This is technically my 3rd day, but I will do 2 today to catch up with the rest of you peeps!! #3 2018 Goals (doesn't matter cuz they're history) a. Not to die b. To do whatever it took to get RNY #4 Proudest 2018 Moment: Making 1st Goal. It sounds cray to be fixated so much on a number, but it's what that number (150lbs) represented. I hadn't seen it since high school and honestly never thought I would see it again. At that weight I was able to live freely, and what I thought was a healthy lifestyle. I had very very few limits and even though I felt like I was "fat"--cuz come on...it's high school. We all thought we were fat! I didn't let my body image or weight hold me back from participating in life. So I felt like if I could hit 150lbs again, then this surgery (and I) really did "work it" to make it back. I'm back! This was my goal #1 photo: Oh, any today I'm back to my ticker weight. It's official. Fatsgiving/Christmas/New Year gain is gone! Wooohooo!

Creamsickle "semi-homemade" MOM. (I didn't make the MOM, just flavored it up from unflavored zero carb version...) 🍾 (so so so sick of having interruptions to the #2 train schedule...just sayin'...) -
Pixie cut and hair loss - 5/6 months out

Pictures or you don't exist (to borrow from @GreenTealael). I'm afraid we're gonna need corroboration on this one. (Sorry for jacking your thread OP!) -
But on an upbeat note, that tea party looks adorable!!! I wish I had a granny like you! (And the bread looks very small on the cucumber sammys...how bad could it be?) The cookie and potato roll however, we're going to have to beat you. Bend over...;) *snic* Go sleep girl! ((hugs))

Hey! Let's do shots everyone!!! Cheers!!! -
Congrats on your 6 months of success!!! My 6 month weight loss was around 3lbs as well. But that was also when I was increasing food volume to 850cals per day up from 600-700/day. Rationally? I think you are eating at maintenance during a time when you need to be averaging 600-800cals/day. I also think your carbs are too high at 100g and I'd cut the calories from liquids like a bad cold. I'd go back to basics and see if your weight loss picks back up. But...it could also be the well-documented 6month stall too. *disclaimer: I have a bias towards a low carb lifestyle and don't play a doctor or RD on tv or the internet.*

Hilarious! What's a husk? One thing about the wind down milky chai or cocoa? Go with the milky chai, and each night over the next week, you simply put a little less and a little less in the tea. Ditch the cocoa if you can, but you could have decaff coffee and put a couple ounces of chocolate Premier Protein. Similar taste, less cals/carbs. AND then you start cutting it back til eventually you are satisfied with a black drink. -
Dietician Stuff...help me not be a jerk...
FluffyChix replied to 🅺🅸🅼🅼🅸🅴🅺's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I was 222.4lbs the day of surgery. I was circling the drain at 5'4" and close to going under the 35BMI level. Everyone was a bit nervous. Just fair warning. But it sounds like you've got it figured out...so I'ma jump off the thread. Good luck! -

Keep in mind they may have their own goals for you...such as they may not want you to lose too much in the next 6 months...Some report on weight at the 1st visit to compute BMI, and some report at the end to compute it. If you are below 40BMI, you have to have 1 comorbidity that is recognized by the insurance company as a comorbidity. -
Advil is an Nsaid. My surgeon said nomore nsaids ever (even with sleeve)... I would think some of the sugar free liquids from tylenol would be ok, or the pills? But dunno. Have a cold too and am only hydrating like crazy and drinking tons of hot tea and hot green tea. Feel better soon!

And there we have it people. I can't afford to gain 1.8lbs right now!

I leveled with my real life RD and told her of my needs. She set up a low carb plan. And I followed it. And I lost around 60lbs or so while on the program? -
Vitamins and Calcium Routines
FluffyChix replied to Swanton_Bomb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used to take the Celebrate Chewable Multis, Calcium Chews, Iron Chewables, B12 sublingual, Biotin sublingual, D3 drops. But I got tired of the extra calories and carbs and switched to capsules where I can. I still take the B12 and Biotin as sublinguals though. I take these daily and get as many vitamins as I can from the Bariatric Pal store. They are pretty awesome and will get the order out mostly on the same day. I get my packages like within 2 days of ordering and they are very helpful with the order. The other ones they don't have, I either get from Vitacost or Amazon: 3 Celebrate Multi-vits (without calcium or iron) Capsules 1500mg Calcium Citrate Capsules from Solaray (2 capsules make 500mg, so I take 6 capsules per day) https://www.vitacost.com/solaray-calcium-citrate-240-capsules 100mg Thiamine Capsules 50mg Zinc caplets 2000iu Vitamin D3 Capsules 500mg sublingual B12 28mg Biferrous Iron (Feosol) Caplet 2000mg Vitamin C Caplets 5000mg Biotin 3 Colace 18g Miralax -
Advice from a veteran
FluffyChix replied to Amanda Dutton LPC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on 14 years!!! And thank you for sharing! -
I've gone back to doing both cuz of an issue I'm having and the gastro-guy told me I had to stick to my small meals=1cup total volume per my surgeon and RD. So. What I found is: 1oz by weight of most meat (either ground or diced small) will fill up 1/4cup of volume. (I've confirmed this with chicken, turkey, and prime rib.) Therefore, 2oz by weight=about 1/2cup of volume. 2-2.5oz of veg by weight will fill up 1/2 cup of volume. (I've confirmed this with asparagus, broccoli steamed, and cauliflower roasted.) So if you are concerned about over eating your 1 cup recommendation, then I would weigh AND measure. That way you know how much protein you're getting, but even more importantly, you are certain that you aren't overeating larger meals which can create problems down the road. I just set 1/2cup measure on the scale and cube things up real small and measure onto the scale. That way I know both...

Pixie cut and hair loss - 5/6 months out

Yes. It's normal. But here's the thing. It's your responsibility to figure it out. Figure out a way to get your protein in. We all did it. Ask your doc what your protein goal is for this early out. Many only had a 40-48g protein total. By the end of my first week, I was getting 60g in. I ate according to a timer and schedule and not because I was hungry. And 60g is only 2 drinks. Add a spoon of protein powder to your yogurt to up the protein total. Add an ounce of Protein Drink to your yogurt to thin it out. Add protein powder to your eggs (unflavored). If you tolerate cheese, add some cheese. I love cottage cheese cooked with scrambled eggs. It melts! Who knew?

How did everyone do yesterday??? Spill it!!! I had a great 16:8 day yesterday. Didn't make it to 18:6, but hey, that's how I roll. I was fairly compliant but tangled with some smokehouse almonds around 8pm last night. Gotta get a better plan! Will try for 18:6 today though which will be first meal at 2pm--totally do-able! Had good but not super macros. And won't report my weight cuz I think it has to be a fluke and won't hold. If it holds through tomorrow, will report it. -
Ok here goes - my update for today...I did great yesterday until I fell into an ounce of smokehouse almonds Santa brought me in my stocking...LOL. Notice I'm totally innocent? hehe #1. DONE! #2. January Goals: Log everything in MFP Don't cheat on my food plan Walk 6 days per week for at least 1 hour total Weight train or core exercises 3 days per week Minimize alcohol or stop it completely Shoot for 140lbs by January 31 when I see my gorgeous PS to talk about getting the girls reworked and getting "nerples"
