Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
FluffyChix replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
IKR!!! In the grocery store I would sport a flaming red bikini with maybe like a faux full length mink (cuz I always freeze my ass off in our HEB, no matter how fuc*ing hot it is outside!) -

That's super! So glad you're here. Post a lot! Post lots of food too. hahaha! Are the IF days getting easier? -
Hahahaaha! OMG. This still annoys me! All the FB recipes that are the little movies, are like gooey cheese bombs. And I "get" that Americans tend to think cheesy/gooey=comforty delicious lol...but gawd! Stop it! LOL. Cheese makes post-surg pooping just a nightmare for me, despite gobs of fiber from plants/berries/nuts and a couple of stray beans, plus Miralax, plus colace. LOL. And post RNY, if I eat too much cheese, I get very nauseated. For the most part to this day at 1st Goal and almost 10 months out, I eat cleanly--very simple. No recipes necessary. LOL. Cuz recipes add not only time in the kitchen, but also add calories, You can pack in a butt load of food for 600-800 cals/day that is deeply nutritious: 1. lean proteins: fish, seafood, chicken, turkey, egg whites, eggs, lean cuts of pork/beef. and of course you also have plant proteins--which I don't really use as protein sources--more as condiments, but that's up to you. 2. low glycemic veggies 3. healthy oils (avocado, avo oil, evoo, coconut oil, sesame oil, grassfed butter, nuts/seeds) 4. some low glycemic berries Meals take about 10-20 minutes max and that's only if I have to grill that night. But we grill to have quick leftover protein sources, or quick saute in a pan, or use the GF grill so it's easy peasy...

Hi all! Hope you had a great weekend! I'm back! I ate ALL. THE. THINGS. at WurstFest and had a couple sips of beer--meh. Not so interested in it. I'm up to 152.8lbs this morning but not worried. It's mostly fluid--and a lot of that is in my lymphedema arm. It always happens when I travel, even though I use a compression sleeve. It will drain and I will be back to my low within a week. I'm doing a 24 hour OMAD today, maybe will even consider going for a 36hour. Will see how it goes and if I'm a starvin fool today--after eating so much and so many more carbs this weekend. I'm so carb sensitive. Ugh. Still! Oh well--lucky for me, I can take em or leave em without angst. I am OBSCENELY happy to be back in my own environment, on my own schedule with my happy belly food. I can't wait for one of my huge salads, and also sauteed greens and mushies--and maybe a hunk of salmon, chicken, or turkey! Wish I beef still loved me. But I still have dreams that one day we will learn to play well together! @redhead_che Congrats on goal girl!! And so quickly! Man to be young and have your darling figure! Your bikini inspires this old crone to dream big! I just don't know where I would tuck and hide all my skin! LOL. -

Suddenly Terrified

Ok, I can relate to all of this. But once you are through to the other side and give your tum time to heal, you will wonder why you wasted all that energy with such amazing amounts of stress. I swear, I call myself a tool everyday for being like that and just burning empty energy with worry. It IS the best thing evs!!! And the pain level will go down soooo much you won't even recognize yourself. What you're feeling is norms just as @Matt Z said and there ARE other pain relievers but you may not even need them! Cheers! -

I 10000% endorse this statement! BTW, I was really asking Che if she was asking me about the 500-600 or if that was a comment about her own averages. . Sorry for the shorthand and not communicating well! Too forking early and not enough coffee/green tea in the world! -
Pre op liver shrinking diet, how much fat is recommended?
FluffyChix replied to tracysteward's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
Yes great math! But I would just add, PLEASE follow your doc's specific plan, cuz for most of us, pre-op, 50g of carbs will be WAY too many carbs to effect quick change in the liver volume during that brief 2 week diet immediately leading up to surgery. For most of us, we'd need <20g of carbs. I was on liquid diet only for the 2weeks pre-op. I honestly wasn't allowed any food at all, just my low carb low/no sugar protein shakes to give 80-100g of protein per day pre-surg. Which is VERY different than the 1st 6 months leading up to surgery. For that diet, then maybe 50g of carbs would be just fine if most of that is from low glycemic veggies/fruits/seeds/nuts/dairy. -

I made 1st Goal today! I will wait until Monday to make it official and post my 150lb pics. LOL, which let's face it, won't look TOO very much different from the pics I posted a few weeks ago at 156lb. LOL. Today to my wandering eyes did appear, a little round bald man and eight tiny reindeer! Thank you Santa!!!! I honestly never thought I would get to this first goal. But I made it anyway. And it's only the bare MINI-mum of what I'm going to expect out of this surgery and lifestyle overhaul! Wooot! 149.2lbs - 11.02.18 - 1st Goal - Boom baby! Done! -

I am thinking Che was asking this question of me...that the first day of 500-600 cals was hard with IF? But my RD would continually freak out about my low cals. And then I'd show her pics of my plates and show her my MFP log. And she would calm the fu*k down. LOL. And she'd have to agree with me, that I was doing really good maximizing my macros. I can cram a butt load of food into 500-600 cals. So it doesn't feel like I'm skimping. And cuz it's super low fat, my belly is very content and happy. This is an average day of 550 cals here. This was back when I first started IF/ADF. 09/06/18. It's in my MFP Log (click to enlarge). -

FluffyChix replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
On fasting days, I don't worry so much about cals. But for instance, if I was doing every day as a 16:8, then you need to meet the macros that you've been eating either to maintain or to lose. You know? For me, I do some BS gyration. LOL. I actually combine 16:8 with ADF or OMAD--so it becomes more of a 23:1. On those days my goal is to stay at or under 500 cals with my protein averaging around 50g for the day. Then I alternate with 16:8 where I eat 900-1100 cals and 60-74g of protein per day. My average protein is about 60g and cals average about 825 for the month. -

I did a 25 hour IF yesterday. Was pretty easy peasy. But now I woke up and am STARVIN' MARVIN! LOL. Trying to fight my need for feed. Am about to go exercise. The scale is such a bi*ch! It's holding firm at 152.4lbs. GAH! LOL. Oh well, nothing special to report here. No pics of Italian food (I bet they just call it food in Italy) taken in Italy. Made a turkey burger (bunless) last night. OH mama was it tasty! Oh and I figured out how our gas convection oven works and roasted broccoli and zucchini that were nearing their sell-by date. So. so. good. Today I'm trying for a 16:8. I will eat fully, cuz this is a big exercise day and will try to meet my protein goal of 74g. Yesterday was pretty low, cuz I did OMAD + some PP in coffee. I'm pretty sure given the present level of hunger this will require wicked feats of strength. LOL. -

Congrats you look beautiful!!!!! Now, knock off the daily booze. Hon, your too darn cute and look at that cute figure to ruin it with a daily beer. And it WILL start adding up. I'm not saying you "have" to be a tea-totaller, but IMHO less is more. And the hell? Get those vitamins on board girl!!!! As an RNYer you are absolutely playin with fire and courtin' disaster without them. I'm not joking. It's surely part of the muscle cramps. I agree with Tea that your electrolytes are probably off. I'd call my doc today and find out what they want you to do. Those kinds of cramps are not good! ((hugs)) -

Glass of wine week 5 post op
FluffyChix replied to Meggie1111's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well more than that, not that I'm a saint about anything, but IMHO we all need to try to make the next best choice from here on out. Doesn't mean we will win, cuz I can guarantee we won't win 100% of the time. But each time we DO win the test, we get stronger and are one step closer to redefining a lifetime of bad habits that got us a lifetime invitation to the Obesity Ball. You know? And you know, there are a host of reasons why alcohol isn't a great choice, but 5 weeks out it's even worse: 1. Wine = highly acidic and could increase acid and possibly cause a small ulcer at the operation suture line. Big time Billy-badass probs then. 2. Empty calories that disrupts fat burning mode in some way I can't fully explain to you. 3. Your tummy is still pretty raw in there. God! Imagine having to confess why you're hemorraging! Cuz alcohol thinned your blood too much now your bleeding at your incision sight. 4. Then there's the whole transfer addiction thing...and I'm not qualified to talk about that... But hell...I'm just a shmoe on the internet and am not qualified to talk about any of this stuff! Lol! -
