  2. Has anyone changed jobs during the pre-op stage of surgery? I currently work in hospital registration. My hours lend well to me having morning appointments whenever I need to. It would not be an issue for me to take time off to recover from surgery either. I've also met my deductible and have only $500 left on my out of pocket. Today I had two back to back interviews at a health insurance company. Before I left the interview, I was asked to interview with two more mangers (2 other positions). I also was contacted today by another insurance company to do a video interview. If I get the job with the company that I video interview with, taking time off won't be an issue. I would work from home. The issue I would have is needing to take time off 6 months down the road after being newly hired at the other company. Has anyone experienced this? How did they handle it? Did they have to start the insurance process over again? Did they let management know up front that they might have a procedure in the near future?

    Convincing partner to have WLS

I am at the very early stages of the weight loss surgery process. I am a person that has to research everything and this is what I am doing currently. My partner could benefit from the surgery too, but I don't feel it is my place to tell her this. She is an emotional eater and often binges. If she was to have surgery, should would need to have counseling and a lifestyle change in order for it to be successful. She attended a pre-surgery class two years ago and decided that it wasn't for her. She was probably 100 pounds lighter then. I told her that I am looking into having VSG. I do countless researching online during my free time, I did a sleep study last week, and I will attend a class in August. When I first brought up the surgery she made comments about the cost and about me taking time off work. She is now in the rolling eye phase. She knows me well enough to know that I am stubborn. If I set my mind to something, I will do it. She did say recently that she wants me sit down and go over the different weight loss procedures with her. I am more than willing to go over my research, but I will not try to convince her to make this choice for herself. If this is what she ultimately wants, then she needs to put in the work. She needs to find out what she needs to do to be successful and find out why other fail. The choice will ultimately have to be hers. Like any addict, no one can make that choice for them.
