Hi everyone! Here's my 6 week update! The beginning was rough but I have no regrets. I'm feeling better every day. I have a lot more to go but am getting there! Pre OP : 225 Current weight: 190

Hi everyone I have a really bad cold the kind where I feel like I'm coughing up a lung. I tried to take cough medicine Mucinex and vomited it all up instantly. Any one ever have problems with cough medicine or found one that stays down?

Congratulations! I know what you mean. My bra size went from a 44 to a 36! I don't think I've had a 36 since high school haha Sent from my Pixel 2 using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm only down 40 pounds. I hear you. I wanted more too. But it's really true that what really matters is how your feeling. I know I'm feeling better than I was before and that makes it worth it in my opinion. Sent from my Pixel 2 using BariatricPal mobile app

Hi. I have been experiencing this also. I'm not having complete emotional breakdowns, but I have been crying more frequently. I am planning on talking with the doctor at my next appointment. I don't think it would hurt to talk with the doctor about it. For me I think I'm just emotionally overwhelmed with so many changes going on. Perhaps it could be something like that. The place I had my surgery done at has a counselor on staff that I might be meeting with. See if that's something the doctor would recommend it may be helpful.

Try the skinny girl mixers and wines. They have less sugar and lower calorie. I went to a wedding two weeks post op and had a sip of wine during the toast. I will admit it hit me pretty hard but I really don't drink very often.

I agree. Definitely call the doctor with questions about cold symptoms. I also got an early period the morning of my surgery. It's probably due to stress. Try to relax and don't worry too much. Best wishes!

FIRST THANKSGIVING SINCE SURGERY....
DK replied to ThickGirl5683's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi all. I'm reading about all these struggles with sweets. Honestly there's a lot of stuff out there with sugar substitute that are actually pretty good. I made pumpkin pie without crust and used Splenda instead of sugar. It was so good and I couldn't tell the difference. There's so many things you can enjoy. If your craving ice cream there's a brand called enlightened. It's high protein and no sugar. It's ok to have a treat especially with the alternatives available. Just try to get the sugar free stuff. -
Hi all. I'm two weeks post op and am doing well overall. I am wondering if anyone ever experienced random dizzy spells after surgery. They seem to come on very suddenly and I have to immediately sit down drink some water and rest. It seems to happen every day. I'm also sleeping a lot and get tired very quickly. I'm thinking maybe it's dehydration or a blood sugar drop. I don't have diabetes. I'm hoping it is something that will improve over time. Sent from my Lenovo YT3-X90F using BariatricPal mobile app

I agree. With what every one is saying. That is great progress. Just think most diet programs say you can expect to lose 1-2 pounds per week.

I also had a very hard time with eggs. It makes me terribly nauseous and is painful after eating. I used to love scrambled eggs.

Hi. I also got my sleeve on the 25 th. Doing well overall. I am doing my best to get in my protein. Still having pain when standing up and sitting down and having dizzy spells. I know I'm a bit dehydrated and tend to forget to dink slow when I feel thirsty. I am having terrible heartburn. So I'm still learning to get into the habit of drinking slowly all day. I am down a total of 17 pounds. So far no regrets. Best wishes everyone! Sent from my Lenovo YT3-X90F using BariatricPal mobile app

Oh wow. I am so sorry. I really hope I don't lose my hair. I'm two weeks post op. I have extremely long hair. I'm already focusing on getting in my protein and vitamins because I'm very attached to my hair. My doctor said try to get a minimum of 60 grams of protein to avoid hair loss. Hair is made of protein so it makes sense. Sent from my Lenovo YT3-X90F using BariatricPal mobile app

Calling all October sleevers!!

10 days to surgery! Started pre op diet today! -
Hi all! I had a group meeting recently with the dietitian at my doctors office to discuss the liver reduction diet. The dietitian made the suggestion to add a teaspoon of sugar free pudding to the shake to add more flavor. I must say this is the answer to making these shakes decent. So far I got chocolate, vanilla, banana cream and lemon pudding for my shakes. Just thought I would share this for those who are struggling with protein shakes because they are generally not very good. I know when I first tried the shakes all the flavors tasted the same. Now I finally have the answer and feel way more prepared to start the liver reduction diet this Saturday! Sent from my Lenovo YT3-X90F using BariatricPal mobile app

Not yet. I'm hoping to get off mine. I really don't like it. My surgery date is October 25th. Finding out that I needed a CPAP machine is one of my major motivations to get the surgery. Sent from my Lenovo YT3-X90F using BariatricPal mobile app

I am having a "thanks giving" dinner with my family for my last supper. Thanks giving has always been a favorite of mine. Love my grandmas homemade stuffing! Sent from my Lenovo YT3-X90F using BariatricPal mobile app

Calling all October sleevers!!

Im all set for October 25th! Just found out yesterday. Feeling nervous and excited at the same time. Its coming up so soon! -
Hi everyone. Today my doctor called me with the results from my upper GI test and reported my GERD is severe. He told me the sleeve may make my GERD worse and talked with me about possibly getting the bypass instead or taking the risk and going forward with the sleeve. Any thoughts or experiences would be helpful. Thank you Sent from my Lenovo YT3-X90F using BariatricPal mobile app

I am also wondering if anyone could recommend a decent tasting shake. The weight loss clinic gave us 2 brands to choose from for the liver reduction diet. The first one is BioPro and the second one is Baratric Fusion. I got a free sample of unflavored BioPro. It was pretty gross. I also ordered a sample pack of the Baratric Fusion. I find that adding stevia and blending it with almond milk and ice cubes makes it a bit better but not the best. Sent from my Lenovo YT3-X90F using BariatricPal mobile app

I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea. I'm pretty young (26) so it was difficult for doctors to take me seriously. I always woke up with a horrible headache and would trip over everything and can barely function in the morning. This has been going on for years and I thought it was just normal for me and I just wasn't a morning person. I'm still waiting for my CPAP and I'm hoping this will help me feel better. This diagnosis makes me qualify for the sleeve. My BMI is 37. I had my appointment with my surgeon and he said using the machine will increase my chances for success with WLS. They also have a theory that my sleep apnea caused my rapid weight gain because I had no change in my eating habits. Best luck to you on your journey.
