Really good article on mindset. These days my mind has shifted a bit from "Must! Lose! Weight" to "Must! Have a Plan! To NOT! Regain!!! It takes me a while to implement a plan so that it's working well--so I figured I better start now! What do y'all think? https://www.obesityhelp.com/articles/avoid-weight-regain-after-bariatric-surgery-with-this-technique?fbclid=IwAR1MtG4qkXyN749BsC8teIIhF3F9xIRatPqzAiNlB0z8HYLH7conM-zLaQw

Liquid and soft food diet for veterans

I'm so sorry you're going through this. If it were me, I'd buy an instapot, instantly! And then I would cook every kind of meat I could in it, then I would puree it if it still wasn't soft enough. I'd kick the carbs to the curb. If you need mash, then do roasted cauli mash, cook veggies until they are tender using frozen rather than fresh. Eat canned green beans. Make soups, stews in the instapot. They can be fully high pro/low carb! You'll get the weight back off. Do a green smoothie with a bit of Greek yogurt in it, blended with frozen blueberries and spinach for breakfast. Do canned tuna or salmon mixed with low fat cottage cheese and Walden Farms Chipotle Mayo + Country Dijon and Vlasic Dill Relish for lunch! Just eat it with a fork! You can even blend it until smooth to reduce the chewing even more. Then have instapot meals in the evening. All very minimal/no chewing! But that stuff will still take more to fill you up. Cuz it acts more sliderish. Can you change off of the medicine that is causing your appetite to increase? -

I'm glad you are taking care of yourself. I'm sorry for your struggle. What are your symptoms? How much do you weigh? What do you eat--what's your routine. How/why do you think you have an eating disorder?

Surgery In 2.5 Weeks and I Haven't Told Husband Yet...
FluffyChix replied to Boldilocks's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I honestly used tylenol liquid (max dose) every 4-6 hours can't remember how soon you can take it each time, and used tramadol and neuronton at night. But I frankly didn't need it. They started me on that combination the evening of surgery. I only have big pain meds the first morning and afternoon. It's better/easier recovery the fewer narcotics you have in your system. Glad the narcissist pretended to be human and go with the plan with so many eyes watching him hubs was supportive! -

16 years after roux-en-y
FluffyChix replied to Jo Lord. 16 yrs post-op's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Congrats on 16 successful years!!! I'm sorry you are having this. You should call your doc or go see your PCP and get a referral to a new doc. It could be so much! It kinda sounds like it's some kind of hernia but I don't play a doc on the internet. You def need to get some studies done. Things like EGD, barium swallow, and the super-awful-bad esophageal manometry/motility test are 3 of the ones that will most likely be used to dx. But if you can't keep stuff down, you gotta get it looked at. Hang in there! -
Food Before and After Photos

Hello Re-SIS-tance! You live! B/As from my healthy pizza lunch: Chicken Veggie Arugula Pizza #baristyle! This is such an easy dish to make, satisfies cravings, and is all made from leftovers! They didn't eat like leftovers. Before Single Piece-crunchtastic! After Macros for the whole dern thing. Macros per quarter/or per slice. Macros in case you wanna make the homemade tomato caper sauce. Make it once and eat it many times on everything from pizza, to veggies, to any kind of fish/seafood or meat. Great on manchego cheese too! It makes about 1/4-1/3 cup of sauce. You only need a tbsp or so! -

Can we eat certain foods post op
FluffyChix replied to thelostmermaid's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sure. There will be little you CAN'T eat. The question is always gonna be "SHOULD" you eat it? I do a lower fat version of low carb. After my bypass surgery, I have a hard time with very fatty meals/foods. Steak does just fine with me. Love it. I can handle about 2oz of sausage if it isn't greasy and about 1oz of salami, but have to be careful with the cheese cuz it not only stops me up, but makes me hurl. -
How many carbs can you safely eat without dumping?
FluffyChix replied to CyclicalLoser's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
The 64000$$ question! The answer is I have no idea. I've had 2 episodes of late dumping (about 2hours after the previous meal). I didn't think either meal was particularly heavy in carbs. So it was hidden sugar that was the culprit perhaps? In general I avoid any meal with more than 5g of sugar per serving. I try to keep below 20g of total carbs in a 4-6 hour window with the idea that at least 8g of those carbs would be taken up by fiber. I don't have the nuts required to try anything more than one spoonful of rice or pasta or potatoes. I have had a slice of bread/part of a roll, but I am so careful about portion and it is very infrequent. I also use meal combining with fat and protein and fiber to try to slow how quickly it hits my blood stream. In general I eat pretty clean: dense protein, low glycemic veg and a tiny bit of lg fruit, small amounts of healthy fats. -
Ok, re: bamboo tea. You have to be careful of using this tea if you have or have had estrogen/progesterone positive breast or other hormone positive cancer. You also need to be careful of it if you are pregnant or are trying to get preggers. Bamboo tea is frequently adulterated by carnation plants (dianthus) which looks like young bamboo shoots. And those have an estrogen effect and a utero taxing effect. Sad, cuz I would have tried it. But I stay away from phytoestrogens when known.

Can you throw some links up please? TY!

I use eye shadow for your scalp. I use Toppik. I use this sticky powder to volumize, hair products that thicken. And hair spray. LOL. And I take my vitamins and get my protein and pray. For tiny baby hairs.
