I've been overweight since I had my tonsils out as a young child. Now at 37 i'm ready to take my life back and live truly for the first time.
I was always the fat tall girl. Often referred to as sasquatch. I was ridiculed for the weight and the height. It lead to me using food as my comfort. I was diagnosed at 17 as bi-polar. I've struggled with that and have a regimen that is working well. I was also diagnosed with type two diabetes as a teen. I only took care of it on and off. It took my eyes being damaged with diabetic retinopathy to change that. I have had an A1c of 7.2 to 5.9 in the past 5 years.
Yet the weight didn't come off. I take five shots of insulin a day along with metformin. My goal in the least is to cut that number if not cutting it out totally.
I know now, for the first time in what seems like forever, that I am worthy of happiness. I am under no impression that the weight being gone will make it all better with a pretty bow on my life. I know that it is a step in the right direction. I am worth the effort it takes to feel and look better.
