Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
FluffyChix replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Damn! No IF for me today. Had a terrible episode of RH last night. Second one that I've had now. Both times I woke from a dead sleep with profuse sweating, shaking, near-incoherence, heart racing, adrenalin rushing, off balance...stumbled to the kitchen and poured down some Fairlife Milk cuz it was the only thing liquid I could get to--juice cans are outside and didn't think to get one. Then cut an ounce of cheese and forced it down. But so nauseated... I made caprese chicken last night and used some pre-made balsamic reduction glaze. Figured since it was such a small serving it couldn't make much difference. I think it made a difference. Ugh. So scary. I was so mean to Mr. F. too. I couldn't get him to wake up to help me! I was panicking and needed the bg monitor and ketometer. Lort. This was the meal. It was 4.5oz by weight and about 1 1/4cups of food total, but I only ate 2 green beans, so about a cup of food. (That's 2oz of sauteed chicken, 1oz ps mozza/asiago, 16g campari tomato, fresh basil, 1/2tsp balsamic reduction) + 1oz of green beans -
#18 Top tip: Follow your doctor's/RD plan for portions at all of your stages. Don't overeat! Don't eat more advanced from where you are presently.

Ok, here's the rest of the day: Lunch and Dinner: Lunch was 1cup Turkey Chopped Salad Dinner: Caprese Chicken and Green Beans (I only ate a couple of the green beans but finished the chicken. Then sadly, the balsamic glaze I used caused me to wake up with RH and a bg of 46 or less. Had to do emergency reaction to get bg back up. Felt terrible: hot, massive sweats, heart beating fast, foggy/near-incoherence, shaking like a leaf. Ermergerd! Yuck!

Hi Alex! Great question! I'm gonna attach the pic below from the Feosol website. So I'm having issues with low iron saturation and thought maybe I wasn't absorbing my iron supplement. Also my old one was chewable (and tasty! TY Celebrate Citrus chewable iron!) but it was ferrous fumarate which may not be well-absorbed. I've read the heme iron is the preferable iron source for bariatric patients cuz it's better absorbed than plant based iron sources? I think heme is animal based if I remember correctly. This one is supposed to be gentle on your system and not cause the nausea and constipation that other iron can cause. So I started using it. It is too soon to tell if it's helping with my iron status, but will hope to know more next month! See what you think, ok? I know a lot of bypass patients use this kind cuz of the heme iron! Thanks for all you do Alex! (Sorry about showing the ordering button. Not trying to pull people off the store!)

Can't wait to try them! Thanks! Hey Alex, would you consider also starting to carry Feosol Bifera Iron 28mg?
-
Yay girlie! You look so beautiful and happy!!!! Congrats on goal!!! 🎉🍾
-
Yep take your PPI acid meds, drink lots. Sometimes we just have hungry periods! Also make sure you're getting all your lean protein in and keep your carbs low mostly from veggies!!! No beans or rice!
-
Congrats!!!! You look FABulous!!!!
-
Sure why not. If you don't have a prob with carbs like I do. I love the Zeroodles that @Alex Brecher carries in the Bariatric Pal Store. So damn good! Seriously. This one is the bomb.com! Love both the angel hair and spaghetti!

Will this change or is this how it will be?

Trust the process, your doctor/team, and your surgery. I know that comes with practice and time. I'm just encouraging you to take deep breaths, walk, drink water (lots), walk some more, breathe some more, eat on your plan, sleep, have fun, love much and in a month or so you will be in onederland! You got this. -
Because this weight loss and maintenance game is about changing habits of a lifetime that got us to the Obesity Ball in the first place. It would be so easy if we never could eat these old foods we used to adore so much, without repercussions like getting sick or something. But reality is you will be able to eat WAY more of that stuff than is good for you, and most likely you will still have a preference for it over healthy/clean foods...and you will have to fight not to eat it with more and more frequency and abandon.
-
Sadly, yes. You will. More's the pity.

Wait. Are you SERIOUSLY daring to question the weight loss surgery gods by being concerned with a 10lb loss in 3 weeks???? *inserting hysterical laughter* Listen...10lbs in 3 weeks...I hear choirs of angels singing in heavenly anthem. What do you hear? -
Ok, here's 1st Brekky, 2nd Brekky, and mid-morning matcha break! Will be back later today with more "riveting" food action! Protein Latte The food as it was served to me. Holy crap--alotta food! My portion after I gave 1/2 or more of it away and traded for some avocado! My portion after I ate my 3/4-1cup of food Mid-morning matcha break (cheers @GreenTealael)--hey, why does your's look so much greener/prettier? Mine is a greenish brown powder (organic from Vitacost).
