I go for my pre-op physical today, which is great because I only have to work half a day. Other than that, I feel miserable! I came down with a cold on Sunday. I've been taking muscinex. I really hope it stays as a stuffy nose and nothing else changes. I don't have a fever, so I'm pretty sure my dr will tell me I'm okay for surgery on Thursday. I would be so mad to get this far and then have to wait, again! Anyone else face this?

I hope your flight was a quick one. Good luck! Let's us know how you're doing.

Surgery Cancelled due to RX Diet pills!!
Jo Skinnie replied to LynneB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank goodness they rescheduled! I would much rather have to wait an extra week or two than face the possibility of cardiac arrest! I know it's frustrating when you are ready to go. Count your blessings and have a great surgery on the 18th! -
Great - 6 months of diet before band
Jo Skinnie replied to Hope4Joy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I had to do the 6-mo dr supervised diet too. The time went faster than I thought it would. I'm glad I had that time to do more research and develop some good relationships with a local group of banders. I feel very ready for my surgery on the 17th. Use this time to your advantage. Learn all you can and then ask more questions and learn some more! Good luck! -
Think about reaching your goal...now, what one word do you imagine will describe the new you?! My word is svelte: Slender or graceful in figure or outline; slim. I've always loved saying that word. Now I want to be it!

My chiropractor told me to live with him for 4 mos and he would make sure I lose all the weight. He's very athletic and I'm sure he would be a really hard personal trainer, however, I have a life. What would I tell my husband, kids and boss? Not to mention his wife and kids! LOL He has since been very supportive of my decision to be banded.

My dr prescribed Nystatin cream and Nystatin powder. Sometimes the cream works better and other times the powder is better - especially when I do a lot of sweaty workouts. Make sure your dr documents that you are having a re-occuring infection in this area for documentation for the ins to cover the plastic surgery.

One month and 12 pounds down - 5 months to go!
Jo Skinnie replied to 2boys3cats's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told they use your BMI from your original weight, before you started losing on the 6-mo diet. You are doing great! -
Looks like he's teaching a version of the short-cut my therapist taught me. He has it in a bit of different order too.

I have BCBS of MN and also had to do the 6 mos dr supervised weight loss. I used that time to do as much research and talk to as many people about the band and wls in general as I could. I feel very confident with my decision to get the band in a week and a half. The 6 mos went by very quickly. It was worth the wait. I feel I'm very well prepared for the surgery and my life with the band. Good luck to you! -
My therapist taught me EFT a few months ago. It really works. I use it almost daily on anything that is stressing me out - work, crabby husband, headache and head hunger. The pressure points are suppose to "reset" your mind so to speak. I do feel much calmer after I do the routine.
