Non-Vets Able to Post in Vets Forum?
FluffyChix replied to FluffyChix's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
Derp! TY for bringing that up. Guilty of not doing a search before posting!!! So sorry for the unnecessary post and thanks for sharing the link! -
Here is my progress pic from yesterday. 1 week finished. Today is the start of week 2 for me. I can't tell any difference. LOL. There's about 4.5 lbs difference between the photos.

Yeah, that is why you only add 1 thing at a time and do it slowly...like every 2-3 days or so. And then, some days things go down easily, other days not. I found hydration levels hugely determined how easily food would slide through my new anatomy. On days when I was dehydrated, I experienced more pain on eating things.

questions for post op.....
FluffyChix replied to Abbey M.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes. Normal. Takes time. I took liquid tylenol for it. -
So then stop eating it. LOL. Wait a couple weeks, then try again. You are one of the peeps who don't do well with chicken right now. Or you can try eating it with a gravy. Go back to fish. Poached or lightly sauteed. Go back to tuna from a pouch, maybe chicken from a pouch mixed with low fat mayo or avocado. Go back to soft scrambled eggs, soft boiled eggs, eggs fried in very little fat over easy. Cottage cheese, yogurt, ricotta bake, refried beans with cheese. Or make stews from ground turkey/ground chicken and cook until very tender. I also ate canned corned beef hash (nasty but some like it).

So your thighs are smaller relative to your hiney. Correct?

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
FluffyChix replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I actually made it to dinner without eating. So 5:30 was about 21 hours. But, had LOTs of cals for dinner. Am up 0.6lbs and I ate 1/9th of a piece (think 1 bite or 2 small bites of tirimisu--so not worth it--tasted like crap). Back on IF today but ate late 10pm with protein shake cuz needed to get protein in. So it's gonna be a 16:8 kinda day. -
Yes! This ^^^! Exactly. Cannot explain it, but it's like, I do not want to sit at home doing nothing at night. *sigh*

#8 Fitness Plan Pretty simple. Walk 1 hour per day (all at once when possible). Core exercise/strength training 3 days per week. Done!

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
FluffyChix replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Yep. Baby step your way to increasing your cals. If it was me, I'd start by hitting your ideal protein for the day...then next start adding in extra nutrition (fruit/veg combined with just a little fat (nuts/seeds/nut butters/avocado/buttah ) and if still losing, then add in more carby stuff and very calorically dense food like casseroles, etc. -

Oh and maybe you back off of IF except once every couple of weeks? Or something? -

@sillykitty ((hugs)) Hugs my friend. I wish I had some answers for you but know that you can come here and share your fears and any insecurities or whatevs! I think we will all be here for you and will also be able to empathize, not just sympathize. Our fat heads are IMHO the toughest part of the whole process! Do you think you could start slowly? Like just add in 200 extra cals? (Still too low, you will keep losing, but maybe doing it slowly might work?) You could add those easily by adding a snack: 2 tbsp of nutbutter or 1oz of nuts or an ounce of cheese spread with a tbsp of peanut butter, or a quarter of an apple with nuts/cheese. Add guacamole/avocado to everything! Add in fruit/seeds/nuts, etc. Those things add up quickly and are nutritious while being calorically dense... You know, take baby steps. You might lose too much, but you know you WILL be able to gain down the road...You will. Just sayin. -
Does the hunger ever go away?
FluffyChix replied to veroa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hacking hunger for your individual body is so hard. So many variables depending on the degree of broken-ness, mental/emotional health, medications, food preferences, and a lifetime of behavioral/social cues! And that's just to name a few! You are doing what we all tell each other not to do post op. You are "chasing the full feeling" and quite frankly, that type of behavior is one of the things that could land you right back at the Obesity Ball down the road. The full feeling as many have said has changed for us forevs. And plus, right now, your nerves have been short circuited due to surgery and aren't accessing the brain anymore. In time, they do reconnect! I'm reminded each time I see my doc and RD that I should ONLY be eating serving-size appropriate for my time frame. And there should ideally be "no moving on" from my 1cup total per meal whether I am 10months out or 10 years out. That will keep my new anatomy functioning the best. And it's up to us to figure out how to use our 1cup volume budget per meal! Some can get away with super dense, calorie laden, rich dishes and only eat a few bites. Others would eat that look around and would stab a bi*ch for more. *raises hand*. The best way for me is to use that 1cup real estate and fill it with 2-3oz of very dense/dry-ish protein + 1-2oz of al dente veg. The end. End of meal. Others are different. Head hunger is HUGE! At least for me. And sadly, I can eat the crap outta "bad" Fatty McFatterson comfort foods--just as if I had no surgery! I could eat a whole bag of Lay's, Cheese Its, Chips/Salsa/Queso, a can of Pringles. I'd feel bad from the extra fat and have to sleep it off...but guess what? It goes DOWN without restriction. And no amount of surgery is gonna alter your head hunger, binging ways. That takes heavy lifting and full work on behaviors and getting to the root of the problem. (I'm still such a work in progress, as are we all!) For the most part, in the early days (and even later), you eat to a schedule and you keep your set amount and you follow your rules and drink plenty of liquids/water, and it won't bother you that you are only "no longer hungry" rather than feeling full. Once you progress your plan, you will hopefully feel some sense of completion and satisfaction! -

Very interesting comment! Dunno. I do know that people with long term insulin resistance and diabetes can develop neuropathy as a result that causes gastroparesis... https://biologydictionary.net/pyloric-sphincter/ Dr. Google fast at work. -
Lotta food/lotta cals for 8 weeks, but that's just my opinion. And don't know what most dudes eat volume-wise at 8 weeks either...or what your nutritional reqs are. Sorry not much help.
