    Finding foods is hard

Honestly? This sounds like rationalization on your part and it sets my alarm bells ringing. It's exactly the thing I would tell myself when I'm seeking to get a carb fix. If you are eating 100-120g of protein a day (too much, way too much IMHO), I would get the hell off any protein shakes until I was eating 60-80g/day, I try for 60-74g but I'm 5'4". Then if you have room in your diet, I'd be adding a crap ton of healthy greens, mushrooms, tomatoes, avocados (rich in magnesium and vits/mins/fiber) that will all help you poo. THEN if you have room still, I'd add nuts/seeds in very measured servings (calorie dense) but more magnesium and fiber. THEN I'd add beans/legumes... The LAST forkin thing I'd add would be cereal. The LAST thing. They are all part of the "healthy wholesome whole grain recipe" that won me a lifetime invitation to the Obesity Ball... just sayin...

    Texture eater :(

I just chewed the hell out of it and when I was on full liquids, I just removed the bits with my spoon as i found them. there aren't many lol. these were canned soups. I think i had a total of 1 or 2 cans of soup the entire time post op.

    Texture eater :(

IMHO I understand doing this--cuz I know I certainly did it to an extent--but it's overkill and unnecessary torture. LOL, only to find that it was all por nada. I didn't even have to do a puree stage. LOL. I never ate the jars of baby food. I just went from full liquids to mushies with a fork, to soft foods, to eating the kitchen sink. Remember in purees, you can things like ricotta bake, roasted butternut squash and pumpkin, tuna fish and chicken salad smashed to kingdom come, refried beans, creamed pureed soups that aren't as viscous. Mix a spoon of protein powder in or keep drinking your liquids and bam baby!!
  7. own it baby!!! Honestly, I think we all have times like this. And we all knew you were facing a challenging month going into it! So really, no guilt, no beatings--only enjoyment during this season. Then get back and get serious. I think maybe the thing that got most of us (at least me for sure) to the Obesity Ball is that I had TOO many of those times back to back until I just lost all will to try...So the danger lies in not being able to stem that tide and turn your motivation back on when you get back to some semblance of normalcy. You can do this girl...think of the cardio!

  12. Hey guys...I'm sure you are already on this, but the website is achingly slow after the updates yesterday. It takes almost a minute for anything to load in my browser and I have super fast connectivity and just rebooted to make sure it isn't my 'puter. Thanks!
  13. cardio...bahahahahaahaha!!! Good times! 🤣😄😅😆
  14. Well you look gorgeous, so something is happening and going right!!!! Congrats on 11 months girlie!!! And on having easy IF days!!! Hope you had a blast with your friend!
  15. No worries! We all do that--mean one thing and inadvertently type another!
  16. Ok! Good to know! Thought it was Fu*k Me, Ladies. bahahahaha! ((hang in there girlie))
  17. Dang! Those sure look fun and festive! Hang in there girl. Remember, you know the remedy when you return. So what does FML mean again? *blush*
  18. Sorry about your mom!! Do you mean hypoglycemia?
  19. Yes, my surgeon said I could try anything I was big enough to try. Once tiny bite of very tender ribeye went down fine. However, a few days later, a wedge of lite cheese and 2 pork rinds caused a trip to the ER.

    Difficulty with Pre Op Diet

Don't skip. If you're having probs, look into counseling right now and get that on board. But they need to document your inability to lose on your own. And if you skip, it resets all clocks back to zero. They may be able to give you an appetite suppressant. And talk to your RD about reformulating a more workable eating plan. Sorry you're having probs.

    2 Weeks Post-Op - Full Esophagus?

I'm sorry you're having problems. But please, PLEASE for God's sake, tell your surgical team about this. I think your nurse is with your surgeon? But do NOT let your PCP treat you for a potential issue with your surgery. The only person you should be listening to is your surgeon and by-proxy his nurse/Pa/team.

    Am I eating enough.

Ha! I should go put that on the misspelling rant! I can't even spell that correctly! So I think that proves that I am! hehe

    Am I eating enough.

@Russ D I think that's a myth, maybe... Brad Pilon has researched this and written pretty extensively about protein metabolism. But IMHO, 56g of protein in a shake is overkill, especially at the point where the OP is in post surgery...But I'm just a schmoe on the internet and know nothing, so it's probably even more likely that I'm wrong! 🤣
  24. Here are some of my favorite low carb/keto bloggers' granola recipes: Maria Emmerich - http://mariamindbodyhealth.com/low-carb-granola/ Carolyn Ketchum - https://alldayidreamaboutfood.com/paleo-coconut-cacao-nib-granola-low-carb-and-gluten-free/ I Breathe I'm Hungry (cinnamon faust crunch cereal) - https://www.ibreatheimhungry.com/cinnamon-faux-st-crunch-cereal-3/ These are awesome recipes that are low carb and healthified and give good amounts of protein too!
  25. Oh wow! Ok, so yeah, the shakes lessening are good! But sadly the granola is probably one of the culprits of that. Are you making the granola homemade? Or are you using pre-made stuff? Cuz I can link you to some homemade low carb ones that are easy to make! And taste fabulous. Yay on watching the vid and getting the book. I just started reading it yesterday. So far I've just been trying to devour his YouTubes and building on my IF stuff from my books from Dr. Johnson, Dr. Moseley, and Dr. Varady on ADF IF. These 3 espouse the ADF calorie restricted methodology rather than meal timing IF. But as usual...I complicate and do both. I think Dr. Fung may be in favor of the longer IF OMAD version and look forward to reading his recs for dietary protocol. If by sweetener you mean anything with sugar or fructose or sucrose, then most definitely. Anything with highly available carbs will spike insulin -- even grains and legumes (although certain grains spike it slightly slower). Do you have Stevia or Swerve or Truvia or Sukrin products there? Those that have stevia and fructooligosaccharides stimulate it less. There is some info that Splenda (sucralose) spikes insulin, and the vote is split on whether or not erythritol spikes insulin--on the sucralose and erythritol, these insulin spikes occurred in the absence of blood sugar spikes--so they are silent offenders. But bottom line is if insulin is elevated, fats stores get locked up tight in the cells and won't be released. I think 14/10 and 16/8 are def. great places to start. I can't wait to read more about the protein requirements during IF, cuz I am concerned with getting my protein in on days that I do 22-24hour fasts like I'm doing today. The most I can get in right now is about 50g of protein. Congratulations to her!!! BTW, even though you are normal weight you can also IF 1-2 days per week. You just have to make sure to balance your cals on non-fasting days with healthy cals and you might be able to take advantage of the autophagy that it offers for eating loose skin and damaged cells!!
