    Feeling Sick

Well yes and more. Up on the top right is a bar with your name and avatar. Click the drop down menu and go to Account Settings, My Ticker, My Surgery. Once there, you can fill out a ton of different information like your surgical info, your weight, the type of surgery, when it was, etc. Look at my response here. See how there is all this information showing under my name? If you leave all your stuff blank, it's just incredibly difficult for us to know or remember where you are in your journey and pretty difficult to offer support or relative experience. Also, adding a ticker (which resides in the same place and is easy to set up) helps us know your weight loss history.
  2. Hahaha! OK, got it! Thanks sweetie!!
  3. What does this mean sweetie? "Doc uses first visit last year." I hear ya on being sleepy! We had to leave at 4:30am to get to the hospital at 5:30am. Then once we got there, there was a lot of sitting around and waiting lol! And a lot of "trying get an iv going". *snort*

  5. Day 7 Post Op - 221.2lb (-1.2lbs after surgery) Officially in post-surgery virgin weight loss territory!!! Hope that is the last I see of GHDWL (Ground Hog Day Weight Loss where you lose and regain and re-lose the same weight over and over again every day!) Morning peeps! Had a great day yesterday and walked my little drumsticks off! I also got in all my fluid and all my protein. I also started weaning off of gabapentin. The bruises on my abdomen are still spectacular and I have a tennis ball sized "knot" in my lowest incision left of my bellybutton. I'm guessing that's where they did a lot of work? Meh. Who knows. I had a round of nausea yesterday evening that really surprised me and began feeling a little "off"--like I had a fever. And I did have another one of my little "fevers"--99.6 which really isn't much but it's enough for me to feel kind of yucky. So I stepped away from my protein and just went back to water and was fine. This morning, no fever. So dang weird why it comes up in the afternoon and early evening and is gone by morning. But it made me completely averse to peanut butter chocolate which is the flavor of protein drink I was drinking last night. It feels so fantastic to finally be in virgin post surgery weight loss territory! I decided I'm going to use my morning of surgery weight as the "beginning" weight for calculating post surgery losses. It took 7 days to get back to ground zero, and I think part of that might have been the gabapentin. So I think good things are ahead of me. I hope to hit 220 tomorrow in time for my 1st follow-up with the surgeon. Hope she's happy with my progress! It hit me yesterday, that I'm beyond done with liquids and am so ready to move forward into purees and later, to real food! I had quite a bit of hunger yesterday, but I dealt with it by drinking water every time I had an urge to eat and to chew something. Cheese looked obscenely delish yesterday! *snort* I sniffffffffffed long and hard as I made Mr. Fluffy's cold dinner last night! Made him a smoked turkey swiss flatout wrap with spinach and onions and an avo and tom salad. Damn! I wanted his dinner so badly! LOL. Ok, well today will be more of the same: walking, drinking, taking my vitamins, and working a little bit, and losing! I can't put off laundry any longer, so I'm guessing there will be a fair measure of that too! LOL. Oh, btw? Virgin Mary's rock the casbah!!!! More later!

    Strange "out of it" feeling

It's either the type of pain med you're using or a hangover from the anesthesia. ((hugs)) Or maybe low-ish blood sugar?

    Tolerating protein

I add the unflavored to broth and Healthy Request Cream of Chicken, Cream of Mushroom, and Creamy Poblano soup. Congrats on your progress!

    Post-Op Medications

I had gabapentin and tramadol and liquid sf tylenol. I'm weaning off the gaba now and haven't had the tramadol in the last 3 days--nor liquid tylenol. I have no discernible pain.
  11. Yeah, that's what I love about the peanut butter powder by Vitacost. Not as much added sugar as in PB2. And it takes a good deal of sweetness out of the final product. I am a consummate label reader. It's a sickness really...
  12. There are all kinds of misrepresentations of reality in the OPs 1st post and a similar arrogance in your post as you vet-splain me. Luckily, I don't have to educate her, nor care for her or support her irresponsible actions. I get to "do" me instead. There are not enough hours or energy in my day to worry one second about this person of whom I know nothing other than her arrogant position in a new support forum. I wish you the best too. And btb, my mother quit smoking 30 years before her death from lung cancer...it was a brutal lingering heartbreaking death. See ya'll round the funny papers. I've expended my last bit of energy I will commit to this asinine thread.
  13. Unfortunately, the Smucker's are too steep for my budget. 2TBSP of either of those is 90 calories compared to the 5 calories and once you subtract sugar alcohols, they still have 9 and 10g of carbs. They use cornstarch. So I would not use them when I'm purposely trying to be a miser while I'm in active weight loss. But they're sure better than full sugar once we hit maintenance.

    Feeling really down...

Awwwww honey!!! ((hugs)) I'm so sorry you're going through the fire!!!!

    my mistake

LOL, no IIIIIII didn't say that silly. I said you're beloved by all of us! The new kid was teasing that you were a click bait troll. Please let the record show! Bahahahahahahaahaha!
  16. LOL. Bless your heart. You are gonna be CRAZY post surgery and I am gonna guess, suffer a world of hurt as you "attempt" to detox after surgery in addition to having to deal with the pain of surgery. But hey, you do you! Just please do yourself a favor? Don't try to eat pizza or a couple of Reese's eggs 4 days out from surgery ok? (My apologies to everyone including the OP, for this super snarky response! Cuz dear God, I followed the fuc*in' straight and narrow path these 6 months with few deviations well beforehand, and am like a church mouse now the surgery has come and gone--and even though I'm doing well, it has NOT been without its challenges. These kinds of posts make me jelly and crazy cuz the OP will probably skate through and pick up smoking 2 days after surgery without any kind of payback or ill-effects...) *le sigh. I'll put myself in time out. Sorry folks!*

    my mistake

Haha. Well it's lost in translation unless you're a Southern cracker like me, who's watched Ricky Bobby so many times, you can recite verse by verse. LOL.
  18. Wowza! Time for another orgasmic taste treat!!!! I warn you now though, this may not be all that fabulous. It could be that I am just glomming onto anything remotely that looks tasty! LOL! 19. Well they sent me home from the hospital with it. The combination of gabapentin and tramadol is supposed to be a very effective pain killer without the same risks as opiod addiction. I suspect she did that cuz we'd discuss me not wanting to get flagged by the po-po for having narcotics prescribed by 2 different docs. My PCP prescribes my Norco for my neuralgia and arthritis pain--and as long as I only get 1 script or less per year from him, he will continue to prescribe. My guess is she didn't want to give me the liquid norco (can't remember the name). Anyway, it worked just fine and I quit taking the tramadol a couple of days ago and now I'm ready to drop the gabapentin--especially after reading the withdrawal stuff! Holy fu*k! If I have pain, I will just take my liquid tylenol, which has done fine. I haven't even taken that in a couple of days! But I was shocked to read how addictive the gaba is!!!
