This is a pretty fun topic 1. I still haven't lost my sweet tooth, I just keep it to small bites. 2. I am still having a hard time adjusting my portion size to the reality of the size of my stomach. My dog is the beneficiary of So Much Wasted Food. And he keeps me from overeating. I feel guilty about 'wasting' food, but if I'm feeding him, it's not wasted right? 3. Every day I struggle to make the right choices, but I do weigh myself daily and accept the responsibility that any uptick is the direct result of a poor choice the day before (even if that is not true, it's my delusion and I'm sticking to it.) 4. Part of the issue is that in 5 months I have yet to experience a full on episode of 'dumping syndrome.' I think I've had very mild/partial reactions to heavy carb/sweets, but nothing like what I was expecting. I have to rely entirely on my own willpower to make the right choices. 5. I struggle with water content, protein content, and getting enough exercise. I know that I don't want to be someone who regains all of my weight and I try to be mindful that this weight loss experience won't last forever.
  2. No nausea here either thankfully. I too was expecting much more in the way of discomfort and in a way, was relying on the discomfort to act as a negative reinforcement. Only thing I notice is when I eat too fast/mindlessly. I am one month out and my diet options have expanded considerably. Which is both a blessing and a curse lol
  3. Now being 5 weeks out, the dreams have diminished but I still love watching food porn type stuff on Food network. I have to keep reminding myself that it's not realistic anymore to make random batches of baked goods unless I'm giving it all away.
  4. I have actually not had any diet coke since July 29. The step down method helped with transitioning to better drinking options, but I still had to deal with some headaches off and on for about two weeks. Still miss it though, but it's not ruling my life like it was.
  5. 4 days post-op from gastric bypass. So far everything is healing up well and I have been compliant with all dietary limitations. Every single night, my dreams have been extremely food oriented, more than I've ever experienced before? Is this common? Thus far I've dreamt about: chocolate covered cinnamon rolls, making and eating homemade biscuits, crinkle cut fries, and deep fried cod? These things were all within the context of other things going on in my dreams..but it's all very vivid. Fortunately I'm not driven to actually want that stuff. But I am very aware of the fact that my stomach is "meh" about food, but my brain still hasn't quite synced up. And I'm not taking painkillers or anything. Maybe it's all the artificial sugar in the protein shakes [emoji13]
  6. I am 5 days post bypass and just a little while ago I had some halo top just to get a different taste in my mouth. So far it hasn't caused me any issues. Since its low in protein would be good to mix it with a shake.
  7. Did you quit the Diet Coke cold turkey or phase it out? I am in the same boat myself with my surgery coming up in 3.5 weeks. I was thinking of mixing in Caffeine Free Diet Coke into my intake until I was entirely off the caffeine?
