5 months and I hit goal!

Congrats! That's phenomenal! WTG you! Walk around inside your house of look up Walk Away the Pounds with Leslie Sansone - so much fun! She's on YouTube. Or look up doing pilates on YouTube and go buy bands at Walmart.
  3. You just gotta ride the wave now. Pre-op Mag Citrate liquid was my go-to. But post surg, even 1 or 2 oz goes through like Sherman through Georgia. So fast. So painful. Fetal position rocking and moaning terrible. Once it's in you, nothing is gonna stop it until you get all the crap out of you--literally. Sorry. Hope it eases quickly. Make sure to get your fluids in. Keep trying to take sips of water. Now the key is to keep everything open and not allow yourself to go 14 days. That's just wrong. At 3 days no BM, I'm formulating a plan for day 4. But my recipe so far is: 17g Miralax 3 Colace 11g whole psyllium dissolved in 2 glasses of iced tea 1/2c yogurt 1 GG brancrisp cracker with 1tbsp almond butter before bedtime lots of leafy greens and broccoli and cruciferous veg 100oz water DAILY. Every. Damn. Day. I'm finally having lovely fluffy movements every day that I follow those rules. It was Rosemary's Baby bad before that.

That looks so good!!!!! Think I may try that next week. Don’t think my teenage boys will go for it but def for me and my husband Almond flour works as a great sub for the sesame flour. Or any kind of defatted nut flour--even pecan flour! Hope you like it.

    5 years almost

Have you considered IF? Come join us here. It really does provide a metabolic reset! (serry to post here...I'm not a vet.)
  9. You know there is a difference between "ideal" and goal weight right? Just to nerd out on you, "ideal" weight is a very specific metric based on pretty archaic insurance charts. And for women (don't know for men), you use this formula to calculate it: 100lbs for the first 5 feet. 5lbs for every inch over 5 feet. So for me, a 5'4" woman of average build, I have a theoretical "ideal" weight of ABOUT 120lbs give or take. I asked my cardiologist if 120lbs was a reasonable goal. He said, he doubted very seriously if I could get there and that he didn't really think it is do-able for most people, not just me. But the wls peeps use ideal weight to calculate your theoretical expected weight loss for your type of surgery and they also compute a theoretical "goal range" for most of us--whether or not they are willing to disclose that information, they still calculate and track it for each of us. My theoretical goal based on my ideal weight and based on my surgery was 156lbs. My 1st goal for myself was 150lbs. Now I'm going for goal #2 140lbs which puts me slightly under the mark on a weight chart where I'm in "normal weight range". My goal #3 is to get to 130lbs. My doctors think I should be able to do that if I really apply myself. So even at 130lbs as a goal, and even though I'm a "normal weight" for a woman my size, and even though I will have met and exceeded the expected/targeted % of expected weight loss...I will still be 10lbs heavier than my "ideal weight." This morning I am 32% fat (different than BMI) by Tanita and that fluctuates wildly with hydration. I go from 26% fat in the afternoons to 32% fat in the mornings. So by that metric, I have about 47lbs of fat sitting on my frame. Of that 47lbs of fat, I have what "they" figure is 13-14lbs of ESSENTIAL fat. That's the fat I must have on my body to continue to live. We all have something like that amount of essential fat. So accordingly, I have about 47-14=33lbs of excess fat left to lose. I think I can lose about 20lbs, but the rest of that seems impossible. And losing 20lbs still doesn't get me down to my ideal weight. Can I maintain it? I believe I can as long as I take each day as a new chance to live healthy and eat my best and exercise. I too am low carb/defacto keto, and get only "adequate protein". I also eat very low glycemic foods and try to get my daily 20g of fiber into the mix. Sorry for the book. (Oh I'm nearly 12months out and have lost 140lbs from my recent high weight.)

    ❤ FEBRUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤

#5 Feb 5.2019 Three words someone who loves me (friend) would use to describe me: talented strong fun #5 Things that make me smile (pic-not a person): one word...memes (yeah I'm that chix)...just a few laughs from mah peeps.
  11. Yep. I'm a great loser. I can lose like nobody's beeswax! But I needed the metabolic reset that my surgery gave me! I need this tool to help me stave off regain and to reset my body to really allow me to implement new behaviors with food in order to maintain this new weight for life.

    Help me! I’m miserable.

Try opening the capsule of the omeprazole. My GI doc said we sometimes have trouble digesting the capsule. I take it in a spoon of applesauce (unsweetened). I take 40mg though. It made a big diff. You really need the EGD cuz of so many things. They need to see if you have eosinophils in your esophagus or if you have an ulcer, inflammation, hernia, etc. If you have eosinophils there it could be something like eosinophilic asthma or eosinophilic GERD. Totes worth $500.00.

Six months post-op+ : The Sophomores Thread

^^^This! We want full disclosure, preferably with pics! hehe Congrats on being out of your funk. LOL. on reverse SAD. Is that a thing? For reals? So happy to hear about your shopping trip, your date, your Vaca date, and for being out of the funk!!! Wooohoooo!
  14. I used that diet on the 6 months leading up to my 2week liquid pre-op diet. My liver was pink, and normal. The RD told me that using that kind of diet as a tool is very good for getting rid of fatty liver. I tried to keep carbs below 30 total per day and tried to hit my protein goal without going over of 74g. For you it would probably be 80-90g. Too much protein will turn into glucose at about a 50% conversion ratio.
  15. LOL, not me, I wanna die a skinny b***h.
  16. You look ahhhh-MAY-zing!! Miss ya hon and hope you are well! (You know, btw, every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man, don't you? ) Congrats to your mom btw. That's fantastic!!
  17. I was approved for either one. I came out with the surgery I wanted (RNY). I followed the instructions to a T with minimal bad behavior. LOL. And no cheats in the 2week preop. She said it was an easy surgery. If you haven't had abdominal surgery before and really follow the rules, it should theoretically be fine.
  18. Yeah. But I like big poops and I cannot lie!
  19. FluffyChix

    NOT FULL & always hungry

Most of those are sliders. And in my experience, it takes a while to feel the restriction from your RNY. I kinda "think" the nerves have to wake up. That's why it is really important to follow your plan and only eat the quantities it tells you to eat. Also, eating as low carb as possible will help with the hunger. Hang in there!

    Sugar Free Tea Triggering cravings??

How about using a flavored tea bag without sweetener? I love the Celestial Seasoning Cinnamon Apple Spice combined with decaff unflavored green tea. 1 bag of each to a pot of brewed hot tea. Tastes great hot or cold.
  21. I just saw my PS and he won't do anything until: 1. I've lost ALL my weight. 2. Have been at my final goal weight for 3 months without changes. *and he's being kind about the 3 months, cuz he usually requires 6 months without changes.

  23. The magic equation: Miralax + 3 Colace + 11g whole psyllium husk + 1 GG brancrisp cracker/1tbsp almond butter at bedtime + plenty of greens and low glycemic veg per day + 100oz liquids = throne nirvana
