    I didn't realize when I lost weight that _____

((HUGS)) I refer you to the meme in the WLS funnies that say "You mean you can see me?" Your situation has got to be hard!!! How do you handle it?

    Where am I going wrong?

The honeymoon period is somewhere around 6-18 months. During that time, it's supposed to work out that the WLS does quite a bit of the heavy lifting (up to on average that % you see here and there). But honestly, if you look at the VETS, the weight loss (intentional) doesn't stop. It may slow down. But you CAN and people DO still lose. You know? You can lose what you choose. It may be forkin' hard. I know every pound I lose is tremendous effort. I honestly feel like I had about a 3 month honeymoon period and everything since then has been craft and planning. You got this. Put the shoulda woulda coulda's aside. And just focus on healing your body and doing the things you know you MUST do in order to succeed in creating a new life with new behaviors and relationships with food and nutrition/healthy living!!!

    Feeling good today...

    Wow!! Super congrats!!! Looking fabulous!
  5. Please make sure you are healed and your cardiac surgeon approves you doing this hon!!! It's so soon after surgery. My surgeons after recon would not let me even restrict for the first 2 months...let alone fast. But I know in 2 weeks you will be doing great with the way you are going on your LC/Keto!!! You will be smashing!!
  6. Noooo. Not yet. No jinx's! My Goal #3 is to be 130lbs. Only then can I try to scale Mt. Kilomanjaro for the Barbie Dream Girl Weight Win of 125lbs. That may take another 6 months at this pace. Bahahahaha!

    I didn't realize when I lost weight that _____

IKR?!!!! I didn't realize I would take SUCH joy on seeing a number on a scale. I NEVER once imagined I would ever see these numbers! I didn't realize I would ever become a fashion slave. I LOVE clothes. I ADORE shopping at Goodwill for SIZE 8s!! (Am I yelling? Cuz it feels like I am!) I never realized I would feel confident and "great" in my outfits!!!
  8. Was 137.0 (PP=pre-poopy). And now...unofficially down 1.2lbs. bahahahahaaha! (shhhhhhh fiber) Making an unofficial weigh in of 135.8lbs...will have to follow up to confirm tomorrow. But we have a business dinner tonight, so not holding my breath. But dang it feels good right now to believe it!

    Where am I going wrong?

Ugh hon! It's so frustrating trying to hack our own bodies. I'd try cutting out the chocolate drink for a week or two and replace it with tea (Earl Grey, or dandelion, or camomille at night) and see what happens? Or maybe only do the choco drink on the weekends? The other thing is that you just had surgery again and that can play hell with your weight loss. Also, if you are on any meds like beta blockers, that can impact your weight loss. I think your diet looks really good if maybe a tiny bit low cuz of healing? Hang in there. You are doing everything right!

    Where am I going wrong?

Hey sweetie. Can't see your protein? Cals look fine. Carbs might be too restrictive. Maybe add some avocado and a few more veg? Ditch the Cadbury's It only keeps your sweet tooth rev'd up. Also try to cut back on the liquid sweetener for the same reason. Try upping to 750cals per day, 25g whole carb, 60-80g protein and see what it gets you. Fill the rest of your cals up with fat. So for instance: 750 cals per day = 60g protein X 4cals/g = 240cals from protein OR 80g protein X 4cals/g from protein = 320cals 25g carbs X 4cals/5 = 100cals 240 + 100 OR 320 + 100 cals = 340cal OR 420cals 750-340=410cals from fat left for the day OR 750-420=330cals from fat left for the day 420 cals divided by 9cals/g = 47g of fat OR 330 cals divided by 9cals/g = 37g of fat So...in capsulation: For 750 cals for the day, and since you're healing, I'd probably look at doing 80g of protein and see how I do. 750 cals; 80g protein; 25g carbs; 37g fat; g fiber=try for as much fiber as you can in 25g of total carbs. OR you can do 750 cals; 60g protein; 25g carbs; 47g fat; g fiber=try for as much fiber as you can in 25g of total carbs. Hope this helps!!!
  14. Ok, I caved last night. In my defense, we are currently undergoing The Tribulation tax prep time *sigh* *bigger sigh* *biggest sigh*. And it's not that I ate crap, or ate a bunch of carbs...BUT, I did rip into meat and cheese (which stops the FMD diet cuz of the amino acids leucine and methionine which stop autophagy). And...there might have been a gin with grapefruit La Croix and a slice of lime. My 3 day observation of FMD is that although it's a lot of volume (or can be), it's a lot of meal prep (washing, cutting, cooking), and I end up thinking about food WAY more than if I water fast. So my plan is actually to go back to my water fasts and feasts and do that until my Resetters FB group start the May version of their 15 Day Metabolic Reset plan. It includes fasting for autophagy, FMD, and Ketobiotic fasting. Then you will see more FMD, but only 3 days of it. I think if you did Dr. Longo's Prolon kit, it would be much easier, cuz you just open a package and go--you're still not thinking of food very much. With Dr. Mindy Pelz's 15DMR, it's a simplified FMD. So still not thinking about food so much. In the end...it wasn't life that got in my way. It was my poor choices that influenced me. Still a work in progress. So. Far. From. Perfect.
  15. This. But def, ask your doc/RD for their rules and your insurance co's rules.
  16. Yes!!!! Sing it my sistah!!!! This surgery (both RNY and Sleeve) are largely what you make of them. But, the sleeve does carry a bigger risk of GERD and revision risks (IMHO). So if you have any reflux issues or asthma/upper respiratory issues, I'd sure choose RNY.

    Corticosteroid

They'd prefer you not to do it within a time frame before or after surgery, so call your surgeon's office and be sure to ask them when you can do it and not interfere with surgery schedule. Also, make sure to eat low carb for about a week before and at least a week or 2 after to minimize any weight gain from the steroid. It will help you not overeat. "They" say it won't cause weight gain/munchies but they are lying liars that lie. I've had many steroid shots and if I don't do that, I'm guaranteed a 4lb gain. At 3 years post op though, you should be fine...but still call to be sure with your program.
  18. Wow! Great advice and breakdown of the situation from everyone! ((hugs)) It's so weird seeing people for the first time as a normal size person. Huge congrats on your hard work hon!

  23. Ok, well great to know then! I'm just not very familiar with the male reqs. My goal is between 60-80g per day as a 5'4" female, totally average in everything. So I get my protein in cuz I eat 1cup of volume per meal. In that 1 cup of volume, I can get 2-3oz by weight of dense protein in (21-30g of protein by macro content) That will fill about 2/3-3/4 of the cup of volume and still leave me with room for about 1 1/2 to 2oz by weight of a dense al dente veggie. That fills up my 1cup of volume. So to reach my protein needs: 60-80g/day and an average of 7g/ounce by weight of protein = 8.5-11.5 ounces by weight of protein per day Breakfast: 3oz by weight Lunch: 2-3oz by weight Dinner: 3oz by weight And there ya have it.
  24. Is 60-100g normal range for a 6'4" dude though? That seems like 100g might be right, but dunno...
