I need some help, please. I have done everything required before surgery. My doctor now wants me to lose 30 lbs before he will even submit paperwork to my insurance for approval. My insurance DOES NOT require weight loss or a doctor supervised plan, this all my surgeon. I am getting frustrated because I cannot lose weight. In the last 3 weeks I have lost about 10 lbs. Usually I can lost 10-15 then I regain, it doesn't matter what I eat, how much I exercise, etc. That is the whole reason I am even having surgery to begin with. I am pretty much on all liquids at this point, and I will occasionally have some baked chicken when I get too weak. I don't know what else to do short of going to Mexico. I really don't want to do that since my ins will pay 50% of the procedure. Does anyone have any suggestions? TIA! ETA: This is BEFORE I even start the pre-op diet. So I have to lose the 30 lbs, then I will get submitted to ins for approval and start the pre-op diet.

Thanks for sharing! I will of course have a Cardiology Consult but I have had surgery in the past with no issues so I am hoping for an all clear! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app -
Does anyone have WPW? I was diagnosed 3 years ago and was just wondering if anyone else has it and had the sleeve? I don't totally understand it but basically my heart has an extra pathway so it "fires" more than a normal heart. It isnt obesity related..apparently I was born with it. Hey yall, I'm new here..just starting the process. I am scheduled for the weight loss seminar for Sept 11th. I have USAble ins which is through BCBS. Does anyone else have any experience with this ins? The ins itself is great, it is thru a large medical group where I work. I will have to have my surgery/consults/etc thru St. Bernards in Jonesboro, AR as that is what is in network with my ins (since I work for their clinic). Just curious if anyone else has this ins or has had this done @ St. Bernards. Also, has anyone used Dr. Willie Harper in Jonesboro? I have heard he is great, just trying to get some "IRL" experiences. Thanks!

Just Starting This Journey

Hey, I am in the beginning, too. I am scheduled for the weight loss seminar in Sept. I have spoken with my insurance co and as long as I meet their "strict guidelines" they will pay for 50% once my deductible has been met up. I am so hoping they will say that meet their guidelines..if I know I don't know who on earth would lol I have been overweight my entire life. I'm 35 and married for almost 9 years but no children. My husband and I want to have children but at my current weight there is absolutely no way. I know at this point it's now or never..so (hopefully) it's now!! I can't wait for this process to begin. I have been debating on doing this for years..I'm not sure why I waited so long but here I am!
