  1. How much weight did you lose in the first 3 months post-surgery? I had the sleeve in December and have lost 41 lbs since surgery (60 total). My doctor thinks I should have lost more than that in 3 months. Just curious to see how others did.
  2. I feel a huge difference. More energy and ability to do so much more that I couldn’t before and able to keep up with my 3.5 yr old.
  3. Thank you all. HW 316 SW 296 CW 255 My first goal was under 300 and then my next is 250 and then under 200.

    Pre-op diet for everyone?

The pre-op diet is actually to shrink your liver to make it easier for the doctor to access your stomach during surgery. And usually once you are approved for surgery, they aren’t going to deny you during the pre-op diet. That’s the last two to one week before surgery.

    No Scope

I just had a GI test where I drank something and they took X-rays to see how well I swallowed it. No scope
  9. Me too. Thought I’d been hacked.

    Got Approved!

I’m so excited, my insurance approved in less than a day! My dream of being sleeved this year is coming true! I have a surgery date of December 20, a wonderful early Christmas present. I know for me it was important deductible wise to get surgery in this calendar year but I didn’t think it would happen.
  11. Just had mine done yesterday and she said I would get a copy of the report. They have to make it really long and involved for insurance.

    Sleep Apnea Testing

They need 6 hours at least. You will probably have to do it again.
  13. I flew a lot for work while 270+ and while not comfortable, it’s doable. As you get on the plane, ask a flight attendant for a seat belt extender. They will gladly give you one to save the embarrassment of having to ask as they are checking to make sure everyone is buckled later. If possible, sit on an aisle, gives you a bit more room to lean to that side so you aren’t squished next to your seat mate. I have also sometimes asked at the gate if the flight isn’t full, could I be put in an empty row or have an empty seat next to me.
  14. I'm a 32 single mom who has struggled with my weight since puberty. I have PCOS and am at my highest weight I've ever been. I've seen friends and even my mom have success with the sleeve and I decided that it was time. I'm tired of feeling held back and not able to enjoy doing things with my son that I want to. I want to do this while I'm still young and so is he. I've had my first two appointments and met with the surgeon. Doing tests and have started the 6 month clock for insurance. Anyone else just in the beginning?
