YVW! It hit me the same way so had to share with my friends! I remember when I first realized I was capable of #1! It literally meant the end of panic attacks and also crippling depression. Realizing I had the power to change my life was the first step in the path to healing and to bringing me to where I am today.

I soooo get THIS! Me too, right?!!! For some reason, the "BIG" goal feels unattainable/scary/meh...something. And then I get to feeling so complacent with how good I'm doing "where I'm at" that I just lose sight of the big finish and so never finish. I feel like having mini, attainable goals, helps to at least let me feel some sense of continued accomplishment? But...I haven't been successful fully with this method, so maybe I'm missing that second step of "the big picture" down the road that will require deferred gratification? Yes! This is kinda my takeaway from that article! The bigger/grander vision! I really WANT that. You know? (And I now ALSO want to be Renee Russo in TCA with a hot bod/face/hair and a great wardrobe and for Mr. F. to be rollin' in dough with an internationally famous art collection! Bravo on deferring eating that 3rd shard of toffee!!! Woooootttt!!!
  4. Wooohooo! Going over to look at your game/challenge in the lounge! I'm back with a vengence!!! I'm looking for @sillykitty's 18:6 today! Then when I do eat, I'm looking to keep solid Atkins Induction. LOL, I LIKE complicating things and making games out of weight loss! My goal? I'm shooting now for Goal #2. Don't know how slow or fast that will go, but I predict I will have a pretty quick 4lb loss within the week from glycogen stores/water loss as I get back into ketosis. I'm super pumped to be "refreshed" from taking a holiday break! Anyone else feel a new resolve to hit the ground running now on January 2?!!! Post like hos!!!!! Oh Jan.2nd update: CW 150.4lbs. I will take that as a Christmas win to only be up from lowest wt by 2lbs and to be "at goal #1 weight" or in the neighborhood...
  5. Challenge End Tally: Challenge Starting weight: 148.4lbs Current Weight: 150.4lbs Curre1nt weight lost: 138.6lbs (Beginning Wt. 287lbs) Losing or maintaining weight: Losing!!!!! (hopefully or at least maintaining) Working on Goal#2 - 140lbs Fitness/exercise goal: Exercise 6-7 days per week with 3 days being strength building with bands Total weight loss at the end of challenge: (Post January 1st 2019) 151.4lbs (+2lbs) Check in: Tell us how you are doing - (How is your diet and exercise plan going? Any struggles? Stress level? What have you overcome? Any strategies that have helped)--I'm finished the challenge strong, but sick with a yucky cold. Very little stress heading into January. Don't have any worries about over eating or eating "the wrong things." Although, clearly I indulged over Christmas. In between indulgences I was able to modify my eating and make "cuts" to keep cals/carbs low to try to offset the more liberal "treat" meals/alcohol. Very little exercise during this time, because our schedules were so busy and I didn't have the energy to exercise on top of how active I was. Am off all meds now except Letrozole, thyroid, and supplements. BP is in remission, blood sugars/insulin in remission, cancer in remission, asthma in remission, degenerative arthritis in remission, pain is reduced over 50%, sleeping has improved 100%. Thank you so much for doing this challenge @Healthy_life!!! Although I suck at them (as you can see), I do think it helped keep me from going completely off-track this holiday season!!! I'm actually pretty proud to only be 2lbs up after Christmas. I'm used to it being 10lbs at least! So I kinda feel like I was able to "maintain my current weight" even though I'm not at goal yet. You rock girlie!!! Happy New Year to you my sweet friend!!

Ok, so many of us struggle with diet fatigue. We get to a level where we feel great in our clothes, and life is taking off again and we're comfy in our bodies and are having fun loving life. We ARE successful. But we still may be 10-25lbs out from goal! What's a person to do to recapture that lovin' feeling and re-amp the diet and exercise and mindset back to losing? I saw this article and I think it could definitely be applied to us and our situations!! What do you think? https://getpocket.com/explore/item/the-2-mental-shifts-highly-successful-people-make

    Lunch box meals help

Yeah, I'd have emergency rations stored in my locker, then just bring my daily lunch. I'd do easy (things not requiring a knife... haha) and repetitious. turkey rollups lettuce wraps tuna/cottage cheese/egg salad and cucumber slices boiled egg + leftover meat diced with grape tomatoes soup in a insulated thermous Salad in a jar leftovers from the night before

Wooohooooo! Great thread!!!! TY @sideeye for starting a thread that will hopefully make sense to all the Sophomores, so they find a home here with us!! Wooot!!! Sorry to be MIA. Swamped yesterday and through tonight! So not much time to play--just a "union-sanctioned coffee break" to rest my feet/back from massive cooking efforts 2%er semi-homemade shenanigans for a party today at my sissie's house! Will be back tomorrow to post like the ho you know I am! ha! Ok WELCOME home @Orchids&Dragons (don't know why that won't tag--hmmm--are you REALLY here?)!!! We missed you and were slightly terrified you were gone! I had visions of you goin' postal and rippin someone a new a-hole...but then I had to laugh, cuz I could only see my bobblehead on top of your skinny minny little body! *snort* You are too sweet to go postal on anyone! I did an official weigh-in. I too am up. Too many holiday craptastic-filled meals and wine. But tomorrow the days of atonement begin and the march to victory resumes! I have 30 days to lose 25lbs. Can it be done? ha! (Hint: Who am I? bahahahaha--I have 3 days to lose 25lbs before my surgery. I'm really askeered. Will I still be able to have it?) Jan. 1, 2019 CW: 151.4lbs (up 1.4lbs over first goal, up about 3 over lowest wt); Waist: 29.5inches (no change)

Welcome!!! Ok, spill it! What color/brand of spray on color do you use? I am right there with you. I presently use this "eye shadow" for your scalp, then set it with hairspray (Big Sexy Hair). I use dark brown and kinda scrub it in. Then I also use the BSH volumizer powder to "fump it up". I also do backcomb close to the head and set it in with a straightening iron, so it lasts a couple of days. Ugh! I used to have such thick hair. Congrats on being below goal girl!!!! Woooohoooo!!! (And quit snacking! Eat 2-3 meals per day and be done with it!!)

How often should you go to the bathroom?

Every time I have a CT, they come in and tell me I still have a metric crapton of poo from 1982 stuck "way up on in there." 🤣 So no way to I allow it to lurk and hang around up there more than necessary, recruiting new Mr. Hankies. I move so slowly now with the iron supp that I take Miralax, 3 Colace every day. And I take MOM at least 1x every couple of weeks. Sometimes even glycerine suppositories if I have a Rosemary's Baby size situation develop. I get into huge issues if I don't have one at least every other day...but I'm happiest with a daily poo fairy visit. YMMV...

Ok, all you little pasta lovers who are low carb. Quick, go buy these!!! Ermagerd! This is a cross post to a thread in the Post Op Food section. I also did a review. LOL. Seriously, I NEVER do reviews (almost never). So. Dang. Good!!! Ok guys!! I was about to post my own thread on these noodles I got in the BP store: Zeroodles with Oat Fiber (Spaghetti and Angel hair shapes). I've loved and used Shirataki noodles for years as part of our low carb life. My fave shapes are angel hair, linguini, spaghetti, and "rice" which are more like the shape of Israeli Cous Cous. But other brands are packed in a Calcium hydroxide bath or something like that -- which smells fishy. So you pour that off, rinse like hell, then tump em into a dry non-stick pan on high heat to jump around and sizzle until all moisture is cooked off. Then you add your favorite sauce to them. Yummy!!! Or put em into Soup or a casserole. So good. But still, you had to deal with the initial smell, and they had more of a seaweed crunch. But the Zeroodles with Oat Fiber are amazing!!! You get 2x or more as much quantity of noodles as you do from other brands. They are almost dry-packed, so no smell! And so easy to make. We still rinse and dry fry until very dry, but that takes literally 5 minutes. Then we use with sauce or in soup! Score!!!! So dang good. I'm ordering more this week! The texture on these is so much better. The oat fiber adds a softer, almost zero crunch chew! It's also very good for you. They are both soluble fiber and help you gut microbiome and health! Soluble fiber also helps improve your cholesterol ratios in favor of the good cholesterol! So it's really healthy. I would just caution, that you need to be healed from surgery first and be able to get your Protein in--cuz they are filling. Your bowels also need to be moving well. And you need to remember to eat slowly, small bites, and to chew very well! I have no problemos digesting them and I've had an RNY. I'm in love! I'm in love! And I don't care who knows!!!! https://store.bariatricpal.com/products/zeroodle-organic-premium-shirataki-protein-pasta-spaghetti-with-oat-fiber https://store.bariatricpal.com/products/zeroodle-organic-premium-shirataki-protein-pasta-angel-hair-with-oat-fiber https://store.bariatricpal.com/products/zeroodle-organic-premium-shirataki-protein-pasta-rice-with-oat-fiber

  21. Don't believe everything on the internet. Your surgical team will have its own unique activity rules and you will have education about it. But ask lots of questions!! My doc and team had me up walking the first day and every day thereafter for as long as I could. They wanted me to work toward walking 1 hour continuous each and every day. At 6 weeks, I was released to do weight training. I had and uncomplicated RNY (laparascopic)
