  1. Congrats! Great changes and you look like you're already at goal!
  2. ((hugs)) I share some similar feelings about having doubts and wondering if I either deserve to be normal weight or if I can actually make a weight loss goal that I set. Good that you have a therapist to work through this with!!

    Blended Shakes and Swallowing Air

Yes. My RD told me not to do that cuz of added air and gas/swelling in tummy. Also some powders are foamier. Syntrax Nectar is pretty foamy. So I make mine ahead when I make them and let them sit.
  4. Dang! Congrats dude! Can't wait to hear how your 3month went!!!

    That moment when...

Holy moly girl!!! Glad you got down without being struck dead! (On a brighter note: You look AHMAZING while sweating your ass off on a 5k high mountain ascent and descent run! ) Hope THAT was on your bucket list, cuz if not, you should add it!

    Any February Sleevers?

You are right. I made an assumption. I did not read in what you wrote, that you had made a healthier version of the mac n' cheese. Those are the changes I was alluding to and which in my view set us up for long term success. Of course no one is perfect. We wouldn't have arrived at the SMO ball if we didn't all have food issues or metabolic derangement of some sort. So to think that because of our surgery "everything in moderation and small portions is gonna work for us" is a magical notion. So yeah, I think eating "regular" mac n cheese would be playing with fire. Cuz you know, only eating 1 oz of food as your doing for 124cals seems to me like holy sh*t, that's pretty dense calories right there! And I absolutely agree we're all different. I already know that my "huge portions" of 1/2c per meal with a massive daily calorie count of average 450-550 while walking 1 hour-10 minutes per day 7 days a week is STILL considered under-eating. I burn on average 265 calories from walking at only a 2.5mph pace and only consume 450-550 calories. So it's almost as bad ad your 236 cals per day. And I do not consider eating every 3-4hours excessive. I do not consider eating 1.5-2oz of protein per meal and 1/2-1oz of veg per meal having a total 1/2c volume per meal excessive either. Hell! I'd love to be eating 3/4c volume per meal right now. But just because I "can" doesn't mean that would be "wise!" I'm following my RDs plan to the letter of the law--down to her portions and daily protein goals. Also, I WISH my hunger had been extinguished from my RNY. Unfortunately, MY remnant makes 100% of its ghrelin still as a post surgery patient, unlike the VSG peeps. I look at y'all surgery as maybe having a bigger advantage from hunger sessation. (At least that's why my surgeon maintains.) I'm quite certain that's how you are surviving on 236 cals per day. Cuz that is a crazy ass number...just sayin. But then so is 450-550 per day burning 265 cals from exercise. But, ghrelin begins to be made again and stomach volumes stretch in the maintenance years (beyond about 2years). Then what's a person to do if they haven't learned to make healthier food choices during the honeymoon period? Sorry for mis-understanding that you HAD made a healthier version. I'm all about that. But I didn't intuit that from your original post. So I'll be sure to stay off your posts in future and avoid a lot of backlash for having a different opinion and approach than you.

    Any February Sleevers?

I bought two packages of them (all my store had). But we've yet to try them. I keep saying, "Tomorrow." But, tomorrow hasn't come yet, cuz when it gets here I don't feel like adding more carbs into my meals. One day.
  8. OMG. I have 1 pair of pants and 1 pair of leggings that still fit--and a crap ton of too big flannel pjs with a drawstring which are my work clothes. LOL. I'm ok on tops for now. But crap! And I went to the thrift stores, but dammit if I'm not one of the peeps who despite being 200lbs is still in size 20s, there is NOTHING in that size at thrift. I refuse to liquify myself and pour myself into size 16s just to have triple muffin top and an ass crack and be able to claim I'm wearing a size 16 and buying from Salvation Army. So I may be house bound for awhile or learn to use Mr. F's mom's sewing machine!

    Any February Sleevers?

Actually, the problem wasn't with the user on this one. @Orchids&Dragons Salmon, an oilier fish sits heavier in our new anatomy and kinda sneaks up on you. You served the exact right amount in theory, but in retrospect, you may have to slow your eating even more with it because it can become heavy feeling about 30minutes-45minutes out. It kinda migrates to the top of our tummy and puts pressure (almost like fish burps or indigestion). I still eat it cuz I love it so, but I eat sooooo slowly and definitely stick to the portions I have previously been capable of eating. And it keeps me full for HOURS--unlike other white fleshed fish. It is SO hard learning the rules of the road not just for your new body, but also for each individual food at that specific point in time. LOL. 2 weeks from now, you might be able to hand an additional ounce without issue! Keep on keepin' on hon! I know this is such a bone of contention here. People who believe that moderation is gonna keep them slim and without regain v. us hard line hard-assers. I just think in reading this that it's playing with fire. Thank GOD for your new sleeve. But know that all magic comes with a price. Time flies by. If you don't take the chance to re-organize the way and WHAT you eat now during the time when your tummy is tiny and the damage is limited to 124 cals...you will become a statistic and will be back here in 2-3 years saying, "Help me Obiwankenobe. Help me! I've regained 60lbs and crave carby stuff and sugar all the time. Please help!!" That's my fear for you. A much wiser choice would be to make that same recipe using something like cauli rice, or zucchini noodles, or broccoli. Or even try some of the Birdseye Frozen Pasta that is made with lentils and zucchini. They have a mac and a cheese variety already. You don't have to white knuckle diet. But making simple no-brainer substitutions can let you have your cake and eat it too without future consequences and while learning new tools for lifelong maintenance. Sorry for butting in and adding my unpopular 2 cents.

Dunno. You're probably gonna be ok? But I would tend to call my doc or RD and ask?

    Anniversary

Congrats! You look so healthy and wonderful. You should be proud.
  14. OMG y'all! I am sure I'm just sensitive, but I made my plates last weekend at my sissy's house and used my 1/2 cup measuring cup and sat down with my saucer. And people always looked at it. It felt like they were saying, how can you eat so much? Cuz you know, when 1/2c spreads out...it looks kinda like what a skinny person serves for themselves. Right? I can only say, I think I'm just fu*ked up in the head. LOL.
  15. Oh Lort! I hear ya! Luckily for Mr. F. I filled up the freezer with leftovers that I made for him thinking, "Oh I will warm that up for him after the operation." LOL, but it was such an easy thing that I ended up cooking afterward! And now that it's really hit that I'm forever changed, I have to feed him a freezer full of food. LOL. I do hope we are able to negotiate a new "healthy" normal. You know? I believe our non-gaining future depends on it. LOL. Like we just got back in and it's time for dinner, but DH and I used to have wine or cocktails and an little appetizer in the old days. But for me, it's either dinner or appetizer and no drinks. And I'm so close to breaking into onderland that I don't want to indulge and do a modified Saturday date night. So I made him an app and a glass of wine and told him that I had to go in the other room until he was through cuz I was feeling a little put-upon and sad-sack. So here I am, getting a psychological boost from the boards while he eats and drinks! Luckily, he understands and asked if he should not eat/drink. I told him, I was the one who had the surgery not him. And it's up to me to make good choices. So I have and did.

    Down day

Sorry. ((hugs)) The days do get better, but there are occasional down days or down moments! Hang in there and power through them!
  19. Awwww! That so sucks! But what a darling pic!!! Are you home now?
  20. @Tealael Oh man on the dumping from panna cotta while being in Paris! Hope it passes quickly. ((hugs)) Maybe you should take a piccy for us of the ceilings while you're just "laying around," so we can experience part of your world tour? Feel better soon!
  21. Congrats!!! You look amazing!
  22. Tremendously!!! TY!! I had huge plans to have 2 SF Reese's PB Cup Minis. LOL. I never got around to it. Isn't that so weird? In the past, that would have been my pre-brekky with coffee on Easter Morning! Did the cupcake top and icing make you feel bad or dump?
  23. FluffyChix

    179 woohoooooo

    Congrats!!
  24. Thank you! You know, the hardest part for me is not having a set roadmap. I hate the kinds of diets that don't give you exact quantities. LOL. So like South Beach and I? Gah! Hate it! LOL. I'm super afraid of overeating cuz I can eat so well with no food intolerance!

Love this!!! Thanks for sharing your talents and thoughts!!! I may steal this and pretend I wrote it. Is it truly plagiarism if no other trees are around to see the one fall in the forest?
