That was also a concern of mine pre-op, but I was worried for no reason at all. The liquid diet will shrink your liver if you follow the protocol. Think positive thoughts and good luck to you! You’ve got this!!!!

Premier Protein Clear
Maggie1955 replied to AskingForAFriend's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Premier is very sweet; I usually water it down. I tried Protein2O and I like it much better. Not overly sweet at all. I especially like the coconut flavor. It also comes in fruit punch and grape. -

What? Sexting?? Is this really what there is to look forward to?

I’m putting in my two cents: plentyoffish.com - I was a widow (lost my husband of 31 years to the big C back in 2007). By 2009 I felt that I didn’t want to be alone anymore so I heard about POF and tried it out. Yes, I met men who were only looking for a hookup, but ultimately I met a widower who lost his wife back in 2006. We have been together since 2009 and we are in a committed relationship. Neither one of us wanted to remarry. I moved in with him in 2013. -
Sleeve or Bypass with GERD?
Maggie1955 replied to Jerseygirl4523's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had GERD prior to surgery and my surgeon said I could still have the sleeve. I am still taking Pantoprazole for it and haven’t really had an issue since surgery, which was 1/2/18. -
Good luck on your journey!

5 weeks and only 13 pounds less
Maggie1955 replied to Miami's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Are you sure you’re getting all your liquids in (64 or more ounces per day)? How many grams of protein are you consuming per day? I had my surgery on 1/2/18. I lost 20 pounds on the pre-op diet (which was almost 3 weeks long). I started out at 229 on 12/15/17 and was 209 on surgery day. Today I weigh 188.4. I had been in a stall for about 2 weeks. I started upping my protein a bit as well as upping the amount of liquids. In addition, I started playing around with keto type foods and I feel that has helped as well. I have only been walking as exercise, usually 2 1/2 miles every other day. I upped that to 3+ miles every other day and the scale started moving again. I have pretty severe degenerative disc disease in my entire spine, so I usually can’t walk every day due to pain. The days I do walk I try to push through the pain. Everyone will lose weight at their own pace. It sounds like you are a lower BMI, so you will likely lose way slower than someone whose BMI is higher. Hang in there......follow your plan and you will eventually start losing again. -
My program indicates no raw veggies until I am 8 weeks post-op. I think because the spinach in your smoothie was pulverized you should be okay.

April/May 2018 Sleevers!!?
Maggie1955 replied to BeckyVSG2b's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Please don’t worry about having your sleeve with the DaVinci robot......that’s how I had mine done and the incisions are way smaller than those used in a traditional laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. My doctor told me there is less pain using this as well, although I certainly did have pain after surgery. Also, I was afraid of losing too much weight pre-op and was especially concerned that if my BMI dipped below 35 (I had sleep apnea) that I would no longer qualify for surgery. Well, in the months leading up to a surgery date I actually gained 20 pounds! My pre-op diet lasted for almost 3 weeks and I was able to take those 20 pounds off before surgery. -

Not losing weight after bypass! Help!
Maggie1955 replied to cabookie11's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Don’t obsess over it......I had my surgery 1/2/18. I lost 20 pounds during a three week liquid diet and was 209 the day of surgery. I had my first stall at three weeks, just like so many others. I upped my protein and started walking......2 1/2 miles ever other day, which is awesome for me. The scale started moving again, ever so slowly the past week and a half. I will take it. I didn’t pack on the pounds in a couple of weeks - it took a long time, therefore I don’t expect to lose the pounds quickly. I’m okay with that - it will take as long as it takes. -
These look amazing. Thank you for posting the recipe. Will definitely have to add this to my breakfast rotation.

Phentermine after VSG your thoughts
Maggie1955 replied to Sleeveforme2017's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am only 6 weeks post VSG, but prior about a year prior to my surgery I was on a combo of Belviq and Phentermine and I successfully lost 38 pounds in 6 months, however at the 6 month point the combo stopped working and it was at that time that I sought a surgical approach. Truthfully, the Phentermine never really bothered me the way it does other folks. Ultimately it’s your body and your health. -
The best decision of my life.
