Trying to diet but still crave that *&^^sugar
brandyII replied to brandyII's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded in 1847, no but it was a long time ago, last august but have been through some trials and tribulations of sorts when it comes to the lap band. I should have got it across my mouth! I'm sure there are plenty of people who would agree with that statement. Actually I'm still working on getting back on metformin, waiting on blood workup, and am on thyroid meds and I'm trying to stick with my plan of action which is Weight Watchers but all I have to do is one night of social drinking etc... and everything goes down the drain. But it just seems like right before my period it's almost uncontrollable. I normally drink nutrasweet in my tea. What makes Suzanne Sommer's sweetner better. I have one of her cookbooks where she's basically low carb or healthy wholegrain carbs. I've seen her on one of those QVC type info places but have never bought any of her other products. I don't think I could ever totally give up sweets forever. I try to stick with the WW frozen pops for a sweet but sometimes I want something more! I just hate losing two pounds to gain back three or something like that. Not giving up yet brandyII:thumbup: -
Oh, TommyO, some of these peeps are waaaaay past backsliding!!
-
That's why I get so mad at Greys but I still watch every week anyway. I think the viewing audience would be more receptive to two females as opposed to two males. I'm sure that even if they did get put them together, Hahn and Christine, they would fight and break up like everyone else does on the show! Let me know what you think of Mad Men and be forewarned, it takes place in the early 60s when women's lib wasn't much of a twinkle in anyone's eye. brandyII

TommyO, you could be like my bro-in-law when he asked his nephs and nieces one morning why they were going to church when they could just stay home and worship him! That's kind of sarcasm brandyII
-
Kat817, I agree, abuse in either form is wrong, brandyII.

I've heard those stories before too, it's really sad isn't it. People have no clue what their actions can do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for your honesty maybe people will listen but I don't have much faith in this group:confused_smile:brandyII

Thanks BJean, I give up, I know I'm just wasting my time but sometimes I feel I have to take it further because it affects innocent children. I don't consider myself to have been abused by my mother by her spankings but I've never seen a person who hasn't spanked without any anger, abuse of power or control. But like I said before, I've given up on this group of people as they only seem to care about that one judgement day in the end. Thanks brandyII:shades_smile:

Slimmy120, I had to look up what milo was and kind of know but in what form is it sold or name it's sold under. Is it purchased in the health food section of the store, sorry need more details, thanks brandyII -
BJean, I think you're right, Hahn should get together with Christina, that would make for some good TV! Maybe that's why she's so mean she's secretly attracted to her. I just get tired of Meredith and McDreamy always just so close then they break apart or one wants the other when the other doesn't want them. Why can't they just get frikn married and be miserable like the rest of the world!!!JK, brandyII Oh and watch Mad Men, I didn't tape it last Sunday so I don't know if the repeats are still on but it's really good! brandyII

That's why it should be illegal everyone has different ideas of what crosses the line. There are plenty of children that end up in the ER or worse because of "spanking". Just because a parent is okay with spanking their child doesn't mean the child isn't suffering from it in ways they're not aware of. Why is being able to hit your child so important to you people? "Spare the rod, spoil the child", there are plenty of strange/odd verses you can pull from the Bible that you would never consider doing aren't there? Mixing love with physical pain can cause some strange reactions in people and it's not necessary if you choose to use your head instead of your hand! brandyII, not very popular at this moment:thumbup:
-
No that was not my thread! So when you spank I assume everyone is jovial about it at the time, how is anger never involved in spanking that's BS and you know it! brandyII.
-
I'm glad you know the difference between abuse and spanking but I feel it hitting a child is abuse. I've been in the situation where out of five children the three older boys being spanked by my father none of which would have anything to do with him while he was at a point where he needed that extra assistance. I was always spanked by my mother and I was the only one willing to fly down and take care of my dying father. I'm so glad you know that your children love you even though you hit them. I know my father was hit by his father and I've learned there are more intelligent ways of dealing with children. There's always positive reinforcement versus negative!!!!!
-
Just remember "spanker/hitter/smacker" parents that these children that you choose to discipline in this manner will be the same children that will may have to make the decision one day to take you off life support (a little early), put you in a cheap nursing home versus a nice one or take you into their nice "loving:confused:" homes.:lol:brandyII

I like that!!

Mamato3, Just one more note, my MIL is coming up in about 10 days for a week and I had my surgery 8/07 and gained back all my weight and now I'm only down two since gaining. I can't wait to see what she's going to say about that! I'll make sure the whole forum hears it, LOL. brandyII
-
Congrats on the 50 lb loss!!!! That's why you're here isn't it? Support! The only thing my mother-in-law ever seems to notice is weight gain not loss so there must be two really good ones out there, brandyII.

Pix, I think we can all end this thread on everything including shopping by saying we wish you and your DH well and thank him especially since he's out there protecting our country, brandyII.
-
I think I need to see that movie again but will probably make me mad! brandyII

We were all just basically chit chatting about our local stores etc... and didn't really mean to get into a big fight about them.
-
Thanks, I think you expressed yourself very well on behalf of the men out there. I'm not too sure what a "double-creme brie" is but it makes me hungry now, thanks alot, brandyII. When I hear the term double cream I think of Brits so you must be.

This is completely off the wall, but I have the hardest time sending my husband's uncle gifts. Last Christmas sent him a really soft blanket. I think he's going to be 89 this year and he's like a father to my husband and me too. Normally he likes cheeses and things from one of those catalog places but I kind of wanted to find a nicer one than I normally send him. You know they look good in the catalog but the cheese is really small etc... He likes food baskets but didn't want to over do it, meaning give him too much that will go to waste but get something of a nice quality if anyone has suggestions, I shop a lot on the net, thanks brandyII.

Pix, What's the Vet thing with Target, I think I remember something in the news but can't recall now. Now I know where your husband is possibly and why you have a count down for him. Hope it flies by quickly for you! Hopefully answering this question doesn't start another big fight on LBT again, lol! I live out where they train the nuke sub peeps. brandyII Oh and I don't have that store you mentioned here. I do use Amazon a lot though.

Athinnerdenise, looked like a thinner nerd before, sorry! I've always have heard bad things about WalMart, it's not like I've ever heard "good" things. They stopped one coming into one of our towns about halfway between two WalMarts. They didn't want the traffic and lose the small town atmosphere etc... I don't know why they closed our KMart but none of the others in the towns nearby have closed. My daughter used to work at Target but wasn't too thrilled there either and now works at a bookstore and is happier. She had a pitiful discount anyway and that's what I wanted! It was always creepy going into a WalMart when they'd have those worker group meetings in the store and do cheers. I'd hate to work at a place like that. I think WalMart is constantly being sued but they make so much money it never seems to hurt them. I still prefer the grocery store meats and veg over WalMarts. I don't even find them to be cheaper when it comes to paper goods or pet food or laundry supplies so I usually only go there once in a blue moon! You'll probably get a Kohl's in your area eventually. We're in a small town and we have one. I don't go that much, it's usually when you don't have one that you want to go to one. Well have a good trip, I know you'll have to get your LBT fix when you're in AZ God knows what would happen if you missed a day right? brandyII.

I don't know what it is but it seems there are more Catholics leaving their church than any other religions. Maybe I'm wrong but you very rarely hear I'm an ex-Baptist or ex-Jew, it's alway ex-Catholic. I learned more from my two daughters about the history of the Catholic Church than I ever even imagined when I was in school and it's kind of scary some of the stuff I learned but I guess I always felt something odd with Catholosism just couldn't put my finger on it.
