Food Cravings Chart - Do You Have Cravings? Here's the Fix!
FluffyChix posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I saw this on The Facebook, so it must be true. Right? I think this is an interesting chart--and I might try to apply it when they hit me. Do you have food cravings/head hunger that you just refuse to feed? I sometimes do. They were worse at the beginning of my journey than they are now. Now, they are mostly little whiny bi*ches that kinda wimper and go away when I ignore them--or feed them with a hard boiled egg or raw veggies without a dip--or a salad with plain evoo and unfiltered acv. But in the early days oh boy, were they doozies! And because I'm very hyperinsulinemic (long history of it), then if I eat a bunch of high glycemic carbs, I get hungrier quicker and my cravings for specific foods start cropping up with irritating regularity. Experience taught me that each time I feed a craving with the actual food I'm craving, that only reinforces the specific craving as well as the time of day the craving occurs. I do IF and that has taught me that hunger signals and cravings do not continue to build if you do not feed them. They have a cycle and die a quiet death in 20 minutes or less. Often now mine last no more than 5 minutes of so. Also, I always drink a pint of water before I feed anything and wait 20 minutes. If I'm still hungry, then I give my approved snacks (see above). How do you take care of your cravings without caving to them? Does this chart have any merit or veracity? -

Let me know ya'lls experiences!!! -
Ok, so it's official. You have issues you need to work on. They live INSIDE your head, not in reality. You likely have body dysmorphia. You are a handsome guy! Seriously. I've never seen you before. And if I was young and single, I'd date ya at least once based solely on your looks. Now go. Run. Do. Work on your self-esteem and getting rid of that horribly unattractive chip on your shoulder! Thanks for sharing.

Food Before and After Photos

Oh wow. I'm gonna start keeping a record of "super filling meals" for my Hungry Hungry Heifer days. This was breakfast this morning and these were the afters. I sauteed mushrooms and onions with power greens and garlic and had a leftover 1/2 piece of bacon with an egg fried over medium-runny yolk, hard whites. Hold me. So. So. So. Good! (objects in the mirror are larger than they may appear...this is a dessert plate and a dinner fork) -
Demanding pictures of you!

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability

I would potentially "think" so? But have no proof of that. Some say being in keto makes things go faster also, but again--no proof. I do know my ketometer (breath) shows when I'm getting benefits cuz it finally starts going up--while blood glucose is going down. When I'm eating poorly, or eating big meals, then it goes pretty low (.10-.15). Mine never gets over 1 though. And that's fine by me! -
To each their own and viva la difference! I just believe I'm not the poster child for WLS awareness and feel that this is my story to tell to whom I choose. Most people do not possess the "need-to-know" security clearance for this. It has nothing to do with stigmas for me. It has to do with not wanting to be the subject of idle curiosity and commentary. Gossip about someone else.

Putting this here. Source: The Facebook (so it must be right, yes?)--in Dr. F's group. -
Well, sorry you got it rough, dude. But as an innocent bystander looking on, until you OWN your own reality and step out from it, you are not gonna see improvement. I also get strong overtones that you enjoy victimhood and see very definite misogynistic signals. But I'm not a therapist nor do I play one on the internet.
-
Be your own advocate and ask to see a male doc, change your meds until you find a mix that works. I think you have some misogynistic issues to work through. You need talk therapy, behavioral interventions AND medication. Also, exercise, sun, outdoors, pets, and comedies/laughter are all things in addition to eating a good diet that are in your direct control and are all potential as powerful as antidepressants.

Congrats! I do the same thing.

Ahhhh Move Over Starbuck's--SF Protein Peppermint Mocha Coffee
FluffyChix posted a topic in Liquids (stage 1)
I look forward to the holidays every year, just so I can drink my SF peppermint mocha coffees! Now lemme warn ya upfront...if you're a purist, then leave this thread--I mean it! Runaway! Runaway! This is choc full of craptastic chemicals that brings new meaning to "better living through chemistry." Hahaha! But they make me sooo very happy and my tummy warm and toasty! Decaff SF Peppermint Mocha Protein Coffee 1 serving 8-10floz brewed decaff (your fave--my surgeon lets me have decaff from Day 1 after surgery) 4floz Premier Protein Drink RTD (either mocha or vanilla) 1floz SF Peppermint DaVinci Syrup 16g SF Hershey's Chocolate Syrup 3g Benefiber or 5g whole psyllium husks (optional) Mix it all together and enjoy. Great warm or cold! Nutritionals: 81cals; 11g protein; 1g fat; 6g carbs; 4g fiber; 2g net carbs (if you don't want to use fiber, subtract out 18 cals, 4g of the carbs and 4g of the fiber) -

With benefiber or inulin in the hot coffee, you don't notice it at all. I use psyllium husks when I make it into a smoothie and no, I don't notice it then. I'm up to using about 10g in a smoothie now. -
Sickness and stalling
FluffyChix replied to ummyasmin's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Feel better soon! Yes, insulin goes higher as do blood sugars when you are ill. And any cold meds you're taking for it also contribute. Drink lots of fluids: warm/hot water with lemon slices, green tea, black tea, black decaff coffee, bone broth and eat sparingly but drink a crapton! You'll be ok. Keep to a very low glycemic load diet! -

spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend/family heavy??
FluffyChix replied to ProudGrammy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, growing together is hard--much harder even after WLS! Right? So I do feel blessed to have such a supportive partner. And IDK about me inspiring him. He's super strong and independent. I do know he inspires me and supports my efforts toward health--every day.
