I have a bunch of questions to ask my surgeon before surgery (scheduled for November 6) but I’m wondering if I’m forgetting to ask something important. Are there any surgery or recovery- specific questions you wish you had asked your surgeon? Or maybe somebody could direct me to a specific post for some suggestions? Thanks for any help!

Has anybody been sleeved at Lenox Hill? What was your experience? My surgery is Nov. 6 with Dr. Roslin.

I'm November 6 in NYC. It's really going to happen----nervous!

Thanks for the responses! Good to know I'm not alone. It really helps to see how others dealt with this issue.

Just found out I was approved and will be sleeved in November. Now I'm wondering: is this an insane thing to do? Before I was approved I was sure this surgery is the right step for me. I am really done with being miserably fat. I see this surgery as the first step toward a healthier me. But now I have these sneaking doubts (and a little fear). I'm still having the surgery but I wish I felt as sure as I did before approval. Did anyone else feel this way? When did you feel that this surgery was the right choice for you?

Yes. I am taking the diet seriously but don't want to disqualify myself in the process. Has this happened to anyone, I wonder? Can you risk disqualification if you don't lose?

My coordinator told me that a 40 BMI is important to maintain in order to have insurance cover the surgery. But I'm right at 40. Any weight loss during the 4-month nutritionist supervision will disqualify me, right? I'm not thrilled with having to deal with my assigned nutritionist for 4 months and not losing. I'm sure others have had this issue--any advice would be appreciated. I have Cigna.
