    What's Your Caloric Sweet Spot?

    Here's another one:

    What's Your Caloric Sweet Spot?

Yep, concentrated on lean protein, no added fat beyond an ounce of avocado per day and a spray or two of evoo spray. Mostly just 60-70g lean protein plus a couple bites of steamed veg. Kept it plain. Average for losing was <30g carbs (the lower the better), 60-70g protein and between 650-800 cals per day. I still didn't lose quickly. But I've made it to goal 2 at 13 months and will continue on to Goal 3. I still have to be closer to 650-700 to lose more.

I would be gaining weight your diet and I am 13 months out. To lose I really have to keep it between about 650-800cals, <30g carbs, 60-70g protein and around 30g fat.

I have to do this to lose only 1 lb in a couple of weeks. Plus I also IF. How many calories are you eating and what are your macros? Give us a day or two of meals to review.

No. I'm just a dumb a*s. LOL. I couldn't figure out the name of the candy! So they're like gummies but sour cherry. Right? Cuz if so...hold me. Even knowing how evil gummy bears (sugar free) are, I would sit and eat a pound of them--especially if they are directly out of the deep freeze. OMG.

Agree. I don't think I want to quit being aware of my WLS. It does partially define me. I have a different set of rules from a normie. I may be "normal size" now, but I will not every live in a normie's body. Right? I have a beeeeeellllion hungry little fat cells, ravenous AF, just waiting for me to say, "WTF, let's eat pizza tonight." Right? And yet that STILL doesn't make me perfect and 100% able to resist. So I eat it and guess what? Next day I might be up 5lbs! LOL. Friday I made a green smoothie to break my fast and then just had Matcha Yogurt. No overeating. No badgirl stuff. The next day I was up 4lbs. LOL. So I will always have to be aware of my own personal sh*tty sh*tty bang bang journey. And yes, yes, YES! On taking in our nutrition and not just coasting!! So importante.

Absolutely! He does look slightly "out there." But man. It's like, he's about the only one out there talking about the truth. The surgery isn't magic. It will only get us so far. And we can't wait until it quits working to start doing the work that got us the life time invitation to the Obesity Ball. We MUST be proactive and get to doing the hard work asap. Pre-op if at all humanly possible. It is always that angle from which I view WLS. I want to stay obsessed with my journey of transformation. I want to never be cocky enough to where I can't own my own crap. I love that he calls that forward and calls us on our ****. Cuz in my honest opinion, most of us have WAY too many enablers in our life., In fact, we're our own worst enabler. Self-enablers...

I honestly agree with him! I just don't feel very comfortable with his state of mind? Or that he appears to have washed out of the medical / surgical world? You know? But his stuff about head work is straight up truth.

Just a sobering message right? I swear I've been working toward this since day 1. It's not magic bean surgery. And so many are going to unfortunately have a crazy aha moment. (But hey, does he look like he's on something? He looks either slightly gassed or high?)

@kcirym2vp@yahoo.com Congrats to you! You look fabulous!!!
  19. Yep yep! I understand! Good for you for knowing your body!
  20. WTG girlie! Do you gain an average amount each month? I remember I could gain 3-8lbs in a month with it! Then I would lose it afterward Plays with your head for sure!! Way to contain it! What's your secret? What did you do differently?
  21. OK, this is heavy heavy stuff about doing the headwork. This guy, Dr. Cywes, is a bariatric surgeon and he has a pretty unique approach to nutrition and reward systems. http://lowcarbmd.com/episode-10-dr-cywes-lays-it-down?fbclid=IwAR1Zt1Nogz-Wy5enkHdwqnvNpRYvfZEMbDoxIaW2LGgKbW8c2VWt4Jqawzs I swear a big piece of the puzzle fell into place for me today. It's well worth the investment of time!
  22. Yep this! ^^^ You have to have a game plan for eating. Your nutritionist and bariatric team are the ones to help you figure this out. First. Get to goal. Don't get pg yet!!!! Lose the 150lbs first, then worry about having a baby second. I know lots who gained very little or only about 5-10lbs with pg.

    No weight loss

Ok, so detail EXACTLY what you are doing. Let's figure it out. Take this assessment. 1. How much are you eating or drinking every day that has any calories in it? Calories, Macros 2. Do you weight, measure, and log EVERY bite that goes in your mouth? 3. How many times per day are you eating? 4. What times of day are you eatin? Are you eating at nite? 5. What quantities are you eating at each meal (ie weight on a scale + volume in a measuring cup) 6. Give us an idea of an average day of meals/foods you eat. 7. Are you exercising? 8. How much water are you drinking? 9. Are you drinking alcohol? Frankly, I felt I was a slow loser, too. But in the end I did better than national averages at 1 year. My weight loss picked up when I started getting most of my nutrition from real foods rather than protein drinks/yogurt/cottage cheese, etc. Dairy kicked my booty with losses. Also, I HAD to keep my calories/carb/fat SUPER lolo to lose weight. To lose comfortably, I had to be in the 600-800 calorie range and ideally around 650. Sad but true. There are many here like this. I'm basically in maintenance at 900cals. I'm a 5'4" very average, non-athletic, 56 year old woman. I walk 60+ minutes daily and do a tiny bit of strength training. AND I do IF. LOL. So it's a major kick in the teeth. 25 lbs in 3 months is very average/normal. In my opinion, many surgeons do not level with their patients and allow them to believe this is "easy" weight loss and that it will look like 20-25lbs in a month. But reality is it's average of 2-4lbs/week with most of it falling in the 2lb range. So guess what? That's 8lbs a month in a month that only has 4 weeks. Plus there are stalls that happen. Hope to hear back on this assessment and let's see if we can help?

*drool* This was an awesome choice and a super great idea!! I also bet making it at home, that spaghetti squash would be awesome, or maybe even zoodles? Shiritaki noodles also work great! Oh may have to make a pad thai-ish meal tonight!
