    Just don't care

No offense, but I'm a girl, and I don't even want to post in the Girls' Room. ROFLMAO. And as for being able to tell, well ef me, it's not rocket science, sense just about every damn post begins with PCOS in big bright letters or something like Shark Week! bahahahaha. Gah! I wanna poke my eyes out with boredom and horror! Ok, well, so sorry for barging in. I do try pretty hard not to do it. I blame hunger and lack of coffee yesterday for posting before doing due-diligence. Keep on keepin' on!

I guess this is an NSV?

I'd call that an NSV girlie! Congrats!!

    Stomach pain while sleeping

Ouch, sounds yukky! ((hugs)) Hang in there and ask the doc. I had similar stuff but it was adhesions.
  7. No gout here. But the last time I went on all protein drinks my feet/ankles swelled. When they did blood work, my uric acid was high normal, but not anything that would lead them to gout. I just think my kidneys are tired of me being fat. LOL. Stevie Ray, Ernest Tubbs, Robert Clay, Joe Ely, Marcia Ball, I could go on and on. LOL.

    February Blahs...

hahahaha! You can do it at your pace, just walk in place to her stream. Then you know that you've done about a mile without moving. I couldn't do any of the "steps" she showed. ROFLMAO!

  11. Wow going to read it now. That's exciting! I'm around a 21% pre-op loss. (But hey, I've been at this for 10 months...)

    Approved for surgery!

    Wahhhooo! Congrats to you!!
  13. Day 5 Pre-op Liquids DONE baby! Yesterday was a trip. Had pretty much zero hunger, then tried out some chewy vitamins from Celebrate and got horribly nauseated! Think it was the iron that did it. I could only do water and broth the rest of the afternoon and evening and finally forced down the last of my Premier Protein shake to get in 60g protein for the day. Calories were in the basement. Bleh. And I was up 2lbs last night with tight ankles. (Yes, I weigh 2x a day. Sue me. It's my circus, and my monkeys.) This morning I'm up 0.2lbs from yesterday morning. It's so counter intuitive not to see a loss on the scale after only eating 385 calories for the day. Hell, maybe I just need to relax with a cup of smooth move tea? But, it isn't my first rodeo. When I first started this journey I tried eating as a post WLS patient going from liquid diet to soft, puree, then solids. Ha! I think I only lost about 9-12lbs during that time? So my body clearly doesn't like protein drinks. I suspect it makes my insulin spike and maybe even uric acid. Both would account for my ankles swelling and for slow weight loss. There is no doubt in my mind that I'm losing, but I think I'm retaining fluid. So the game plan for today is gonna be to try to get in more calories and my protein. I'm gonna try to avoid broth as much as possible, but will have sodium free Herb Ox since it's sodium free and will see if that still makes my ankles tight. I'm now only 9 days to surgery. Seems surreal. Right? In honor of today, will play a song from my beloved and much-missed fellow Texan, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Tightrope for our listening pleasure. Here's Day 4 Food Log. Happy trails, y'all.

    Little Green getting little(r)

Hahahahaha! Good for you girlie!!!! ((hugs)) That would wear me down to my last nerve!!!
  15. @Marissa37 Congrats on fighting like a girl. In the end, this is too serious not to follow your doctors' advice to the letter. Risk of recurrence is very real, and I'd want to do everything possible within my power to keep that from happening. You might want to call insurance. Mine won't allow WLS until 5 years cancer free. When I was at 5years, my onc started talking WLS to me. But I wasn't ready for the change. It took me about 18months later to get my head in the game and to start the process. From start to now, it's been about 10 months. I hope to have surgery 2.20.18. As for having DIEP (autologous tissue transplant from your belly fat) flap reconstruction, you do have to be careful not to lose too much weight, so that there is sufficient grafting material. I lost down to 218lbs during chemo/radiation/double mastectomy/expanders. My PS, told me we had to do the bilateral latissimus dorsi flap procedures and implants because I didn't have enough fat left in my abdomen to do the transplant and he felt I would not like the results. He also said that even with a partner doing the other side, it would have been an 11hour surgery and he felt I wasn't strong enough to withstand it. So I would make sure you thoroughly understand the process he's suggesting to you and do your research and make sure you won't have any surprises. I hope they at least put tissue expanders in during your surgery? Hang in there and study. You'll find your way! Here's some research I compiled. I made the decision to do RNY because it's more effective against metabolic disease. Hormone positive breast cancer is an obesity mediated metabolic disease that some refer to as Diabetes Type 3. 16. Hahaha! To me it looks like it has a vinaigrette dressing on it--which is why it appeals so much. I do like mayo, but really dig vinaigretty slaws.

Can’t drink protein shakes! Post op

Try mixing it in a cup of decaff coffee. Hardly sweet at all: 6-8oz decaff + 2-3fl oz PP vanilla, chocolate, b/c, caramel. So so so good.
  18. FluffyChix

    Approved!

    Congrats dude!

Can’t drink protein shakes! Post op

Hey also, if you use peanut butter powder it will cut the amount of sweet. My faves are bananas and cream + powdered peanut butter, or dutch chocolate + powdered peanut butter. When you're able to have more fiber, 1oz frozen spinach and 1oz of frozen blueberries in the bananas and cream makes it yummy and barely sweet.

    nervous about forms

What the hell is this package? LOL! I have my final next week with the doc. When I first entered the program I had a crap ton of paperwork to fill out asking questions similar to that, though.
