Hello everyone. I need your help. I already had my surgery about 3 months ago and are feeling great at this point but, I have my wife who had hers about 3 1/2 weeks ago and she's still having a hard time. She's experiencing bad nausea, stomach discomfort and some vomiting. She's hardly eating anything because of how she's feeling. She has contacted her surgeon and he prescribed some nausea medication but, even with that she is feeling the same. She has an appointment set to see him next Monday. What I need help with is knowing if feeling this way is normal? I myself didn't go through that but, has anyone experienced this?

I definitely will.

It was set for next Monday but we moved it to this Thursday.

That is exactly how she has been feeling. Last night we where in the emergency room and they didn't find anything wrong. I just called the surgeons office and left him a message so that first thing in the morning we get to speak to him about the issue once again. Unfortunately his office is over 4 hours away so it's not like just a drive to his office around the corner but, she does have an appointment with him Monday so maybe we'll need to make it for sooner. I just needed to know that maybe some people have actually gone through it like she has, that way it'll give me some assurance that is somewhat normal.

We went to emergency last night but, they didn't find anything wrong. I just called the surgeons office so we'll see what he says tomorrow. Thank you for your advice.

You should be fine. Once they let you go home, you won't be on hard medications that would prevent you from working. I just had my surgery a week ago and I hardly had ny need to take my pain meds. I am walking around and the pain is to a minimum.

New here and scared about my surgery

Thank you. It really would help a lot to talk to someone who knows exactly what I'm going through. 😊 -
I am new to this support group. I am weighing 288 and been looking forward to having this surgery done for a long time now. I was very excited about being able to finally go through this process and finally be in track to a better living and healthy life. But now that my surgery is less than a week away, I am completely terrified. Just the idea of altering such an important part of my body is all of the sudden making me think twice about this surgery. I won't turn back now no matter what but, I was wondering if there's anyone that is feeling the same way and maybe some of you that have been through it already could tell me what to expect. My main worry for after the surgery is the pain. I've had surgeries before and I have been pretty good at tolerating the pain so I'm hoping is not as bad as I may be expecting it. I just need some advice and maybe chat about it so that I feel more confident about what I'm about to go through. Thank you all in advance.

That is awesome. I just started my liquid diet today. We'll see how that part goes. 😊 -

Omg! I had not thought about doing that. It is definitely something I will do. The soda is something that will be hard to leave but, I will start today to refrain from it. Thank you for your advice, it really helps to know this things. -

Thank you so much. I definitely feel better with knowing that it's really not as bad as I was thinking. Have you entered any depression stage? So far I've been hearing that normally people enter that stage about a week after. I'm glad it all went well with you and good luck with your success. -

Yes, that is definitely something I have thought about, the old habits. Sweets are my week point but, I was told that after surgery sweets are not exactly tolerated well so I hope it helps in that point. -
