Sophomoreville - A Home For The the Tweeners

I've said it before and will say it again...I want to be you when I grow up!!! (Or at least look like you do, have your pouch size, and own those boots you have in your closet on the second shelf from the right.) bahahahaha! Your Christmas menus sound FABulous!! Emphasis on the smoked prime rib and smoked ahi belly and poke. LOL, guess they didn't get the memo about "protein first" so they didnt' know to send the doggy bag?

Oh yeah. That would be HARRRRRRDDDDDDDD!!! I don't keep contraband in the house and Santa brought me a single package of white cheddar cheese nips...Guess what I had for breakfast Christmas morning!? How do you do it?

Ok, do y'all notice this: That despite the 3-6months of pre-op "diet and behavior practice" + the 6+ months post op where you kinda have "enforced" or "semi-enforced" compliance with the continued work on developing good habits and behaviors...that it's ALWAYS easier to be a good girl and make healthy choices when you're in your own environment on your old schedules? Today is the first day literally in almost a month where I'm home, and things are basically routine and I'm fairly shocked how easy it's been to revert to my old boring stand-by meals/meal schedule. This morning I have my beloved "super egg mcmuffinless wrap" made with a pre-cooked Jimmy Dean turkey sausage, egg whites and egg and a 1/2piece of lite cheese wrapped in baby super greens. With a side of grape tomatoes. Yummy! And for lunch I had a turkey rollup with super greens and grape tomatoes. Easy Peasy. And super on track. Now whyyyyyy do I have so much difficulty making "good choices" when I'm out foxing around with Mr. F and not in my environment? Do you guys experience the same issues with behaviors?

  5. Come Jan. 2nd, I'm back on this IF bad boy!!!! I'm kinda half-assedly doing it now. I know @sillykitty is travelling and is IFing like a skinny beast!!!! Who else is doing IF this week? I wish I could claim to be, but I'm not. LOL. I will say, that I'm amazed I'm holding steady at my "range" weight. 151 this morning doesn't suck so much!

    'Ropey' Fat/Hard Fatty Nodules?

OMG universal sizes. PLEASE!!! Need so dang bad! I'm 151 this morning and 5'4" (barely) and seriously, I tried on an Ann Taylor size 12 dress that fits like a glove (TY Sissy!) and where stretchy jeans from size 8 to a size 12! Derp! I wear a size M or L top depending. But it's all over the board! And if it's not stretchy? I'm probably in a 14-16!! And it's all store-dependent! Gah!

Wooohooo! Welcome and glad you found us!!! Wooohooo on personal trainers and shaping that thin little bod girlie!!! You look amazing and I'm so excited for your new Size 4 dress. Holy moly!!!! So wonderful and inspirational! Can't speak to the plastics part. Want it so bad--but you know, prolly won't ever get it. But I totally agree...the visible parts are the most important and having a "firm chest" is very visible! Oh the hair though...*sigh* What topper do you use/love? What colors? I'm about to pull the trigger on one, but am so confused which way to go! I've no idea if my hair will ever return. And each week it gets thinner and thinner! I'm glad your's is growing back though!!! (I've no idea what happened with the MG stuff. I just wanted to remind those who may have forgotten that sometimes it's important for a "like group" on a time line to hear from each other rather than those who may not know what we're going through at the moment. I am sure the VETS get this need. And I certainly respect their right to their own board! They deserve it. I certainly wouldn't go b***h about being excluded cuz I've not lived 18months or more with my new anatomy. Thinks that make you go hmmm...)
  10. Oh I love this guy almost as much as I love your other dude!! They're both so inspiring and informative! Wow! Yeah that's what I've been doing during Christmas...taking my "2 weeks off"! hehehe!

Welcome!!! Sorry for the confusion!!!! I hope someone hops on and talks turkey with us! I actually don't know if I have this problem. My vision isn't so good at a distance and I avoid looking at myself too closely! It keeps teary breakdowns to a minimum. ((hugs)) Congrats on goal and on maintaining!!!! Woooooottttt! WTG on tracking again!!!
  12. Great menu example!!!! IMHO part of the trouble people experience with getting their protein in and eating is at least partially related to hydration issues. If you are dehydrated, your pouch is sticky and finicky. It makes it harder for food to go down and it hangs around in your pouch longer--you get full faster. I've heard this explained on YouTube but can't remember which doc talked about it. I know for me, my RNY tummy if I don't get all my fluids in is more finicky and I have early satiety if I'm too dried out and irritated.

    Changing tastes, wasted food

Sorry to hear this. I thankfully didn't have any food aversions or weird changing tastes. I do "crave" and prefer low fat very fresh, healthy foods versus the usual heavy, comforty foods of the South. (BTW, I am getting to the point where I hate most leftovers!) My RD taught me about this option and she said, it's not unusual for her peeps to be doing this for a year or two post surgery. One strategy at your stage would be to: 1. Keep drinking 1 protein drink (in coffee or whatevs) to get in 25-30g of protein. 2. Make your other 2 meals, protein dense with 2-3oz of protein that you know you can finish. If you have room for veggies beyond that, then you have 1-2oz of cooked veg (=1/3-1/2cup). 3. Have 2 small snacks. These are made from things like salads or cooked veg! It may or may not have a little cheese or protein in it. Think small salads! Yum!!! They are VERY VERY low calorie (think 100cals or less). 4. Have a last optional bedtime snack if you are still hungry or need to get in the balance of your macros for the day.

    Nutrition

On 99% of my days, I loosely have the following: 600-900 cals 60-80g protein (about 240-320 cals from protein) 20-50g carbs (about 80-200 cals from carbs) healthy fats that make up the balance of the calories (9cals/gram of fat).

    'Ropey' Fat/Hard Fatty Nodules?

Yeah. Me 2. I think it may be "somewhat" normal? But there is also a thing called https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=11&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjk88fnxMLfAhUMRKwKHWjlBukQFjAKegQIChAB&url=https%3A%2F%2Frarediseases.info.nih.gov%2Fdiseases%2F12925%2Ffamilial-multiple-lipomatosis&usg=AOvVaw3DaGcGyAYssz7KYS-Ndj3t It's a rare disease, has a genetic component and is more prevalent in females. I think I probably have it. I literally can count hundreds of these on my trunk and legs. Gross stuff.

I thought I was in the clear...

Ok, my advice? Do not grow complacent about this! Act now. And Colace might not be enough. Go for the MOM and keep dosing until you are totally running free! I just had this happen AGAIN!!!! (Am I yelling? Cuz it sounds like I am! ha!) I found out in a colonoscopy I had poop in there dating to 1984! So I did MOM and glycerin suppositories AND Miralax AND Colace. ROFL! Seriously. If you are bleeding you should probably tell your doc. And def tell him/her if you're trying all this stuff and still not moving. Also drink TONS - TONNNNNNNSSSSSS of liquid when you're adding all of that stuff. When things are broken free, try adding in things like psyllium, inulin, leafy greens (cooked and raw=the best for me). ((hugs)) I'm so sorry you are going through this #2 train derailment.

OMG. This!!! A meeeeeellllllion times, this! ^^^^ That's all this thread is supposed to be about! It's official...you complete me. Exactly! I was hoping this thread would be a "test" case to help convince Alex and Ken of the need for our own little wonderland. Cuz it IS hard being in between--and staying focused to meet our goal when diet fatigue is hard on our heels!

LOL. When did I unfollow you? As far as I remember (which isn't much longer than about a hot minute), I was never one of your followers. LOL. Sorry. Where am I "overheated" and "throwing a temper tantrum? Hahaha! Sorry you're giving yourself and this thread way too much importance in my life. (For the record I actually have no idea how to "unfollow" someone, nor block them. Way too much effort involved.)

    Turkey Necks

IKR!!!! There is not enough link love in the universe for me to show you my proper respects on this subject!!!!
  21. Yeah you are (from the South), cuz of your mama and daddy. The two of them gave you that accent and the primordial love of all things rice. ROFL! South Carolina has their "golden rice" that is a heritage breed and base so many dishes on rice. And amplify that for Louisiana! And as long as you're talking Michigan, don't forget about the wild rice fields up there!
