southernbellair79 replied to DMarie1983's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That sounds like your new “full” meter. -
I need advice/ help with getting back on track. I have totally gone off the plan and I have gain 6lbs. It seems like I can eat a lot more and I would like to feel some restrictions. I had my sleeve done July 2017. What are some ideas to get back on track?

Gang, Has anyone tested carbonation out yet? I had a Mimosa and everything was fine, ( I did drink it slowly). I just attempted to have a few sips of Diet Dr. Pepper and I almost DIED! Honestly it hurt so bad I did not move for about 2 mins. I do not drink sugar drinks and only wanted a a little pick me up from the Diet Dr. Pepper but the pain in my chest has not gone away.

Carbonation!!!!!
southernbellair79 replied to southernbellair79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do not have cravings for sugar. I don't eat sugar laced items on a normal bases, and my doctor okay Alcohol after 3 months. Carbonation as long as zero calories is also approved (sparkling Water ect). The reason why most doctors say no carbonation is due to drinking cokes and other sugar laced drinks. And carbonation does effect everyone the same. From looking at my stats we can all tell I am taking this life change seriously. In 3 1/2 months I have lost a total of 44lbs and counting. For me a mimosa/ wine here and there does not send me of the wagon. Each person's weight loss story and transformation is uniquely their own. I thought of the diet Dr pepper as it is zero calories, zero carbs, and I felt like I needed a little pick me up from the caffeine. If I could stomach the carbonation this would be a better choice than a cup of coffee with 3 sugars. Well all need to keep everything in perspective and remember that not everyone has the same Dr. after surgery instructions, and there are many outlooks on what is okay verse not okay after surgery. Making blanket states of " that is not allowed" is just not correct and not giving out the best advice to the newbies. I think it would be so much more helpful if we say " per my Dr.'s instructions" and advise that there are many outlooks on after care. -
Carbonation!!!!!
southernbellair79 replied to southernbellair79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is not a true statement. It can be a slider but it does not fill up your pouch. There are many videos and research out there that can be researched. It is much more of a discomfort then a stretching out your pouch issue. -

How are others handling carbonation and have you found different carbonation sources to play a part in the ability tolerate??? Just interested in learning many view points. -

Ibuprofen? Did your doctor approve that? Most every doctor say no more ever or only 1 dose very rarely after 3-6 months. -

I did not have to freeze any part of my body and I just took it directly in my stomach alteration sides. Did your nurse at the hospital not provide guidance/show you how to administer? -
I am also on omeprazole. I would suggest Prilosec otc and start with 2 pills to see if that knocks it out.

Social Drinking?
southernbellair79 replied to belluhfit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor says no carbonation but when I asked about sparkling water zero calories he said that was fine at the 3 month mark. The reason they say no carbonation ever is because they don't ever want us drinking coke and sugar filled drinks. But I confirmed zero calorie sparkle water is okay at 3 month mark if and big if my stomach likes it. My doctor also okay drinks at the 3 month mark but with caution as they are zero nutritional value. I loved wine before my surgery but I have not missed it so far. -

You can always place a bandage to secure the patch or just place it on you over night. -

Period/menstruation delay
southernbellair79 replied to peanut2772's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor stated that surgery effects your cycle big time. As long you know you are not pregnant, you will have to wait it out. I noticed that I had all of my PMS symptoms but nothing happened. I have my tubes tied and ablations so before it was very very light to nothing. But this month all the PMS symptoms but no aunt flow. -
