    Plastics or no plastics ?

bahahahaha! I remember that feeling/look! I felt like I could basically roll them up like you would tube socks! *snort* I kinda "accordion folded" them into my bra like a slinky! Now after my double mastectomy and recon, I long for my old squishy familiar breasts. My mannequin foobs (without nips) stand straight at attention, no matter the position, restraints, time of day...I could basically fly through the air on a trapeze and these babies ain't budgin' por nada! LOL. Ahhhh as Richard Marx sang, "Hold on to the night. Hold onto the mammaries!"

    Electronic weight loss program recommendations?

I'm loving My Fitness Pal because it's low tech enough for me to understand and use it daily. I also like that once I got my food preferences loaded and hit Remember Meal, etc, I rarely have to input new foods or custom foods. So it's very quick and convenient to load a day of food and know that I'm fairly close to hitting macro goals. It sinks to other activity programs but I have an old iPhone so don't ask it to do that which is over my head anyway.

Thanks for the support everyone!! I so appreciate each one of you!! I hesitated to even make this post, cuz we all have our milestones and struggles, but dayum. After 89days I felt like I continually pushed the rock uphill all day every day! LOL! Hopefully I'll get to enjoy the 220 decade for a while before I bounce back up in my usually up-tick after a loss!

Girl! Low D can make you feel like you've taken a beating! Mine was 9. It's now 29 or 39 I think? They said it's "fine" but to keep supplementing with 2000iu/day of D3. But it took forevs to come up! I felt bad bone/muscle pain like the flu.

Oh wow! I'd no idea that coffee and tea could do that. I too drink 3-4c of decaff a day + iced tea. :-/ Wah wah wannnnhhhh. Glad the Bsupps are working. It's amazing how different it feels to have Bs working doesn't it? I guess they're gonna recheck the B1 at my next appt with the PCP in Feb. *scratches head* Hopefully won't need injections!

RAVE!!! So long 230s! You Can Kiss My Grits G'bye!!!

Ok, so my blood work showed I have a low Vitamin B1. Think it was 40 or something? So they started me on 100mg/day and I'm supposed to continue it for the next year I think? All the BVitamins are considered "energy" vitamins and help with fuel metabolism/accessibility. I think all except B6 are water soluble, so you pee them out--but you shouldn't megadose on them either cuz they can affect the accuracy of other blood tests. I def wouldn't start supplementing the Bs without one of my docs telling me to do so. I know I have to take mine by noon, or else, I won't sleep at night! LOL. But within about 2-3 weeks of taking the thyroid and B1 I started losing normally, and felt so much energy it was almost impossible to just "sit" and "be." I had to get up and move! They have made such a difference to me. I no longer feel like I'm on the steps of death! Seriously! I was gaining weight on a 1000cal diet. The only way I could lose 1lb per week was to stay below 800 cals/day and about 30g net carbs. Now I'm losing (slowly--about 3-4lbs/month), on 1500 cals/day and am eating between 60-100g whole carbs per day or about 40-60g net carbs per day! Here's what one write up says about Vitamin B1: http://www.umm.edu/health/medical/altmed/supplement/vitamin-b1-thiamine

OMG, I just weighen in in the 200's for the first time in years!

Ha!!!! Congrats on 299.6lbs girlie! Totally take it. The rule is: 2 weight readings the same=that reading! I sometimes have to go 3-5, but in general try to keep it best 2 out of 3. Congrats on your super response to changing your diet ahead of your fill!!!! Is your fill today? So happy for you!
  15. Dear God, James! That first link made me laugh til I had tears streaming down my face!!! Thanks for the giggles!

    Today I am beaten

Wow, what uplifting and encouraging responses to your disappointing news, Matt! ((huge hugs)) Hats off to each of you and so glad you're here to lift us all up by sharing your journeys! Matt, you're gonna get through this. It may not feel like it now. In fact, I'd wager it feels like major suckage (which it is)! And it's SO scary to face our own mortality! The younger we are when we have to face it, the harder! As a 30 or 40 year old, none of us expect the Spanish Inquisition! LOL. We're not supposed to be close to dieing at that age! And it's tough feeling the shame that we impose on ourselves about what we have or haven't done to contribute to our disease. We can't change the past and I've found that self-flagellation never works. No matter how long or hard the beatings, morale NEVER improves! This is a set back. But the story hasn't been fully written. And if you "use your force for good, Luke," you can channel this to your advantage and to get "fixed up" and back on track. It's a short scenic tour. And the good news is that you now have an empirical and fixable reason why you've been feeling poorly! And there is absolutely no reason you can't continue with your focus on weight loss as you're getting your valve repair. You should ask if they can do this laparoscopically--I think they can if I remember correctly, which means quick recovery! Not to be preachy, but all you have to do is invite God in and he will do most of the heavy lifting. Throughout my life, he's always represented hope and strength. I highly recommend him! God's timing truly is perfect.

    Clothing Sizes

I "think" vanity sizing is well in use in the US, but I don't know for certain. I'm still in my "magic pants." They're 26-28s that fit me at 325lbs and still fit me at 229lb! LOL. So I've no idea what "real size" I wear! One day, no doubt, when I'm embarrassingly "pantsed" in public, I'll be forced to go shopping! *snort*

    Unflavored Protein Powder

I really like Isopure Unflavored Protein powder mixed into soups and stews. Now, granted, I haven't had surgery yet, so that might all change!

    Finally !

    Congrats!!!!
  21. Keep walking sweet girl! Walk walk walk! Sip sip sip sip!!! Saying prayers things start moving soon. What do your nurses say? Sometimes they have better info than your docs! Do they have any tips? I know you must be pretty miserable, but I'm glad you're in the hospital so they can monitor you!
  22. Dang! So so sorry you've endured this, but so glad you were able to find the prob and address it. Hopefully each day will get better. Lean on our Lord. Even when you think he might be doing other things, he's still got us. ((hugs)) Saying prayers that your pain leaves you quickly!!!
  23. Congrats! Can't give you practical help, but wanted to cheer you on!!!
  24. Sorry for the long ass post!
