoid water drops cuz it keeps the sweet message/craving turned on. Try weak decaff tea? Try infusing water with berries (don't crush them) or citrus zest, or cucumber and mint? Try different temps. Add a slice of citrus to it. Do ANYTHING you can to learn to tolerate it. It will also help you lose weight.

Yay @sillykitty!!!! Welcome to "Hooterville" on the Flat Belleh Express!!!!!! Wahhhhoooooo! Use that phentanyl like there's no tomorrow!!! I second the who coughing and tummy pillow! It was my salvation! So so so so glad things went well! I hope you will be happy with the twins once the swelling resides a bit and you're able to see your new svelte shape!!!! ((hugs)) And do what the docs, nurses, and Mom tell ya!!

    Food Before and After Photos

hahaha fake cheese aka 2% reduced fat cheese that "my friend" claims is not real cheese. This was Longhorn cheddar and I had a couple of risky moments after eating it where body thought it wanted to rebel, but I spanked it into submission and ended up getting past it. LOL.

Did you try them with the yeast and egg whites rather than the whole egg and yellow cheese? I do part skim mozza and I swear it's pretty crunchy toast like or very real sweet waffle when I do sweetened.

    Food Before and After Photos

Yeah, it's kinda more like "needing" to know if there are any new inventions/lc foods that give new results. I thought holy hell, it's a new thing. Must learn all new things. ROFL. Cuz even though I could have 1-2 chaffles per day, I run in streaks and for the past couple of weeks, I'm like, "Meh. I don't need one." And I eat whatevs and am done. Easy button stuff.
  25. It's super simple! Just 6-8oz decaff + 1oz PP (measure in the medi cups they gave us after surgery to sip our water out of!) + now 1/2oz of SF Torani Syrup (holiday only). Here are the combos I love: Decaf + PP Chocolate + SF Torani Pumpkin Pie Syrup + Cinnamon Decaf + PP Bananas & Cream + SF Torani Pumpkin Pie Syrup + Cinnamon Decaf + PP Chocolate + SF Torani Peppermint Syrup Good for you for doing lunch and then nothin else!!! You can get things back in control. It starts with the decision to take your power back!!
