I dunno. Again, I'm pre-op so only going by what I've read and that looks like a TON of food for 6weeks post surg? But I would say hey, if it floats your boat and your satisfied with your rate of loss and learning new eating behaviors. Go for it! Congrats on your success so far! ((hugs)) -

Something Not Addressed

OMG, after having my port put in and suffering through concretions from hell as a result of fentanyl during anesthesia? I thought I was gonna have to take a pick axe and back hoe to my hiney in order to budge 'em out of the poop chute! I tell ya, I would do a bowel prep for a frickin' hang nail or root canal! I'd want that sucker clean as a whistle with not a trace of anything solid that could turn to concrete. LOL. I will personally do clear liquids for 3-4 days pre-op and prep early and often to keep it from happening. Um, have I been perfectly "clear" on the subject? hehehe. -

My gut is PISSED OFF! 2 month old newbie needs help! Offer some keto guidelines?

I'd go into Whole Foods or a health food store and talk to a person there about enzymes. Maybe taking digestive enzymes and also Lactaid would help? I agree with @Sosewsue61 that it really sounds more like lactose intolerance than a fat issue? And also think pro-pre-biotics would also be your friend! ((hugs)) Sounds painful!!! -
Are there any sweeteners you can handle? Can you handle any extracts? I use the vitacost liquid stevia. Sorry you're having a rough go! ((hugs)). I'd make homemade bone broth (chicken and beef) and add isopure unflavored protein powder to the broth in order to get my protein in. I'd blend up frozen strawberries and blueberries in my plain smoothies and then strain them until I didn't have to strain them any more. Your menu is 100% my menu. But I can have the non-sugar sweeteners and flavor extracts listed. Hang tough!!!!! You got this! Maybe talk to your nutritionist. She told me I could add chicken baby food to my soups as long as it was pourable.

Congrats on your surgery LJ! And congrats on not pukin'!!!

Nope no info. Last RD is next week. -
I make a "green" smoothie. Here's my recipe for it: Base: 2oz frozen spinach 2oz frozen blueberries 30g (or about 1 scoop) isopure banana cream protein powder (or any flavor) 1 eyedropper vitacost liquid vanilla stevia 16oz water (or coconut milk or Fairlife fat free milk) 4-6 ice cubes Nutrition with water as the base: 140 cals; 25g protein; 6g carbs; 2g fiber; 4g net carbs; 4g sugar naturally occurring Variations: 6g whole psyllium husks (makes it thicker and lasts with me longer before hunger) - 21 cals; 5g carbs; 4g fiber; 1g nt. carb 6g vitacost peanut butter slim powder - 22 cals; 3g protein; 1g fat; 2g carbs; 1g fiber; 1g net carb Nutrition when I'm doing a peanut butter banana blueberry with psyllium and water as the base: 183 cals; 28g protein; 1g fat; 13g carbs; 7g fiber; 6g net carbs; 4g sugar. Nutrition when I'm doing a peanut butter banana blueberry with psyllium and 8oz Fairlife Fat Free Milk and 4-8oz water as the base: 263cals; 41g protein; 1g fat; 19g carbs; 7g fiber; 12g net carbs; 10g sugars (this would last me for 2 meals at least). I know for DS you can have extra fats, so maybe add 1 tbsp or 2 of whole peanut or almond butter rather than the peanut butter slim powder. You can also add coconut oil if you feel like you have to have it or I sometimes add 1/4 of a ripe avocado.

Photograph Your Food - Journaling
FluffyChix posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I get a newsletter from MFP and one of the articles discusses scientifically backed weight loss principles/behaviors. I was surprised to learn that #54, photographing your plate, was one of the suggestions. Then keep pictures organized by date. That way as you go back and look at your MFP logs, you can go pull a pic and associate the plate with your log. I thought that sounded kinda cool, since most of us have phones with cameras and most have some kind of computer. http://blog.myfitnesspal.com/67-science-backed-weight-loss-strategies/?otm_medium=onespot&otm_source=onsite&otm_content=article-page:article-footer-unit&otm_click_id=edb8c1e6-8a17-4cae-949f-2784ebf057e4 54. PHOTOGRAPH YOUR FOOD You can write down what you ate, but when looking back a week later, it may be tough to visualize exactly what a meal looked like. A quicker, and perhaps more telling, alternative is to take photos of each meal. A small study showed that photographic food diaries could alter attitudes and behaviors associated with food choices more than written diaries. Grab a camera and get snapping. -

Scariest part of my surgery
FluffyChix replied to Creekimp13's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks Abe Froman the Sausage King of Chicago. I totally "get" that wasn't what happened. I guess, I should have better communicated, cuz what I was hoping to get was reassurance that, "Oh yah, no problem! If the insurance company sends you a letter of confirmation they are legally responsible for coverage." I understand that the hospital confused two people with the same name and billed the wrong person. Good times! -
Scariest part of my surgery
FluffyChix replied to Creekimp13's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So legally, if the insurance company sends you a letter of approval, they HAVE to pay and can't change their minds after the surgery has happened?
