I've cut down to 10/day from 20/day since September. I'm trying to lower that down to 5 but it's friggin hard! The liquid diet I'm having no problems with, but smoking... UGH! I'm hoping being in the hospital for 3 days not being able to will flush the nicotine out and I won't touch another one after that 🤞🏽

Yep. Me too. Today is Day 1. I was good all day but getting super hungry tonight [emoji51] Even raw veggies sound good right about now lol -
Getting nervous

I'm scheduled next Monday and I'm feeling the same. I scheduled my midterms this week and work is insane so that's keeping me from obsessing right now but I know Saturday I'll be freaking out lmao -

Thank you! I have heard so many wonderful things about Dr. Illan. I'm not worried about him at all. I'm just nervous I'll be that 0.09% that has complications especially after I return back home (Canada). -
Almost at the finish line! You will do great! I've been told countless times we'll be in great hands!

Oh! I wasn't aware they do operations on Saturday. Will you be at the hospital still Monday evening? I'll come visit after mine [emoji4] -
I start the pre op diet on Monday. I'm scared I'm gonna mess up somewhere along the way. I'm fine during the day because all I drink/eat are protein shakes & water to keep my sugar levels low but I'm hungry by the time I get home. Hopefully the soup broth will fill me up

9 more days!!! I don't know if I'm extremely excited or nervous... I can't stop worrying I'm forgetting to do something or check something off my to do list lmao

You can see an AMAZING difference! Have you tried your pre-op clothes on? Don't tell me they're not looser? You are doing great! #believeinyourself! -
That's hilarious actually! I might do the same thing with cinnamon. My blood sugar levels have been uncontrollable the past year and through the roof. My dad's side of the family has diabetes but they are all fortunate to be skinny and 1 simple pill in the morning controls it. For the past year they have all literally been gifting me cinnamon pills swearing by them and insisting I don't need insulin. I swear I have a stash of 10 or so bottles of the stuff. They've all felt sorry for me or made me feel less as a human all my life for being overweight. Now with age they're all slowly packing on the pounds and don't understand why. I may get them all to start taking cinnamon pills!

I'm scheduled for surgery October 30th and we'll be arriving on the 29th. Which Dr. are you through? -
I'm also 10/30 so I know where you're coming from. Then I read how happy 99.9% of the people who have had this done are and I am convinced that this is the right decision. I'm sick & tired of always being sick & tired. I'm sick & tired of feeling gross every time I look in the mirror or get dressed. I'm sick & tired of not having the confidence to participate in activities or talk to people or move up in my career because of this damn weight! As soon as the weight starts dropping and I have more energy there's so much I want and plan on doing! Chin up and everything will be alright [emoji4]

Thank you James! This was very helpful for me also!

Good luck to all of you today! Everything will go great and you'll. e running laps in no time! [emoji1417]

Mental Recovery Time
Angie's_Ocean replied to Angie's_Ocean's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thank you for the response! I'm scheduled to return home on day 4 after a long flight so hopefully by day 5 or 6 I'll be feeling well enough to get some serious homework done -
Hi everyone! I'm scheduled for RNY October 30th and I have 2 weeks booked off work. I know there are many threads discussing recovery time from the physical aspect. My question is how long does it take to be fully mentally alert as far as recovery is concerned? While I won't be doing any physical work during my time off I was hoping to be able to catch up on my courses which require a lot of mental effort. Did you guys find yourself mentally exhausted after the surgery? How long was recovery from that aspect?

I hope you all feel better soon! Thank you for updating us on your progress [emoji1417] I am now terrified [emoji23]

You can do it! It will be so worth it in the end! You're almost there!

Mental Recovery Time

Thanks! I appreciate your response [emoji4] Do you think you're able to comfortably sit at a desk? Not for hrs on end but 30-40 minutes at a time. -
On a side note I love that I can see the emojis now! Before, when using the BariatricPal app, they would only show in code
