Sleeve complications again!

They insert a balloon and dilate my stomach to straighten the kink -
So I haven't been on here for a while but had to share with others my experiences with the gastric sleeve. I had my surgery on April 12, 2016 the first 6-8 weeks it was going great some vomiting here and there while getting used to the new ways of life. Then the now and then became more and more frequent til I was vomiting daily. I this was not right so I had a long talk with the doctor he told me he was thinking i had a kink in the sleeve and sent me to a gastroenterologist. This doctor was sure it was a kink and scheduled me for a Esophagogastroduodenoscopy or EGD on August 12, 2016. The EGD went well for about 2 weeks than slowly I started vomiting again more and more, back to the doctor then to get another EGD on October 20, 2016. This time it seemed to do the job by the end of January I was doing good than the beginning of February the vomiting started again back to the doctor and April 25, 2017 EGD #3. I knew it linked again by may but I was sick of it so I decided to stick it out, BAD MOVE on July 27, 2017 I was rushed to the emergency room with Severe dehydration because I couldn't keep anything even ice down. July 29,2017 EGD #4. After that one I could tell it wasn't going to be long be i was back there and i was right November 8, 2017 I went in for EGD #5. After that last one it was a 100% different feeling not for the good but I pushed through and waited it out. I went in for my 2 year post OP appointment on April 10, 2018 (2 days before my 2 year) and doc was not happy to hear I am scheduled for my 6th EGD on May 10, 2018 so after looking at my labs and my upper GI from January I was told that my body is basically like rejecting my sleeve and my new lifestyle I have to live. So now i am waiting for a call from the doctor to start my new journey of having a gastric bypass done on my sleeve (revision) before I could think of what I should say I started crying and repeating "Why on earth did I do this to myself. I regret ever having this damn surgery". She calmed me as much as she could and now I'm waiting for this all to begin. When I was 18 months post OP my OBGYN gave me the go ahead to try for a baby. We decided to wait a little longer because he was working out of state. Now that he's back and we want to start a family I am told that I can't for another couple years. My life is crumbling and I am so disappointed that I can't start the family my boyfriend wants I'm even considering telling him to leave me and find someone that isn't a broken mess.

Kinks are the same as a kink in a garden hose nothing goes through a kink can form in your gastric sleeve, causing nausea, vomiting, difficulty swallowing or food intolerance EGD - esophagogastroduodenoscopy Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) is a test to examine the lining of the esophagus, stomach, and first part of the small intestine. EGD is done in a hospital or medical center. The procedure uses an endoscope. This is a flexible tube with a light and camera at the end. The procedure is done as follows: You receive medicine into a vein to help you relax. You should feel no pain and not remember the procedure. A local anesthetic may be sprayed into your mouth to prevent you from coughing or gagging when the scope is inserted. A mouth guard is used to protect your teeth and the scope. Dentures must be removed before the procedure begins. You then lie on your left side. The scope is inserted through the esophagus (food pipe) to the stomach and duodenum. Air is put through the scope to make it easier for the doctor to see. The lining of the esophagus, stomach, and upper duodenum is examined. Biopsies can be taken through the scope. Biopsies are tissue samples that are looked at under the microscope. Different treatments may be done, such as stretching or widening a narrowed area of the esophagus Sent from my 5049Z using BariatricPal mobile app

You should receive no judgement from a support page. You do what you need to do to be a happy healthier you. I have only had 1 sleeve surgery but I have had 3 gastrointestinal surgeries for kinks in my sleeve and want plastic surgery but can't afford it yet. Good luck on your surgery sweety. I had my gastric sleeve surgery on April 12th 2016 and I could tell there was a problem right after. I couldn't keep anything down I found out I had a kink in my sleeve. They sent me to gastrointestinal doctor who dialated it with a balloon on August 12th 2016, October 20th 2016, and again on April 28th 2017 (it kinked 3 times so far and I think it is kinking again). But I made it from day of surgery weight of 254 to 162 in January 2017 I was happy as a clam. Recently I've been gaining weight I had to cut my working out quite a bit because I had to have knee surgery on may 12th 2017 I also have fallen off the good food wagon a bit and started drinking soda more then i should and cut back on water which I shouldn't have. I'm going to start back to a healthier lifestyle and cut the soda to low to none amount. I have gained almost 15lbs in the last 5 or so months and I am so scared that I will gain it all back. I need support on my journey, words of encouragement, someone to say you are going to be ok. I went to put on a pair of jeans I did fit in fine before this morning and they were a tight I broke down and cried, I feel i may be going backwards.

Questions about bariatric surgery
Jellibean88 replied to skyewolfe's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Kinks are extremely rare but they do happen. I didn't know it was kinked at first about a month post op I wasn't able to keep some foods down then I started not being able to eat at all I threw up all solid matter. Finally in mid June I talk with my surgeon because I was unable to consume anything with out throwing up and I mean EVERYTHING water included. I was so sick I started randomly fainting and started have heart dysrhythmia. The gastrointestinal doctor who dilated it. He puts you under and inserts a balloon that dilates as many millimeters thick as the doctor thinks best with the hopes of straightening out the sleeve. The kink returning is even more rare but it can happen I was told it's nothing I'm doing my body is doing it on its own. He said some people need to only be dilated once some need 5 or 6. I have had 3 kinks my sleeve surgery day was April 12th 2016, first dilation was August 12th 2016, second October 20th 2016, last one was April 28th 2017. I'm having food intake issues again I don't know if it's my recent bad eating and drinking habits or if I am developing a kink. I have to change my bad habits and see if that helps if I change them and I still can't keep stuff down then to the gastrointestinal doctor I go. Sent from my SM-G935P using BariatricPal mobile app -
Questions about bariatric surgery

I had sleeve on April 12th 2016 I had success in the loss going from 254 day of surgery to 162 I have gained almost 15lbs back but I'm going to get back on track. The best thing I will say is RESEARCH everything including rare side affect. I get sleeve kinks and have to go to a gastrointestinal doctor who dilates it to fix this. But I am way healthier then I was I had high blood pressure, pre diabetes, pcos, and asthma. Now my blood pressure is great and I'm no longer pre diabetic, pcos is fading also. The asthma won't go anywhere though allergy related. I'm happy I did the surgery but wish I had been informed of the kinks being possible cause they suck.
