  1. Sounds like you're on the right track. Don't worry about "too few cals", just worry about keeping carbs lower and getting your protein and fluids (especially your fluids) and vites down your gob!
  2. Ok, it may not help. IDK. But I had so much foot/ankle swelling from heart problems and being morbidly obese. I also had huge left arm lymphedema leftover from cancer treatment. And I've lost 140lbs. I'm no longer on any of my bp meds, the fluid around my heart is getting smaller, no more swollen feet or ankles, and my lymphedema is maybe maybe a little better on some days? This is a wise thing you are doing!!!! And we will be twins, 1 year apart! Mine was Feb 20, 2018. I can just say, what a difference a year makes!
  3. Wow, at 2 weeks. Congrats! I was only just starting softs at 2 weeks if I remember. Don't overadd cheese. Your bowels may be whacked for a while. And cheese will really stop you up. You need to be sure you are "going" well right now. I'd add stuff like canned chicken, tuna and salmon pouches, sardines, hb eggs or sb eggs, soft scrambled eggs, poached fish, mashed cauliflower, soft green beans, broccoli cooked to beyond hell, keep the yogurt. Add some avocado. Add a little good healthy fats. Add a couple of olives. I was between 500-800cals through most of my loss. I still have to be down around 700cals to lose on average.

    DS V RNY HELLLLPPPP

Dude. Are you having surgery tomorrow? LOL. Relax. Chill. Quit typing in all caps and yellin' for help. LOL. There aren't a whole lot of DS peeps on this board. There are a few...but flooding the boards won't get 'em to you any quicker. You're better served using the Search Function on the site.
  5. Why are you limiting yourself to 1 PP drink per day? You should aim for 2 or 3? I'd do that over Fairlife, but that's just me. At 2weeks I was between 3-500cals/day. But if you MUST have Fairlife (which doesn't have as much protein and has more carbs), then I would use SF Hershey's Chocolate Syrup in it rather than do the Chocolate Fairlife cuz of the amount of carbs/sugar in it.

Woohoooo! Congrats to you!!! That's amazing!!! I'd say at 186 and 5'10" you look fabulous!!!! Go get your gym on!!
  7. Ok, well don't just tease us! Tell us what everything is? Is that hummus, babaganoush, falafel, and omelet? Are those french fries? What an incredible breakfast! Do they eat like that every morning or would that be a feast morning? Beautiful!
  8. They all add an aftertaste in my opinion. But I used Isopure Unflavored. If you add small amounts to everything, then it adds up quickly (the protein) without affecting taste too terribly. You have to mix it into liquids slowly while still room temp--then warm it up. If you try to put it in hot soup it clumps. So I just used that method of warm after mixing.
  9. Ave. weight loss post surgery is 2-4lbs. Congrats for being at the top of average. When was the last time you lost 8lbs in 2 weeks?
  10. Cool! It's important to know, that I made sure to "clean myself out" before socking the psyllium and fiber crackers to it. Cuz otherwise I risked a blockage. And I also was trying to get as many probiotics in as quickly as possible!
  11. Here's another interview with Dr. Perlmutter and Dr. Walter Longo on his book/research on The Longevity Diet which is a fasting mimicking diet. His main bias for me is that he doesn't believe in the use of ketogenic diets and is very much against meat. But it was a very interesting interview. https://www.drperlmutter.com/the-empowering-neurologist-david-perlmutter-md-and-dr-valter-longo/
  12. Brain Food and Water - Preventing Dimentia. Something we should all be concerned about!!! Inflammation = Type3 Diabetes = Disease. https://www.drperlmutter.com/the-empowering-neurologist-david-perlmutter-md-and-lisa-mosconi-phd/?inf_contact_key=582d77fb5f9936c470716de025855c43842e902fbefb79ab9abae13bfcb46658
  13. LOL, my old normal post surg = Rosemary's Baby bad deliveries once every 4-5 days. Holy crap! So bad. Since adding lots and lots of psyllium fiber + daily "meds" + lots of veg + water, I get big fluffy, painless, 1lb poops daily. It's my "NEW NORMAL" and I owe it all to my daily plan. I never deviate from it: Miralax 17g in black decaff coffee 2 Colace stool softeners 11g Now Brand whole psyllium husks divided into 2 cups of room temp Cinnamon Apple Spice Tea (decaff) 1/2c Greek yogurt with live cultures 1 GG Brancrisp Fiber Cracker + 1 tbsp almond butter each night before bed 100+oz plain water, plain decaff coffee, plain decaff green tea, plain matcha It is totes worth doing this! The psyllium husks and fiber cracker fluff up the poop and the Greek yogurt with cultures along with the psyllium is helping to repair my gut biome. The water is super duper important otherwise you make concrete.

I'm parking this here. Saw it on the Facebook and thought, hey don't we all need a reminder about coping techniques at times--the ones that don't involve eating to stuff our feelings back down?

    Post Surgery hunger

So chances are you are going through the withdrawal from sugar and carbs at the same time you're recovering from surgery. That INCREASES your hunger cuz your blood sugar and insulin are battling. Drink the LOWEST carb protein shakes that you can. Drink plain water, not sweetened waters. Eat sf jello. Ditch the pudding. Suck on sf popsicles. Try using unflavored protein in broths so it's savory rather than sweet. Check out some protein soup broths from Alex @bariatricpal store.

    WOW

Good for you! I couldn't cross mine until I weighed about 160lbs.

    I just wanna eat

You're gonna need to get a referral to a therapist who specializes in bariatric food issues. If it were me, I'd dial back the amount of exercise. Walk daily, do some HIIT stuff. Drop ALL bad carbs to the curb for now. Only eat dense, dry protein to whatever quantity your doctor specifies. Get all your water in (no sweet waters). Drink decaff coffee and decaff green tea and matcha. Keep fully hydrated. Drink as much water as you can about 15minutes prior to eating. Then eat slowly as you can for 20 minutes. Then don't drink for 1-2 hours afterward. The only thing I would eat right now until my hunger comes into control is: 1. Lean dense (very) protein=dry grilled chicken breasts, pork chops (lean), turkey burgers, lean ground beef burgers. Lean steak, salmon, hard boiled eggs, hard scrambled eggs, hard fried eggs (no runny yolks, they make the egg a slider protein at that point). (Only grill it or pan sear it or air fry it. NO MEAT LUBES, SAUCES, GRAVIES, or CASSEROLES!!!!) 2. 1 oz of al dente veggies: broccoli, cauliflower, wilted greens and garlic, wilted cabbage, brussels sprouts, broccoli rabe 3. 1/2oz avocado or up to 1 tsp of healthy oil per meal: olive, avocado, grassfed butter, lard, tallow. Use spices but no artificial sweeteners. Nothing sweet! No fruit, no mashed anything, no potatoes, rice, grains, beans, nothing til your hunger is assuaged. Meet your protein needs if you can from solid lean dense protein: 60-80g/day. That's what I do. Of course I can't tell you to do it. I'm not an RD or a doc!!! It takes about 4 solid days of behaving and doing this for your hunger to come into control...then I'd see what I needed to do after that. I would probably just continue on like that...cuz um, lol, that's what I already do!

    Where to get help

Also look at OA. We do have a local support group here that is huge and they bring in speakers. Frequently they are speakers about mental/emotional help and dealing with food relationships. Maybe you can try that as well? My doc and RD use a woman in connection with the practice.

    Chocolate Covered Strawberries

why not a healthy sub? I say "healthy" cuz um, depends who you're asking! Why not get some of the low carb strawberry Greek yogurt (on your plan) and add a squeeze of Sugar Free Hershey's Chocolate Syrup to it? I would get my HEB Plain Greek Yogurt and Walden Farms Strawberry Pancake Syrup and the SF Hershey's and go to town with "dessert"! And say, better living through chemistry as I shoveled it down my piehole.
