Maybe Backing Out - Too Scared

I am sorry to hear you had to pay for everything yourself. I have looked into bypass multiple times over the years. I will tell you my doctor made all the difference and the support groups he offers. Listening to others who don't regret anything really made me finally take the next step. I am 8 days post op no real pain other then minor I was surprised the little pain I felt. I did get thrush but am being treated and am feeling much better. I have be dealing with hunger but the intake helps and I lost 15 pounds week 1. I hope you become more comfortable with your choice! Best wishes

    First Week

Week one is over and it was hard! I craved food mentally and then physically when I developed thrush. I had no idea I had it even with all the signs like hard to swallow pills and congestion feeling, coated tong, and intolerance to ensure and protein. Two days with nothing but Powerade and water was killing me. No one speaks about the hunger and food cravings in the beginning. I had my first pre op appointment today exactly 8 days after my gastric bypass. I will say my stomach feels great not too much pain other then the thrush issue. Good heads up if you do sugar free popsicles don't do the ones with the cream back to back. I did however have to change my liquids for my last week of liquids without being able to handle the ensure. Good plus fair life milk, cream of chicken soup with milk to thin, and trop 50 with half yogurt drink are all good alternatives. Bonus I am down 15 pounds week one!!!
