  4. HI and thanks for yr reply... I am a woman.. I signed up with my hubby into a fitness studio with pool but have not yet had the time to really get into it due to my work schedule (14 hrs a day...). It may be that my water intake is not the highest.. I confess I hv a hard time drinking just water... I manage about a quart and a half a day.. Now it's starting to get hot here, so I will naturally increase this intake... Thks [emoji120] Sent from my D6603 using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. HI everyone. I've had a revision from Lapband (had it for 8 years with 110 pounds (50 kg) total loss. In 2016 the band slipped and needed to be removed. Because of the slipage it had to be opened and I gained 40 pounds. Last July 2017 I had the revision to a Mini Bypass. now 10 months later, I am still struggling with the stalls. I've lost the 40 pounds plus a bit and nothing more!! I must confess that I am happy that I am off all medicines (no more diabetes, high cholesterol or high blood pressure). I also lost measurements and of course clothes sizes. But I was told I could lose up to 70 pounds, so when and in how long do the other 30 pounds come down?? I walk alot in my work, around 5-7 miles a day.. Eat between 60-80 gr protein a day. Avoid carbohydrates to a minimum. Does it hv to do with the age (I am 62) or is it the combination of age and 2nd op? My surgeon is not truly responsive unfortunately so I get most of my support from my nutritionist and forums. Don't get me wrong, I am happy about the changes in my body and health, but would very much like to lose these last 30-35 pounds and reach my goal of 150-155 pounds. Would really appreciate any helpful comments preferably from those who had Lapband to bypass revision. Thanks and blessings to everyone. Sent from my D6603 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Very slow weight loss?

HI Monica. So after talking to several nutritionists specialized in bariatrics, and researching, I now made peace with the rate of my weight loss. Somebody here posted a table of weight ranges according to age and height. This also helped. I am 61 will be 62 in two months. Have had already major weightloss with my lap band years ago, so this is my second surgery. All nutritionists said these two details are a big factor that will affect my weight loss. I have now lost a total of 33 pounds in 3 months. My lab tests just came in and I am in the absolute normal range, which means no more cholesterol. No more diabetes. No more high blood pressure. This in itself is already my great victory! I now [emoji817] % fir sure that I will loose the rest 20-25 Kgs (40-45 pounds). If it takes a month longer that is also fine. My full bonus is already here, I am medicine free!! I feel great (except for the occasional gas which sometimes, drives me and my hubby crazy kkk) and hope everyone here has great success with their journey. We have all carried our weight too long with all the pain and I suffering that it involved. Now we are all getting a second lease. This in itself is a great thing. So let us all enjoy the ride. be kind and loving to ourselves and also patient with our bodies. They have endured a lot already. Lots if live to everyone. 8. HI everyone. I had a Lap band to a Mini Bypass revision on July 5th. So far. I have lost 23 pounds, but somehow I keep feeling that it should be a bit more. after some difficulty in the first two months with my eating. With a lot of food rejection, I now feel that I can eat quite well. I can eat a small size of fish, or one whole very well cooked and soft chicken thigh. I avoid carbohydrates to maybe one dry diet cracker in the morning with cottage and s bit at lunch (at the most have half a potato or a spoonful of carrots or zucchini with the protein) and concentrate on the protein. I walk a lot on my job (I am a tour guide) sometimes for two whole hours.. I try to drink enough ( I usually mix water with sugarless ice tea powder, as flavoured water goes down easier for me ) I completely avoid sweets, pasta, bread, and eat very little fruit. Also I am not experiencing any cravings really, and because I am eating protein 3 times a day I think that I am getting enough protein and still the weight loss seems to stall. Or am I being unrealistic?? Or maybe I am doing something wrong? Last week. I was at 24 pounds less, this week it came back to 23., I am starting to feel frustrated with this up and down effect!! I would really appreciate some feedback from those of you who went through this before, and how you managed to overcome this! For the record, as this might be an important detail, I am 61. Thanks a lot for taking the time to read and answer. All the best to everyone. Sent from my D6603 using BariatricPal mobile app Sent from my D6603 using BariatricPal mobile app

  11. HI,my nutritionist said the solaray chewable multivitamins. Are excellent. Instead of the recommended dosage of 2 a day, she said I should chew 4. She also recommended chewable calcium of 600 MG. Twice as we only absorb half or 1000 MG in 2 halves. Go to iherb.com they have really good prices! Sent from my D6603 using BariatricPal mobile app

  13. HI everyone. I had my Lapband to mini gastric bypass revision on July 5th. So far I am feeling fine with my weight loss of 23 pounds so far, considering it is a revision. And my age of 61 both me and my nutritionist and doc think it is pretty good. My problem is that I am throwing up a lot. Almost after every meal, specially if it has meat in it. I really try to chew slowly and a lot, stop after 3-4 spoons and choose my food very carefully, and still it happens. On rare occasions it stays in. I am worried! Also having great difficulty drinking all the liquids recommended... What does go down really well is natural coconut water, which I drink a lot of. As food. One egg goes down well, whole wheat crispies also ( I am allowed 2-3 a day of the real light crispies, usually have one at breakfast ) and I usually eat them with cottage or egg or my homemade tunfish spread. All of the above goes down well and also stay. However, chicken, hamburger meat, or chicken liver, ground meat, that goes down with difficulty and comes out in no time at all. I am worried!! Anyone with the same.e problem? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Sent from my D6603 using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. Hello everyone, so glad to have found this forum. Am 2 weeks post Op and in general, my recovery is excellent. However, am having problems drinking liquids!! I manage about 1 glass of water in 2-3 hours.. Really trying hard but it dies nit work too well. I am introducing natural coconut water, no sugar, and this goes a bit better. But still, 250 ml of it takes a whole day.. So far I lost 16 pounds, quite happy with it. My bowels work every two days, which I find quite OK. I am basically here to get some support for the long road ahead. Specially with the drinking, as I understand (and also according to my surgeon) that this is the most crucial part. Thanks a lot in advance and much success to us all!! Sent from my D6603 using BariatricPal mobile app
