Post-Op Travel Question
Angie's_Ocean replied to Marc76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have fun on your trip! Can’t say I’m not jealous haha! Luckily we’ve booked 5 weeks off in August to go to Greece. I know if you just walk into a pharmacy or supplement store you can buy protein powders. I’m not certain if the sell ready-made protein drinks. My concern is how do I pack ALL my vitamins I’ll need for 5 weeks without weighing down my suitcase? I might just order some vitamin patches for a lighter option -

Would you do it again?
Angie's_Ocean replied to ElseeG's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had a lower BMI but really severe Type 2 Diabetes that was rapidly turning to Type 1. I had to lose the weight fast or be put on an insulin pump. Or worse. I would do it again in a heartbeat! Not nearly as scary as I thought and my life changed for the better literally within days. Within 3 days I was off all meds & insulin and at 3 months I’m at my lowest ever adult weight. I feel amazing to say the least!@BariatricPal made it super easy to coordinate everything and I flew all the way from Canada! -

I follow a lot of WLS people but I’ve been following this lady for a while, even before her sleeve with Dr. Illan. She’s upbeat, enthusiastic, and a kind soul. She helped me greatly in my decision to go with Dr. Illan. https://www.instagram.com/just.staish -
Why did I read that in a Joey voice? [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] I have had ischemic colitis for years and thought I’d have to be looking for the nearest bathroom constantly after my RNY. BUT surprisingly constipation is the main issue.

I can't get used to being thinner!
Angie's_Ocean replied to DianeJarrett's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I haven’t gone shopping yet but I will have to soon. I’m 3 months post op and I’m still managing with the clothes I had when I was 45lbs heavier. And some ‘goal’ clothes I never could bring myself up to throwing away. I’m terrified to go shopping because I still think nothing will fit and I don’t even know what size I am now. I definitely still feel my 220 lb self. I can’t talk to my family about it either because they just get mad or make fun of me telling me I’m being over dramatic like those skinny people that always complain they’ve gained weight! I still feel big though [emoji22] -

Crohn's Disease Problems - Fat Crohnie
Angie's_Ocean replied to Mine7766's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi guys! Ulcerative colitis here. I went to Mexico in October and had a full bypass not a mini bypass. I’ve only dumped once since then, and if anything I was used to it from all the years of flareups. Everyone is super scared of dumping syndrome; just routine for us! Lol. I was initially scared of what the bypass would do to my large intestine and how my system would react but If anything now I find I can tolerate seeds and vegetables much better than before, and I don’t have to wait for the weekend to eat them just to make sure I don’t get sick while at work. I’m so happy I made this decision and went through with it, my life is 100% better because of this! -
I’m almost 3 months out. When I eat anything past 2-3 oz. I start belching like a trucker! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] my husband thinks it’s hilarious but I’m just worried we’ll go out for dinner or have company and I won’t be able to control it!

Thank you for posting this! Im in the category with less weight to lose. Started at 198 day of surgery. I’m less than 3 months out and I’ve lost 24lbs so far but the weight is coming off slow, especially since right before Christmas. It seems like each week it’s harder and harder to lose even 1lb and it’s driving me nuts! I still have 39lbs to goal! I see all these incredible 6 month transformations on Instagram and it’s getting to me. This reassures me that I’m on track at least.

I officially have collar bones!!! [emoji322][emoji322][emoji322]

I have officially lost a human leg! Thank goodness I still have my own two!

I’m 6 lbs. away from being my lowest teenage or adult weight ever, which makes me really happy but really sad too thinking about it because at the time I was in an extremely abusive relationship with a d**che who kept telling me how fat I was but he loved me despite this. Ah! So many good memories *insert sarcasm*

I was super late for work today and didn’t grab anything for lunch today. I remembered this post and grabbed one during lunch from Tim Hortons (a Canadian version of Dunkin Donuts). I am 4 weeks post op. So far so good, hopefully I don’t get dumping later [emoji1431] I was able to eat way more than 2 oz. though. Is this considered a slider food? -
Post-op pooping

OMG! 32 days out and I am still having issues. I only have a BM every 3-4 days and more often than not it’s the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced as far as BM is concerned. Today I almost missed work because I was too weak after to even stand up! I’m gonna order some smooth move tea from Amazon for sure! Anyone have any good reviews for the squatty pottie? [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] -
24 days post op. Been in a stall since Nov. 16th (prior to the 3 weeks). And I feel so bloated all the darn time! Does this feeling ever go away?
-
Hi everyone! I’m 6 days post-op and starting my vitamin regimen today. Does anyone have an example of what vitamins they take at what time? Do you set alarms, reminders, etc. on your phone?
-
I had RNY 10/30 also and my weight hasn't budged in 3 days. Hopefully, it will a little tomorrow. I know I shouldn't weigh myself daily but that's something I've done for the past 25 years, kind of a hard habit to break...

Today, someone took a random photo of me that I didn’t automatically hate. 17 more pounds and I’ll be at the lowest weight I’ve ever been as an adult, which was 15yrs ago!

Thank the Lord for Milk of magnesia! That’s all I can say [emoji57]

I can have Greek yogurt & cottage cheese next week. As well as fruit or veggie smoothies [emoji4] Never thought I’d be so excited about yogurt lmao

Really? I’m sooo jealous [emoji31] I’m still on clear and milk liquids. I’m not allowed soft cheese or purées for another 2 weeks I think
