Oh and if I was on thin purees, I'd make the most delicious pumpkin or butternut squash soup with fresh sage and rosemary and spices and thin it down with bone broth or Fairlife FF milk to my desired consistency and enjoy it! With my pumpkin spice protein lattees!

I think we all have to do what we have to do to get through holidays. One person's celebration, is another person's hell. I look forward to being with family and celebrating seeing each other and having fun together. I am able to cook for others without eating that same stuff. My fam all knew about my surgery--but they know it is private and something not to be discussed outside the fam. Last year I was eating very small amounts in preparation for surgery--trying to lose weight. This year, we will spend with my brother and his fam and he cooks with gobs of fat and carbs. LOL. So my game plan is to bring their requested Friday dinn and bring my own turkey chili for me with a salad. And on Thanksgiving, I will have turkey, and some salad and a bite of his dressing and broccoli and be done with it.

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability

Ok, I'm right at 36 hours this morning and I woke with thoughts of "Oh, maybe I'll just do a 36 hour fast..." But now I'm awake and logical and I didn't do a 36 hour fast just to cafe on autophagy now! My BG fasting is 82 this morning which is really good for me! Wooot! I still have fasting BGs in the mid to high 90s. Damn you PCOS and insulin resistance. So I'ma keep ridin' the wave, drinking mah black coffee and black green tea til the cows come home and I physically can't do it anymore. If there is even a whisper of a chance that autophagy will eat some of my handing batwings and thigh skin/tummy skin, color me the frick there!!! I'm your huckleberry. On a bright note, I'm back to 149.4lbs so weekend bloat is gone and I am working my way back to the newest low today. I'm going to try to make it until 8pm tonight then break my fast with a cup of bone broth, then a eat a light regular dinner of green soup in bone broth with shrimpies. -
OMG! So the good angel on my right shoulder encourages me to stay out of this thread. The bad angel on my left shoulder tells me to speak out. I am going to table a reply and perhaps be back later. But if I do, you gotta know, there would be a come-to-Jesus-meeting attached to it. I find your post deeply disturbing, and a troubling trend I'm seeing in the new Freshman class coming in...

You did great! We've been doing this longer than you have, hon! Thanks for giving it a shot. How many hours did you go today? At some point you will feel ready to try it again. And also, it's much easier once you've been 16:8 for a while and also if you are low carb/keto. WTG girlie!! -

I think it sounds like your doing well? But see if sipping a little more slowly makes that pain or discomfort go away? Hard to say? Are you taking liquid tylenol? I think I was still doing that at day 4?

Can you get up and do something different? Also, pound down about 8oz of water or more. Drink till "filled almost", then sip sip sip to the full line. I know what it takes for me, but you have to learn it. We all do. So do that and keep full up with water. It takes all hunger from me when I do this? -

Ok @redhead_che how are you doing now? Did the hunger pass? -
Then add unflavored protein powder to your broth. I use the Isopure unflavored (think you can get it at GNC)? I mix it into a slurry with just a bit of broth and do that when it's cold. Then stir out the slurry with added broth. Then I warm it just to about 150 degrees and drink it tepid. If it gets too hot it will curdle. I think it curdles somewhere around 160? But I can't remember--cuz I don't do that any more. I just get my protein from food. And broth is broth. Hope that helps!

Quit bein' a wienie and drink some water and decaff! hahaha Ok, seriously girl, the only way I make it is to drink decaff black coffee and also decaff tea all day in addition to my water. I don't know why this helps me but it really quenches my hunger when it hits? Also, know that when hunger hits, it will go away in about 20 minutes or less and each time you get through breakthrough hunger it makes you stronger and the hunger more wimpy. Does that help at all? And at the worse, have a cup of regular bouillon. Sometimes salt (Pink Himalayan) sea salt and the salt in bouillon will help cravings and hunger go away. (Also, no way could I do this if I wasn't already keto/low carb...if I was a sugar burner, this would be torture. -

Sure it's normal. Switch things up. Switch up temps. Experiment. Get an action plan of "hacks" for those days. It's an evolution of continual experimentation. If all you can handle is water for that day, then fully hydrate and try a different "thinner" protein for that day. I kept Isopure clear on hand and diluted it by 50% with plain water. Took longer to get my protein in, but I would still get the minimum in on those days. I liked the Green Tea, Grape, and Fruit Punch flavors the best. I also used Premier Protein Clear (Fruit Punch and Orange Mango). I'd also dilute the fruit punch flavor with water and would dilute the Orange Mango with tea and have it chilled or room temp. You can also make popsicles with them or make slushies, or have them room temp, or even warm in tea. Thin your thick protein drinks with decaff coffee or tea--make frappacinos, have them iced or warm...whatevs. Have warm broth with a spoon of unflavored protein isolate in it.

Nausea & Feeling Depleted
FluffyChix replied to OriginalGaPeach's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So. Many. Questions. 1. Are you fully hydrated with water? 2. Do you get these feelings with liquids as well as solids? 3. When was the last time you actually pooped and pooped BIG so you know that you are fully evacuated? At 3 weeks, I was "pooping daily"--just small, thin flat "ribbons" of stool. I fully "thought" that I was TCB. I was taking my Miralax and my Colace daily, getting 64+oz of liquids in and getting my 60-74g of protein in each day from a combo of foods and some small amount of Premier Protein. Thought I was good to go, no issues. But suddenly, nothing else would go down. It all came back up and I was cramping badly, projectile vomiting, nauseated big time, and couldn't even keep water or ice chips down. Turns out after a visit to the ER and costly diagnostic tests, that I was constipated and badly backed up with a "semi-blockage." They game me some anti-cramping and nausea meds and told me to go home and start dosing with either MOM or Fleet's Enemas or glycerin suppositories. I did glycerin suppositories and broke things loose and it was Rosemary's baby god-awful! The worse almost-monster-blockage ever. The only other time I get nauseated is in a meal with either too much fat, or too much carbohydrate. I now closely monitor my poop schedule and make sure I'm having real poops, not imposter poops and always stay fully hydrated. Cuz being dehydrated can also cause obscene nausea. -
My longest "run" time is 16minutes so far. Then I do a 2min walk, then do like 5min intervals with 1 min walk between.

Congrats! I'm trying to do that. I'm running inside now that it's so cold!

What are your thoughts on taking our supplements during an extended fast of 48hours? I am currently taking the following, but wonder, if I should only be taking my mult-vitamin? What I take daily: 2 Centrum Silvers 6 Petite Calcium Citrates (1500mg) 3 Mag Citrate Gell Caps (600mg) 1 Iron Chewable Vit (18mg) 1 Thiamine (100mg) 1 Vit D3 (2000mg) What I take every other day: 1 B12 Sublingual (1000mg) 1 Potassium Pill (10meq for low potassium) ************************************ What are y'all taking and what do you think we should do when fasting?
