  1. Is she still thin? Maybe she's reverting to old eating habits and subconsciously wants to make you into her? Throw it out or give it away. Have the talk. ((hugs))

    Too Much Protein?

    I believe so.
  3. This is awesome! You're a great friend!! Yeah the chart is only meant to serve people who fit the chart. LOL. That's why I said in my post I'm just exceptionally average. So I'm one of the ones that this chart works for! And whether or not we like it, every bariatric surgeon in America uses the Ideal Weight formula to calculate their expected goal for you in your chart they submit to insurance. The equation is very simple and precise. And it's then used to calculate your goal by multiplying the difference by the 60-75% loss of EBW expected for the different surgeries. The equation for Ideal Weight looks like this for women: 100lbs for the first 5 feet + 5lbs for every inch over 5 feet. (So for me at 5'4" my ideal weight is calculated to be 120lbs.) The equation for estimating EBW (excess body weight) for women: Surgery Day Weight - Ideal Weight = EBW (So for me at 222 on surgery day, my EBW was 102lbs.) I had RNY and they expected me to have a 65% weight loss of EBW: Surgery Day Weight - (EBW X 65%) = Surgeon's Target Goal for the charts (So for me it looked like this: 222 - (102 X 65%) = 156lbs Goal Weight from Surgeon and she rounded up to 160lbs. That's the goal officially in my chart. But she never once told me my goal weight. She asked me what MY goal weight was and tried to guide me when she felt I wasn't being realistic.

  9. It is hard, hon. But it honestly doesn't matter how much we "could" drink or what our docs allowed. The important thing is that you or your insurance company just paid this highly skilled surgeon to rearrange your guts so you could achieve success. And it's time you really have to relinquish YOUR desires, quit thinking, and follow HIS or HER plan. Cuz he's been there before with lots of patients and knows what works. And if you are havin probs, then call his office and talk to part of his team and ask to be advanced. See what they say?

    Fiber

Yikes! Sorry. The struggle is real for many of us. First off, I personally wouldn't add fiber to the mix until you've broken through the blockade and the trains are running on the #2 track on their appointed schedule. I'd personally start with MOM, follow directions and use it until you have a big ol' poop and nothin's left. Then you have to have a plan and know what your normal is, and if you are outside of normal, then you start following a new plan. I ended up until recently with a very involved daily plan that gave me a smooth move every dang day after dealing with occasional irregularity with regular frustration. LOL: 250mg Colace 400mg Magnesium Citrate Caplets (not the liquid!) 12g Now! Brand Whole Psyllium Husk dissolved in 12oz of brewed decaff Lipton Apple Cinnamon Tea with vanilla stevia drops (room temp or chilled, no ice) 17g Miralax (which a surgeon who found out I did this daily was horrified about, so maybe this isn't the best idea) Hope you find what works for you. By far, the colace and psyllium tea are the best things on earth.

I'm not sure where the "precise" point is on the waist. I also go for the smallest area. And it is right under my last ribs! I used to measure at my belly button, but it made me too depressed. hehe. And btw, I can see the major difference that one inch makes in your proportions. 🍾 Congrats girlie! I heart cheap! Thanks for sharing these!! Whoa! Amazing!!! Ok, so what's the best color then? Do I need black and nude? Or black and white? Or only nude?

    Wondering about stretching your pouch?

I also love adding 1tbsp of cocoa powder (Hershey's Extra Dark) with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon to hot decaff coffee in the evenings. Feels like you're sinning for no extra sugar or artificial sweetener. Great polyphenols, a hit of magnesium, fiber, and serious satisfaction for very very few cals. Add some canned whipped cream for about 10 cals and <1g of carb to feel even more decadent!

Adorable. Now please reassure me that no spanx or tube socks were harmed in the making of this at home casual photo? Cuz you still look very slim and svelte and no pooch to me. Ok, pix of the spanx style you have. I've tried so many time to buy them, but it's like "Advanced" work for me and my eyes end up crossed and I get stalled with indecision about which is the correct version! And the foobs are still fine, but I still use the padding that came with my sports bras from Big Lots. They are perfect little bra stuffers to make you look full and fab!

    Soft food diet ideas?

Moist cooking methods work best for soft foods and although chicken thighs are easier for a lot of people, still many experience issues with chicken. So think instapot and crockpot cooking and things made in a dutch oven like potroasts, slow cooked ground meat chilis, stewed chicken, smothered chicken (made bariatric style). I did a ton of foil and parchment fish (white fish and salmon and also shrimp, and crab can also work), soft scrambled eggs, soft boiled eggs, soft meats with "meat lube" = premade low cal, low sugar, low carb gravies to put over them. One of my favorites was doing Thanksgiving green bean casserole made bariatric style with canned chicken in it. So good. Also made a lot of tuna salad with hb mashed egg and low fat cottage cheese to replace the mayo. I'd add some dijon mustard and pickle juice or dill relish. This recipe works great for salmon and chicken salad versions too. I just kept it very simple, and ate the same things daily/repetitively so that I could just focus on keeping cals low and protein to meet my macro goal. And time passed quickly. Canned green beans, frozen broccoli, frozen cauliflower were my friends in the veg department. Also no sugar added Granny Smith applesauce.
