Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
FluffyChix replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Don't be tempted by Luby's any longer. They've gone downhill so so so badly. *sniff* But your Paschal's plate...hold me. And yes, love mes some meat & 3!!!! And carbs + gravy or carbs + fat almost equal the holy trinity. The blessed triumvirate of fatdom! -
Watch comedies!!! As many comedies as you can! Follow your plan (the plan from the surgeon). Get outside to do your walking or go to the mall to do it. Know that you are going through "The Deep Suck" all at once! And it "might" get worse before it gets better. But be assured...The Deep Suck ends! It honestly does!!! And you WILL feel better/look better/feel happiness and find someone to share your new life with!! You can do this! Talk freely about your feelings with family and close friends! Go to a grief/support group through church. Lean on people if you need! I'm so sorry you're going through this -- especially right now. Don't sabotage. You've come too far!!!

Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's weight loss challenge
FluffyChix replied to Healthy_life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Ok, here's my manifesto to myself to get back on track with the losing rather than gaining the Christmas 10: I know in the early days pre-WLS, there wasn't much livin going on. I was isolating, felt bad (terrible), slept bad, and it was an all or nothing focus to eat as nutritionally dense and calorically light as I could. No cheating, no booze, no party of any kind. We just worked, ate, slept and watched a lot of tv. I wasn't even exercising at that point! I had very few clothes that fit, very few shoes, and didn't want to be around people cuz I felt like I was under scrutiny all the time--especially eating out in restaurants. And we never really got into fast food that much cuz of Mr. F's allergies--so there was no drive-thru to hide behind. But now we have many social invitations/obligations and business networking things and I have my new thrift shop wardrobe and I feel good in my skin/clothes. I feel like Mr. F. is proud to be seen with me and like I've turned the clock back about 20 years. And I'm happy and am feeling SO much better physically and sleeping quite a bit better too. And so I don't want to just sit home and watch tv and isolate--especially towards the weekend! I can do S-W, but Th-Fri-Sat, I start to get itchy feet! And I know it's not so practical at Christmas to change this up again and revert to the old isolation-straight-and-narrow gig, but I CAN go back to the menus that made me lose. And start eating some of them again! At least from S-W and maybe even Thursday! I CAN negotiate new rules of engagement for being out and about on Fri-Sat. Rules that don't ruin the rest of the week but still allow me to socialize and be with Mr. F. without totally going off the rails. My goal to get back on track is to shake things up again so that things are fun and interesting again in the diet/weight loss/scale game! I'm still gonna do some IF, maybe even ADF with calorie restriction, but mainly go back to the menus that worked. I will also try to get back down to my ticker weight by Christmas. I think that's do-able. I will take the big holidays "off" but not in between. I'm gonna go post this as my reminder over on the challenge thread too. LOL. -
Ok I'ma answer this one for myself and hopefully everyone else will as well. I know in the early days there wasn't much livin going on. No! I totally get it and understand your feelings! So the big question and it's BIG!!! What were each of us feeling in the early days when we were so gung ho and were able to withstand doing without? Were we isolating? How were we resisting temptation in the early days? This was even pre-op!!!

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability

Yeah, you had to catch Luby's in its heyday. And it's also cultural. We grew up eating the LuAnn platter. LOL. We were so little, we literally would split a LuAnn! -
I want to wear the LBD in the upper right corner! I'd have to get a new life first though in order to have some place to wear it!

Luby's in its glory days was the quintessential home cookin' cafeteria you could go to and get all of your cravings satisfied with one tray...#misstheolddays -

Not judging here (super envy)--but um, it does kinda "read" like a meal from Luby's aka "Song of the South". We pretty much believe if it "ain't carby or fatty" it has no use. And rice and gravy + mac and cheese + corn would be part of any last meal I could plan. It would probably also have fried okra and Salsbury or smothered steak. There. I said it. -
Struggling to find things not to like about RR and TCA wardrobe? I try to dress in some similarly figure outlining clothes all the time. And take not-so-secret vain pleasure doing it. Even though I know I will never look "hot". LOL. I'm ok with that. I at least want to feel "not dowdy" any more.

Damn now I'ma have to go rewatch TCA!

Then did you pinch your fingers together and "asplode" her head? 🤓

Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's weight loss challenge
FluffyChix replied to Healthy_life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Ugh! I feel ya sistah!!! So after particularly bad choices this weekend where I actually found to my horror that I do not dump...I'm up to 153 (from 148). Even though analytically, I know I haven't gained 5 lbs from a couple of Christmas cookies and a few Lay's potato chips, I shudder at how quickly the pounds pack on me, and how slowly they are to leave as you say! Even in the honeymoon phase they take damn long to leave! *SOB* I am such a great rationalizer. Why do you think we humans are so good at that? I do love Mondays cuz for the most part the top of the week, is habitually the time when I nut up and knuckle down on hijinx and get back into the right frame of mind...but by Thursday or Friday? I'm lookin' to sin again. *le sigh* So today I went back and looked at the early months/calories/macros when I was losing so outstandingly. My plan is to resolve for 1 day only -- cuz I can endure anything for 1 day -- to use a menu from those days and eat according to that plan. By hook or by crook, I'm sticking the landing today. Then tomorrow, I will recommit my bad self. I guess maybe we'll talk again on Thursday lol... -
Girl congrats! You're 7lbs from first goal!!! Woooohoooo. That's so exciting!!! I hear ya on the "GAS" stuff. LOL! That's it!!! We need to buy GAS! Ha! *snort* Now where do we buy it? I love the idea of hittin up your therapist! Do you still see your RD?

I know this is the holidays and all which presents a unique set of challenges for us, but beyond that...if there is a "beyond" for that. Do any of you Sophomores find yourself losing focus or struggling to retain the initial thrill of the post weight loss lifestyle? Are you starting to "live again," maybe go out, indulge in not-so-therapeutic activities that keep you from maximizing weight loss for the month? Are you still actively in the losing phase or are you somewhere between your first goal and final goal? Just curious about the things you do to keep the spice alive and momentum up! Cuz you know...diet fatigue happens!

Under 400LBS for the first time in over 7 years!!!

Congrats!!!!! -
In the strictest sense per Dr. Atkins, a stall is considered to be 3 weeks with no move on the scale or measuring tape. The second is as important as the first...
-
Why do you show a surgery date of 2/7/14??? Aren't you only 3 months out or less? Technically tweeners are somewhere 6-9 months and beyond including vets. Just curious.

Ok here's mine...mind you--it pales next to the things you guys are dealing with but... I have a beak for a mouth. There. I said it. (And I ate 1 chocolate chip cookie that I stood and baked today for a party...didn't touch the oatmeal raisins though--my gran's recipe--#ballsofsteel...so far no hurling but I'm a little afraid...)
-
Dang girl!!! Maybe we need to get you and @Orchids&Dragons in a hot tub and let you guys simmer for an hour or two with wine and hydration of course (water) and when y'all emerge, your iron stuff would balance out? I'm sorry you're dealing with this too. Do you have to do blood transfusions or do you keep it stable with iron infusions? ((hugs)) Saying big prayers for you too!!
-
Dang girl! ((hugs)) You know, it just goes to show that no one knows the "load" someone else is carrying! You never say a word about anything that is bothering you. And yet, this is great big bad scary larry stuff you're dealing with along with the other stuff we've talked about over the months since we first met and became friends! ((hugs)) I'm sad to hear this hon! So maybe, um, just spitballing here...you should begin a leech farm? Just thinkin' out loud...yes? Yes? You know, I read on another board where someone had high blood calcium levels and it was because she was actually not absorbing her calcium and it was leeching from her bones. And when she actually upped her calcium and added some other things that you take in order to help the calcium get to where it's supposed to, then high calcium resolved. I hope it turns out to be something like that!!! Saying big prayers over here. When do you go see your kidney doc? Maybe you should research Dr. Fung IF and hemachromatosis? Maybe IF is our magic bullet? (But then that's another thread...)
