I'm glad the sale went well, maybe you can donate the furniture to charity and use it as a tax write off which is what we did or possibly the people who buy the house will take the furniture. Anyway try to get some relaxation out of it you deserve it, brandyII!!!

Thanks you for your honesty. Although many do very well it's a real problem for those of thus who don't. Like you I've tried to go over every aspect to see what issue is affecting my failure. I don't want to rush into anything and doubt my surgeon would let me anyway. I've made some changes and gone back on my diabetes II medication and am hoping that may have a positive effect. Good luck to you and let me know if anything changes, brandyII.

I have never heard about that study with religious people, I know people who are depressed show differences. I don't know about aliens or alien abductions. I know there are some pretty credible people who have witnessed them and not only one at a time. But then I've also heard people who have been reqressed and found to have been sexually abused. There's a lot we don't know about the brain so nothing would surprise me.

Bitching and Moaning and Stomping my feet...Little bit of a Rant.

Let me tell you something about a food/artistic outlet. Ever since my daughter has been on the liquid diet, it's been 4 or 5 weeks, can't remember now, she's not painting, not writing she's cooking!!!!!! It's awful because she taken her love and lack of food and watches the Food Network Channel, came very close to changing her major from Art Restoration to going to Cooking School! I don't know how people can completely give up their love of food who really have it deep. I know there are times that are harder than others. I don't think I could, okay it's easy to tell with me but even if I were doing well. She's able to cook for others and not even taste it! I've never been that strong, it's almost crazy:scared2: It's good to be angry, let it out, isn't that what depression is, anger you're not able to express. Be mad! Start some stupid thread and fight people just for the hell of it and see how many you can suck in! Anyway you'll get back to it, like you said environmentally it's more of a challenge for you and that's not your fault. I always wished I could be like my friend who was thin ever since I was little that's a normal feeling. You'll get to where you want to be just remember you're a special girl and don't forget it!!! We all love you here!!!! brandyII. Oh and I was raised on blue crabs, still prefer them over your crawfish but they're good too! -
I would think the computer would really heat up your room, I don't think I'd like that. I grew up listening to the sound of the cars/trucks on the beltway about a block from my house as a kid and so I cannot sleep with quiet that's why the fan. As for my CPAP machine, it hums too so that's more noise and I cover the lights with a sock because they're pretty bright! I don't know if feng shui ever took CPAP machines into consideration but a person has to breathe! Are his dreams about thunderstorms, just curious. Research mirrors and feng shui, they're not always a good idea but you choose your source. Could your BF have sleep apnea also? My one daughter has night terrors, does he talk in his sleep or anything similar to that. Just a thought, I need to go to bed, I have to get up in 4 hours, byes!

I don't know now whether the metformin is working or not but that "going right through you" thing you were speaking of previously has been happening to me for the past two hours. I swear not since prior to surgery and prior to medifast shakes I have not had this gastrointestinal issue! Hopefully it's a good thing!

Ok, I know this is a topic that is probably been done to death!!!!! But please help me with this prior to my next appointment with my surgeon. I'm 2/10 full presently and have had probs as I've stated in way too many threads but I know everyone talks about the sweet spot and everyone's is different because of certain factors I'm assuming. Basically now I'm on meds to treat my diabetes II and my high cholesterol and I'd like to get to a point where I'm not eating around the band but not too loose where I can eat too much. Where do you prefer to be? Does that sound like a dumb question, I don't intend it to be. I mean some of you seem to want it really tight where you can eat a couple spoonfuls and that's it but don't eat around the band so you're successful. Just trying to get some ideas before conversing with Dr. Fillgood, thanks brandyII.:tongue2:

ATD, My dad's place was pretty small before we moved him and I'm embarrassed to say my brother lived down in FL and I would stay with him, had a pool and that was the only thing that got me through it but natch I did all the work. I love my brother to death and he works and had some issues with my dad that would not make for a loving relationship but at least I had a place to stay while I was down there. And that pool really helped and some Andre and a float! My dad's apartment stank so bad I couldn't stand it, I really needed a gas mask or something. He had fallen so many times and blood was just dried up everywhere, many, many trips to the ER prior to finally agreeing to an ALF. I remember going over to clean up his place, food, dishes pots stuff was so disgusting and I opened a window in his kitchen just to get some clean air and he complained that there was a draft. I really should have just taken one of the dirty pans and took care of the situation right then and there, but was the dutiful daughter and took it all in stride. But I will tell you one thing, I kept a running tab on everything it cost from flying down to taking a cab and he wrote me checks for all my expenditures. Trust me he got off easy! It was a year before I could get that stench out of my nose, I swear to God! Anyway it's nice to have a fellow dutiful daughter to share this even though I'm sorry for you and I don't wish it on anyone but I've never known anyone else who has had a similar situation before. Good luck and keep a tab! I can't believe your brother, makes mine look good! Good luck with the sale and I hope things go smoothly for you and you're able to get back home as quickly as possible! brandyII.

Coming from someone whose ticker had to go backwards it's hard to feel sorry for you but I know everyone has their disappointments. It's funny how you wish you were taller but I am 5'6" and my daughter getting the bypass is 6' and both of us wish we were shorter. I guess it's true grass is always greener. I can tell by your pic you're a beautiful girl so don't get so down on yourself, it will happen we all have a bad times. You can do it!!!! brandyII. You live down in LA where food is king, it must be even harder! My nephew is graduating this weekend from Tulane and I wish I could go but I think my hair would frizz!!! -
Georgiagirl, Wow, I guess I have nothing to complain about. I drive 45 minutes but I have to wait months for an appointment! I could have seen my old one but she was a real:cursing: and I did not like her bedside manner. I think she hated fat people! Why go into endocrinology if you don't like fat people? Come on:scared2: I still have to get to Georgia one day, my favorite person in the world is Paula Deen and I've never been to Savannah. I have her cookbook signed by her and her husband Michael, you probably don't even know who I'm talking about do you?

I don't think you're putting down people if you have nothing to stand up for you have nothing right? Everyone has something they're passionate about and this has not been my passion but is interesting reading. I finally looked up young earth as I had never heard of it prior to some of these postings and can see where you'd think they were a bit of a loon, I would also. Not trying to offend any of them on this forum but it's just not my bag! As for the tarot readings my 19 year old is the one who is gifted. I've always said she is very spiritual because I was pregnant with her when my maternal grandmother died and she was a very devout Catholic. My other grandmother was not a practicing Christian and told me stories about Edgar Caysie and others so as you can see they were quite opposite in some ways and similar in others. My daughter also sees auras and mine is pink, whatever that means. My brother sees halos and I'm not sure if that's something of a gift or something of a disorder, lol. He says he's only seen a few and I have one go figure:lol:! Anyway I'll keep on reading these as long as they're posted, thanks brandyII. And it's interesting to think of Australia as being kind of rebellious because of it's start as a penal colony, never thought of that. Oh and when my sister was visiting Australia she was in Sidney and Cairnes and wasn't familiar with any of those foods you mentioned but said she would go to the bakery because they made the best cream custard, don't know if it was a tart or not though.

Good for you, I hope to get it working myself one day! thanks brandyII.

Georgiagirl, Ever since being lap banded I've been constipated so I don't have that problem. I think the antidepressants add to it. I don't see my endocrinologist until August. It's amazing how few they have in my area, it's killer to get an appointment! So basically this is just what my PCP has prescribed for me so who knows what the endo will do. thanks Nancy.

Isn't that what people have said about European countries too? It kind of makes me laugh. I don't know why we're so different in so many ways here. Don't Americans tend to share more info than most other countries too? I mean when you meet people we talk too much or something. My daughter studied in Germany for a while and everyone was from a different part of the world and the only thing they had in common was their ability to speak the German language and it was the best experience of her life, well so far:thumbup:

Fanny, you're a cool and really smart lady! I don't think I could compete with some of you when it comes to Jepardy! I must admit I did not get the best education from the Catholic school system. I'll blame them and didn't finish college because I was more interested in moving out of my house so I got a job, met my dh and he finished school and got his masters so it's okay. I just wanted to make sure my two daughters got very good educations and my eldest graduates with her bachelors on Saturday and will begin her masters program in the fall. My youngest will start her third year of college in the fall. My three brothers all have doctorates and my sister has her masters. I am the only uneducated one in the family! I know it's a bit off the subject but I just wanted to state that I think you group of ladies are way out of my league when it comes to "smarts"! I do still dabble though in astrology and wish I could do charts but it's too hard for me on my own and need to take a class. I also picked up the tarot cards from my daughter and she bought me a set of my own and I tend you use them when I feel pressed on a problem! There really is no name for my belief system but it's okay and I'm okay with every belief system as long as they don't persecute others etc...brandyII.

Well according to your ticker you seem to be doing really well so you should be very happy with that. Do you take clonopin once a day or more than once. I've been taking it in the morning and in the evening before bedtime, if you don't mind me asking. Thanks brandyII.

I think that's why it's a good thing to move out of the bible belt if at all possible, lol and live somewhere where there are lots of different types of people. I benefited from growing up in the D.C. area, it's as far from the bible belt as you could get. I live in a small town in upstate, NY where it's more white bread but still it's NY.

Yes this is true but it seems as though we're beating a dead horse:whatchutalkingabout

I know where you're coming from somewhat, won't say totally because I'm not you. I prefer to call myself "a fallen Catholic" but still "spiritual". I see how difficult it would be for you to out yourself as an atheist. In certain circumstances it's difficult for me to out myself as a fallen Catholic or my daughter when she was wiccan and wanted to become a "High Priestess". How do you explain to the neighbors that she's not a satan worshiper even though she's traced a pentagram on the patio and has candles lit all around it at one of her feast days ceremonies in her black cape. She's finally found out that the wiccan community are not really what she thought they were and has left those beliefs behind her but still is a very intelligent and spiritual person. Maybe I don't know exactly what makes a person spiritual, maybe it's just a term I use to explain the feelings we have towards other people and living things. The good parts we've taken from religions, moral codes and such, Karma etc... I don't believe in organized religion for myself and always felt as if I were going through the motions during any Catholic service I've ever attended. It just seemed off to me and not true to who I was. It took maturity on my part to acknowledge that. Some people need some type of spiritual belief in order to get through their every day life or feel it's for naught. I've felt guilty at times because I did not force Christianity on them, I admit that. I wouldn't be human if I didn't question myself at times. And they were never baptized. Imagine how my Catholic relatives feel about that! Anyway I don't feel I am atheist or agnostic, I think there are a lot of people that lead similar lives. I respect your right to practice atheism and it's good to teach people about it so that they're not affraid and gain some knowledge etc...but other than that I don't know what the purpose of this debate really is.

Georgiagirl, How is your med different than just plain metformin? Oh and I bought Breyers sugar free ice cream today because of the pms and the MIL coming tomorrow and it was pretty good! I hope it's not bad for me but it's better than other choices I have made in the past!

Wasa If you take God of the scenario then prayer is a type of meditation that can be effective in many positive ways. If you have an issue it may help you sort it out. Placing God back into the scenario has the same effect. It depends on the person and the goal of their prayer but prayer is not always a plea bargaining tool or asking for something. But I think you know that already because from what I can tell from reading your posts you're a very intelligent person!

I wish Wellbutrin had worked like that for me. I loved not having all those side effects but like I said it was no different than taking a placebo, you're lucky! You're also 26 so maybe age has something to do with it too, I don't know.

Why do you think old ladies always carry big purses?
