Jazz Hands! Agreed! Now if we could only convince some more of our little friends to join in, we'd have a right ol' party of it! (You're never alone when you have friends! Or maybe it's "You're never fully dressed without your clothes! er...smile... ha! *snort*) -

Hi guys! My email hasn't changed, yet I got this message popping up wanting me to update my email. And when I did it gave me this message wanting me to re-enter my password. I didn't change my email. It's still valid. And still in use, and I'm getting email notifications from BP. So why am I being prompted to enter my password. Am I being hacked by someone using a disguise of BP in order to capture my pw? Thanks! Fluffy -

I might be tempted into your bachelor week! We don't want to do wifey in! But gotta see how I do with this week! I may be jonesing for my beloved veggies so badly, who knows? Killing is illegal in Texas unless you use the Texas defense: "They needed killin'!" LOL, and so I don't want to endanger anyone's life! So look, all of ya's join. We can make this week about what "clean" eating is to you personally. Just state your plan when you post your updates! It is basically about going back to basics (but not to protein drinks only lol. God forbid!) and cutting out the crap. Eating clean in the most basic derivation evs! Hahaha and your CAMAW week food menu sounds Ahhhhh-mayyyyy-zing! -
Losing Weight in a Different Way
FluffyChix replied to Swanton_Bomb's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
When was the last time you lost 15lbs in less than a month? LOLOLOL? Cuz um, I can say, nevs!!! Congrats, you're doing great btw! And congrats on the 35lb total loss. You are well above the curve and are losing quickly. And yes, it comes off differently for each of us than it did in the past. -
Extreme Intestinal Cramping
FluffyChix replied to Amburmist's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Yep, it happens any time I get semi backed up. Personally, I know the pain is from hard and large poo going through my colon like Sherman through Georgia. But that's just me. It could be so many many many things! Only your doc will know for sure. One of the things could be diverticulitis or diverticulosis...or just a food sensitivity. Apple peel can be hard on some. As can gravy! I make sure I don't go longer than 2 days without a visit from Mr. Hanky. If the schedule on the #2 tracks is more deranged than 2 days out, I call for MOM or for the glycerin suppositories. Cuz homie will not play those games any more. It's tooooooo difficult! LOL. I take daily Miralax, generally keep dairy and cheese to the low side, eat lots of fiber from veggies and psyllium husks and take 2 Colace per day + drink 120+ oz of liquids. And I exercise every day too... -

OK, starting Day 1 of AMAW/CAMAW and am still gonna do my 16/8 or 18/6 stuff daily. I just don't wanna give up my IF. I seriously heart it--and this group! We'll see what happens and see if I can drop closer to below my 148lbs again by end of the week (next Sunday). I'd like to be at 145lbs next Sunday, but it's only a loose target and it does move. Happy Sunday to all!!! -

I seriously heart you girl! I can't even imagine what you've gone through and are presently going through along with all the stress. You have a giant heart and great will. You got this!!!! And you made me snort coffee (hella experience) at the idea of crossing a Chinese crested dog with Ruth Bader Ginsburg. ROFL!!!!! So forkin' funny! ((hugs and great hair wishes for you)) I told someone about my "hair piece" that I put over my 1/2" pony to make my messy bun. She's a hair dresser. I kinda waved at the top of my head and said, "Yeah, this is all smoke and mirrors. I really have about 3 hairs and a wish that are continually looped around my head to make it look like I have hair." LOL, I made an appointment with her for a hair cut next week...*terrified* -

Hahahaha me2!!! I giggled as I typed it out. Maybe our group mascot needs to be the weinie meme from the other thread! ROFL! Very understandable!!! Have an awesome anniversary celebration! I think Atkins '92 is a great program and a great place to get on track. Strictly speaking it honestly is more than the idea of AMAW/CAMAW. But it's a kinder/gentler approach and if it means it helps you get personally back on track and also means you'll hang with us, I'm on board!!! Wooootttt!!!! And for the record, I agree on the importance of veggies! And love love loved Dr. Atkins programs. I'm choosing to do a CAMAW kind of week cuz it so closely simulates our all protein drink pre-op diet without having to go back to only drinking my protein. You know? I was getting about 9g of carbs per day give or take and staying around 500-600 cals maybe? And getting somewhere around 70-80g of protein. Just from the protein drinks. And I could do a reset with that, but it really jacks with my insulin to use that much whey protein isolate--or that much whey protein, period. -

Yay congrats on losing 6.5 stone!!!! Come on aboard! But please don't hold me up as a success story. I'm just a big ol' backsliding hairy sinner trying to muddle my way through it one day at a time! But I bore easily and am alternately easily amused as you can see here! LOL. I LOVE to track stuff in MFP and Excel cuz I'm a freak! -

Hahaha! I honestly have no idea! I am gonna keep the cheese minimal for me. Good Lord, the carnage!!! *SOB* Here's my projected menu for tomorrow. I seem to be "ok" with tiny amounts of cottage cheese...and then the other stuff is just minimal! I do foresee the need to up my Miralax forthwith and also to add back a full serving of my beloved whole psyllium husks. I will NOT count those mother trucking carbs though. I will invoke the Don't Ask/Don't Tell clause. Breakfast: Coffee (decaff, black) Morning "Snack" = 2nd Brekky = Nuked Eggwich with Eggs for the bun Lunch = Tuna Salad with egg/cottage cheese (may have to be 2 meals to get it all in) Dinner = Grilled Chicken with Avocado -

That's so beautiful it makes me cry! *I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!!* Ok, glad to see you back and that you're only up 3lbs! Funny enough, that's where I am as of this morning's poopsicles! Yeeeehawwww! Woooohooo on the Dells, square dancing, hot tubs, and CARDIO! 🤩 We missed you. Don't ever leave us again. Ok, so hop over to the AMAW CAMAW thread tomorrow and start with "us" (pssst, it may be only you, me, and the crickets!) Do it your way. Just like at Burger King! I'm so jealous of your starter. You may be drying some and mailing it to me. hehehe. I used to keep one and threw it out when we started low carb in 2000. But now, I'm thinking I would convert it to spelt starter and then use it sparingly with cauliflower flower and some low carb flour alternatives and fiber flours! It would be fun to speriment! I'm starting my baking tomorrow with my Christmas Bread - 3cheese Italian Pagnotta bread. Very high hydration and can be done with either a poolish or with a starter. Both turn out great! I am also making Union Cafe Bar Pecans, and will do shortbread, oatmeal raisin, choco chip with nuts, and that may be it. I'm never tempted to eat the cookies. And I'm ok not eating the bread. I usually eat 1/4 of a slice over Christmas/New Years time. No biggie. But it's a crapton of time on my feet--which isn't a bad thing! I will probably do the cookies week after next. We can be baking buddies! -

Well, it's kinda like this..."Don't Ask/Don't Tell" bahahahaha! If that's what it takes to keep you with us, then I don't think that a couple of handfuls of raw spinach or super greens is gonna hairlip the Pope. But strictly speaking? There are supposed to be no veggies in AMAW and CAMAW. But I can assure you? I WILL be using a bit of condiment here and there. Hello Vlasic Dill Relish in my tuna salad...a green onion in my egg salad. You see? And, if my ketones get too high and start sparking a cortisol dump (which has happened to me on account of my BS metabolism and hyperinsulinemia), then I WILL be grabbing a handful or two of spinach to gently bring me into a more shallow ketotic state. (I just probably won't broadcast it here.) This is kinda doing "caveman" style or Atkins '72 style of low carb for 1 week only. Just to be cray and shake things up. I like to do that once in a while. -

AMAW/CAMAW - Let's do this thang!
FluffyChix replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
For instance, here's my individual goal for the week. I choose to do CAMAW and here are my macros for the week. Mkay? My calorie goal is gonna be about 700cals/day. Carbs = 9g (5%) Protein = 79g (45%) Fat = 39g (50%) ***** This is just MY macro/caloric goal. Your goal needs to be set to meet your needs. OK? So if you workout like a beast you will need more cals, more protein, more fat, etc! Right? You may have different caloric goals--go for it! But I'm just a shrinky dinky old lady of 5'4" and standard build at 148lbs (about 108lbs or about 50kgs give or take of LBM). My protein prescription for my daily 1 hour of exercise that includes walking + strength training with isometric whole body movements and bands 3 days a week = LBM in kg x 1.5g/kg of LBM = 75g of protein*. *Since I use the free MFP program, this is the best I can do to figure macros because they only allow using 5point increments to adjust your daily food goals. -

Out With the Old--In With the New!

Posting this. I borrowed from someone on Facebook. Thought the tips for maxing success through months 6-12 were pretty cool and worth consideration! So I may try a few! This is from Dr. Apel at Blossom. I don't know him at all. He's not my doc. But thought these were pretty cool! -
I was going to call this Break On Through To The Other Side (thank you Doors). But I figured I'd get sick of it after a while. I'm going to use this space to keep track on the 2 week march toward surgery and then to keep track of the recovery and progress. That way I can keep it all together and if I just do one thread, it's all in one place without clogging up the Blog Area. I'm sure it's gonna be excruciatingly boring to everyone--me included! I'm a list and minutia kinda gal. I like tracking and counting--although I can be equally lax about crap. So I stop just short of OCD town (not that there's anything wrong with that). My official 2 week liquid diet starts tomorrow. I decided to jump on it today because Sunday feels like a great place to start and because it's hard to do better than yesterday as my last food day before surgery. I'm a Texan, born and raised, and yesterday we had a fairwell to my ass and thighs via a Texas BBQ tour through Houston and Tomball. I ate so much brisket, sausage and ribs, I can honestly claim to be over it. Growing up in a BBQ family, slow smoked meats is almost in my blood. So it was only natural that I would choose that as the last rights. I'm having RNY on February 20th and as I understand it, moist (fatty) brisket might not be my friend post surgery. Supposedly high fat foods (which moist brisket is) might cause a sort of "dumping" in the poop department. So I figure my future, once healed, might only include lean cuts of brisket and smoked meats. It's a choice I will readily make to lose weight and get my health back. So the morning Day 1 hasn't been very difficult--a little hunger and growly tummy, but nothing that makes me feel anxiety. Protein drinks on board and this afternoon will shop for SF popsicles, SF jello and bone broth. I think I'll stick to packaged bone broth so I can get the actual nutritional information from a certified source. There's no real way for me to tell how many calories and carbs are in the bone broth I make here at home. My Pre-Op Plan includes: 80-100g of protein; low fat; 60g carbs and somewhere around 1000cals per day. 4-5 Protein Drinks containing a minimum of 15g of protein per serving. They must be low fat and low sugar and can't contain over 4g of sugar per serving. I can have clear low sodium broths, sugar free drinks, sugar free jello and sugar free clear popsicles (no fudgsicles or ice cream based pops). I will do this from now until February 20th. I'm pretty sure I will be doing plenty of the following:
