Nissen Fundo take down with VSG??
bannsleeve posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm very confident in my Surgeon and he has much expirence in doing the take down and sleeve as one procedure, so I'm not really wanting opinions on that. I'm just curious of the recovery and hospital stay of anyone that has had this combined surgery. Thank you [emoji6] Sent from my SM-S765C using BariatricPal mobile app -
Alright ya'll, so 6 days post op I sat up wrong and had horrible pain where my biggest incision it located. Well a few hours later that spot was very swollen. I did go in to the Dr. and they are confident it's not a hernia however it's a hematoma. Can anyone tell me about how long this will take for the body re absorb? they explained to me how it works but no time table. Thanks!

What did you take to the hospital?
bannsleeve replied to Williwaw's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I took 3 pajama bottoms and used everyone because (no one told me) diareah would possibly be an issue) flushable wipes, chap stick, slippers, my own blanket and pillow. Lap top & charger. Comb face wipes. I was going to be an over packer until I watched you tube videos that suggested to pack light because a lot doesn't get used and really it wouldn't. Best of luck to you Sent from my SM-S765C using BariatricPal mobile app -
I am post po 6 days. Had a 4 day hospital stay with a little blood pressure complication. I had a Nissen Fundo take down, hernia repair and sleeve. So that's my history. So WTH? I stepped on scale and was up 13 pounds I've started loading approx 2 pds a day but I'm not even where I was the day I had surgery! Why? I'm now on post op liquid diet consisting of protein shakes, water limited juice. Thank you in advance for your opinions and/or suggestions Sent from my SM-S765C using BariatricPal mobile app

Had sleeve done on Mon the 11th.. so post op by 2 or 3 days. I'm still in the hospital and working on sipping water. However each time I swallow it burns my chest for just a few seconds, is this normal? Sent from my SM-S765C using BariatricPal mobile app

Middle of the night panic attacks?
bannsleeve posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Surgery is 6am Monday morning I'm thrilled beyond belief was easily approved after meeting all requirements was met. I've worked very hard to get to this point. However as of last night I woke up at 2am in a panic Mindset with what in the heck am I doing? All the negatives just keep circling in my mind. I got up and pushed back those thoughts but my question is. .. outs this normal, just nerves getting the best of me? I'm not afraid of the surgery so not sure what's going on because I've been at this for over a year and, for the most part posiTive and exciting why now? How long was the surgery
bannsleeve replied to Drea8989's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery is scheduled for Monday and I'm scheduled for 3 hours because I'm also having another stomach procedure that needs to be done before sleeve. I'm not the usual case those. .I understand it's 30-40 minutes Sent from my SM-S765C using BariatricPal mobile app -

I'm so sorry! My heart just sank for you as I read this. My dates have been pushed back twice but I didn't get nearly as far as you have. How very disheartening. Please keep your head up. Stay positive! Although it doesn't help the keep an open Mind that Dr's have very real lives like you and I. Emergencies do arise and sometimes at very unfortunate Times such as this. Thank you for being so honest. .. I'm also having the same feelings. I bring myself back around with the reasons why I HAVE to do this but then before I know it the fear creeps back in Sent from my SM-S765C using BariatricPal mobile app -
My insurance is the one that required 6 months for me. I was pissed and wanted/needed it NOW. I'm just waiting for my surgery day to come around now and I'm so blessed and grateful I had to wait the 6 months. I used that time to learn to eat properly and a good exercise routine NOT to mention mental preparedness. .. Sent from my SM-S765C using BariatricPal mobile app

Excitement for my future is finally railroading the emotion of fear! I'm all over this and a "I'll show myself and this world what I'm capable of" attitude has emerged and I'm LOVING IT! ! Beyond thrilled to bring back the "me" I was before weight told me all the things I couldn't do... just completed my surgical skills class. Had my pre op with Dr and last nut appointment last week. Scheduled for Sept. 7th and ready to rock this out!! Thanks for letting me vent! Sent from my SM-S765C using BariatricPal mobile app

I would love to have a weight loss buddy! ! That would be so amazing to have somone to talk to that is going through the same thing. My hubby is as perfect as they come when it comes to support but can't fully understand the emotional slide we've been and will continue to be on. I'm so excited for us! You and I have such similar thoughts that its actually really good to know I'm not the only one. I started this process in early 2016 and quit because of this exact fear. I jumped back in and had to start from the beginning early 2017 and with the process of serious soul searching I have found how deep my mental addiction is to food and the void I fill with food. It's Absolutley a mind game and being in your head to much. I found that we are capable of changing this cycle. Each time I wanted to eat because of any emotion I replaced it with a good playlist and hit the trail walking. I'm not delusional and realize it's still going to b a struggle but I also know i have other avenues to fill that void. You and I are much stronger than we think and much stronger than this addiction. . Sent from my SM-S765C using BariatricPal mobile app

Oh man. . A flare would be a bummer. Hope that's not the issue. I've only tried the chocolate ones and really like them but hear Carmel is also very good. I can't find any where I'm at tho. I don't start my 10 day liquid until end of the month. Hope I'm strong enough Sent from my SM-S765C using BariatricPal mobile app
