I am also a moderate diabetic, when I had my consult with the dr to discuss which surgery to get I was told that due to the malabsorption part of bypass it helps lower blood sugar within a few days to weeks before significant weight loss. That is why i like chose the bypass. -

I finally got the call... I am approved!!!! but i don't meet with the surgeon until Dec 6th. Thats when Ill get the date and it my not be until Jan but hey I am approved

I must be losing my mind... I got approved for surgery, but found out my surgeon is on vacation for the next couple weeks so I cannot see him until Dec 6th. That is when I will schedule surgery. I asked if she knew aprox when the surgery will be, and she told me he may not be able to operate until after the first of the year depending on his schedule... this has me so bummed that I am not even celebrating that I got approved... WTC is wrong with me??

I am better today I have let myself get happy that I am approved but yes it is torture bc I will not have a date until Dec 6th... ugh but maybe Ill get lucky and will still get a date in Dec...

Just heard from my doctors office and my Insurance approved my surgery!!! unfortunately my surgeon is going to be out of the office for a couple weeks so I cannot see him till Dec. 6th. They will schedule surgery then... They also said it may be after the first of the year before he can operate. So Yay approval but still the wait....

I cant wait to tie my shoes without getting lightheaded and out of breath, to be able to stop taking at least a few of the 11 meds i take now, to be able to wrap up in a regular towel instead of the giant bath sheet... so many things -

Congratulations on 2 years clean... I know about addiction transfer... mine was the other way around though... I started with Meth then went to food... I have been clean for going on 11 years... and I am working on food addiction now. You will get through this... if you can quit meth and opiates you can do anything... best of luck on your journey!!! Thank you for sharing. -

I will not get my date until I get my approval... but all insurance and programs are different... congrats on getting your date. That is my birthday!!!!
