The calmer you are the better. I have now had several surgeries, the best piece of advice anyone ever gave me is that if anything happens you will never know. So just relax and go with the flow.....

Hi All, I am in Sydney and am looking for a support buddy, someone who needs a shoulder to lean on and can be my be my shoulder to lean ov through 2020. I need to lose 30kg and I have lost 65kg already. But now feel I need someone who is willing to sit down and talk to me and understand the journey I have been on. Cause lets be honest a normal person really does not understand. I don't want to whinge and moan but just someone who is experiencing the same things as me and wants a friend/partner to talk to. Message me if you are looking for similar. Cheers and wishing you all a fantastic 2020!

Most-used kitchen gadgets/utensils after weight loss surgery?
Marblicious replied to istytehcrawk's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I love my stick blender and lots of half cup sized tupperware. Something to be wary of with the Bullet blenders / juicers, when they blitz the food you are making into smoothies or juices, they split the carbohydrates from the fiber. What this means is for those who have diabetes or are pre diabetic it is giving you the sugar hit without the fiber connected to the carbohydrate at the molecular level. So be careful when using these kind of blender/juicers. -
Hospital bag suggestions
Marblicious replied to JealousMuch's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honestly you don't need much. Here is what I took: lip balm cause your mouth gets very dry 2 pairs of, soft pjs, but most of the time I was in a hospital gown Toiletries, because you will need a shower. Soft wireless bra to go home in Underwear I wore the same clothes home that I arrived in because I only had them on for an hour, Make sure you take things that are soft around your waist or loose because you will have incision sites there. A pair of slippers that are non slip My phone (cause I used it to read. but honestly I really didn't do much reading A dressing gown because you will be made to get up and walk to help get your blood circulating and get rid of the air they fill you up with Hand cream and face moisturiser I really didn't need anything else. -

My surgery is tomorrow!
Marblicious replied to The New Me 2018's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Wishing you a successful surgery. I hope you have got some Misa soup and made up some broth for the freezer. When you get to purees, try puree'd chicken soup. I loved it and it was so nice to have something else. Take time to let your body heal. gentle walks and no overdoing it. And take a pillow in the car for your tummy. I also took it to bed as it provided my stomach some support. You will do great and feel great. -
Constipation after Gastric Sleeve

My doctor recommended between 6-8 teaspoons of Benefibre every day in water. I have been doing that since surgery and it helps a lot -
Anyone not need plastic surgery?
Marblicious replied to TexasMommy80's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 53 and have lost 45kgs so far. My 52L cup bra size is down to 46k. So I am rolling them up and stuffing them into the bra at this point. I will definitely need a breast reduction and lift since they are dangling around my hips and as for nipples, I haven't seen them in a long time lol. bring it on I say. I really am not bothered by the stomach but would like my batwing arms done when I get down to goal, but have a long way to go yet. I think age plays a big part in it, my thighs are round my knees already so I expect that is going to definitely need to be done. Will have to start saving now for it. But still need to lose another 55kgs. Something I have notices is I have a rather large thyroidectomy scar on my throat and as I lose weight the skin seems to be bulging above it, giving my neck a rather lumpy look. Anyone else have a similar problem with previous scars? -
How the hell do you update these silly Tickers!!!!
-
Click on the drop down menu by your name and then select "My tickers" and then select "edit ticker." Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and select "continue" and then on the next screen "continue" again. You will then see a page that has your starting weight, current weight, and goal weight in which you can then edit. Edit any numbers and then hit save. This should update for you. Let me know if you have any problems!

Plastics or no plastics ?
Marblicious replied to dreamingsmall's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I started this process with size 52L bra's and I have dropped several back sizes but the L cup is still there and doesn't look like going anywhere yet. I have dropped about 94 pounds and still have a long way to go. I hope when I can get my boob reduction that I don't have to have implants, I think that would devastate me. I have had enough lugging these puppies around and them being the first thing everyone bumps into. Whoever mentioned rolling their boobs up has it right, I practically concertina them into my bra now lol -

Plastics or no plastics ?
Marblicious replied to dreamingsmall's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Mine are dangling round my waist at the moment and I really hate to think what they will be like when I lose more weight. I am sure a guy would prefer to see them perky with scars than dangling round the waist lol -
Mine stopped also due to my weight, I had my first one about 4 months after the surgery and it was terribly heavy. It is still intermittent and ranges from heavy to light I will be 6 months post op on 19th December. I had a bunch of tests done to check there was no issue and the doctor said it may take a while to normalise. I am also 53 so even though I am not menopausal yet, that may start to play into the reason mine may continue to be problematic

Plastics or no plastics ?

I agree with shedo82773. It is so important to lose it when you are younger. I am now 53 and like everyone here have battled my weight all my life. It is harder now than it ever has been. Same with Surgery, if you are gonna do it you are gonna heal and recover better and faster when you are younger. I really really wish I had had the wls 30 years ago. I also really wish I had my G cup size boobs reduced 30 years ago. But feel whether you do decide to have plastic surgery It is your choice for what is right for you, financially, mentally, physically. I don't think any of us should be ashamed to do what makes us feel better about ourselves. For me. I am lucky my insurance will cover some of it. I hope and pray that one day I can accept my body for what it is and for what I have done to it. I also hope and pray that everyone here can do the same. It is painful going through life feeling like a second rate citizen because we are struggling with our weight. I tell myself everyday, I am a good kind person and that is truly what I want to be. And no one should be ashamed of doing the things to make themselves feel even better. I think I got of the track a bit but just felt I needed to say something to all you beautiful people who struggle every day.
