I can still eat spicy. The first time I did I had a slight tummy ache. After that, no probs.

Check with your Doc ASAP. Not normal. Could be Gallbladder or other problems.
-
No nausea or gas pains. Just soreness.

I had them at 2 weeks. Get the no fat ones at Whole Foods. You can add just a little cheddar cheese and enchilada sauce and/or hot sauce. They are very satisfying while still on the puréed diet.

Sick after going back to work
Nancy MBGC replied to slemier's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I worked night shift for years. It’s probably just an adjustment. Nights are hard on your body. Also, if you work in the hospital it’s stressful. It’ll even out with time. -
What you wish you'd known before having weight loss surgery
Nancy MBGC replied to UndercoverDiet's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wish I had known that the pain from surgery was going to be quite minimal. I wish I had known that having puréed food makes it difficult to feel full because it slides right through. I wish I had known that the pounds don’t just slide off for everybody. I’m just now three weeks post op and have lost 20 lbs. Some of these posts claim a loss of 40 plus pounds!! I can hardly believe that it’s an average weight loss ( unless you weighed over 300 lbs.. I might believe that...) -
What I find is that you need to rid your house of such temptations. The other thing is, the longer you go without sugar, the more you don’t crave it.

Comment your favorite protein shake/powder/drink!!
Nancy MBGC replied to Road2Newme3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I absolutely cannot stand Premiere or any of the other ready made ones. Thank God that my BFF turned me onto IsAGenics (IsAlean Shake). It’s a powder whey protein meal replacement. I like the Dutch Chocolate flavor. Along with the purchase of an Isablender or any kind of good blender, ice, and water, you get what tastes like a milk shake. It has 24 grams protein and is a little higher in calories, but it really is a meal replacement and tastes delicious. I add a little sweetener to mine. You don’t have to though. You can order this and the blender on Amazon. It has no aftertaste or protein taste. It’s far superior to anything I’ve tried. -
Preop Gastric Sleeve
Nancy MBGC replied to Johnwife4sure's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Of course not! -
I am not at the solid food stage yet, but I'm thinking about a Keto style of eating, trying to make sure that I can get in my 60 grams of protein daily. Have any of you done or are doing this? I'd love your feedback!

My sleeve surgery was 10/17. I'm in the puréed stage. I pretty much live on yogurt and have just started having puréed refried beans. The serving size has 4 oz. I can eat two servings of these. I'm full afterwards, but not uncomfortably so. Is it because they're like slider foods, is that why I can handle 2 servings or 8 oz?

How often did/ do you vomit post-surgery?
Nancy MBGC replied to MN_Meg770's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm doing well. I'm not quite up and all over the place yet, but the only thing that's hard so far is the puréed diet. Pretty much live on yogurt. My sleeve seems fine. Thanks for asking! -
Having Second Thoughts about Bypass
Nancy MBGC replied to boliramirez's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Enter the word dumping on search engine on this sight. You'll see plenty of posts about it. Mostly happens with bypass rather than sleeve. -
I made most appts all in the same week or so. That way I could relax.

1 week post op
Nancy MBGC replied to sweetsleeveday's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
5 days clear liquid and 5 weeks full liquid. I do yogurt besides my crystal light. It's not easy, in fact it's very hard, but the stomach is new and healing. It's probably important for it to heal properly. I'd be afraid to try anything solid. The strained or blended to smooth soup is something I haven't tried just because it sounds gross to me. I also sleeved on 10/17! -

Full Fat Mayo, cottage cheese, and yogurt
Nancy MBGC posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm not a fan of the low fat versions. Did anyone eat the full fat version of these? It would seem that as little as we can eat, one should still lose weight. Anyone eating the 4% cottage cheese and 2% yogurt? -

Full Fat Mayo, cottage cheese, and yogurt
Nancy MBGC replied to Nancy MBGC's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I actually started this thread because I cannot stand the taste of low fat dairy ( except for some yogurts). My advice to you if you can handle the low fat versions of cheese, mayo, sour cream, and the like, is to go with them while you're trying to lose your weight. I, myself, just can't stand them. I am also on full liquids. Good heavens. Five more weeks of this?!?! Someone has GOT to be kidding me. A little low fat cheese is starting to look like Nirvana at this point.🤣 -
Just ate a lot - scared
Nancy MBGC replied to KaiserKid's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So you're saying that you only have a little while or a few years, whatever, to have this diet aid we all went through surgery to get? -
What is your Pre-OP Diet?
Nancy MBGC replied to hernandez776's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow that's pretty harsh. Your surgery will be cancelled. Also. It's your responsibility to get your meds in liquid form. My Surgeon helped me with that. Just think your surgeon or clinic could be a little friendlier in their approach. -
Water, Water Everywhere...

Sugar Free Popcycles help. So does watered down juice.
