Okay everyone---so I am still on the full liquids until next wednesday and it does SUCK, but has gotten much easier through each passing day. And the scale showing my loss of 20 lbs. sure has helped with the motivation!!!! Today I Celebrate my 32nd birthday and as I came home from dropping the little ones at school I took a moment to just stand outside, take in the fresh air and feel GREAT!!! And I do!! While 20 lbs. is just the beginning it sure is a great start and if I am feeling this good today, I cannot wait until I rach my goal of 110 lbs. lost!! My posts in the beginning had me contimplating if the band was right for me, but in a matter of 2 weeks I know it is and don't question it anymore! This is a journey where the benefits are endless!! Today is MY day!!:blushing:

Hi all. So it's my 6th day and things are better. But at least once a day I start to slime and either dry heave or throw up liquid. I don't know what is going on. I KNOW i am not cheating--straight full liquids and nothing else. docotor said that my band is very high up under my breastbone and when i feel the pressure in my chest it is my full feeling. how can that even be possible when the rest of my stomach gurgles with stomach pains?? i am heading back to work next week and how embarrasing it will be if i have to run off to the bathroom suddenly to throw up. my workplace is so small they will all hear me!! i wanted to ask also about lifting. my doc says no more than 5bs for two weeks. wel my hubby has been home for the week helping with the kids but next week its all me. he is gone by the time we get up and i have a one year old who is more than 5 lbs!! how did everyone manage with this??

you are so not alone!! i kept saying " well, this is the last one!" and it'd be like 10 of them later!! i think it is a normal thing but don't let it get you swayed. best of luck!!

3 weeks Post Op - Feeling Guilty
CanHardlyWait replied to BSWhip08's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i am 6 days post -op and on the full liquids...just found out my doctor can't see me till the 28th which gives me extra liquid days as they say not to advance until i see them. the mind over matter is the worst!!! my husband is heavy and today he sat in the living room chowing on grilled cheese and a pepsi--i swear i could taste it! i wanted to ram it up his rear though! real supportive!! i think we are all going to crave and sometimes cheat. we are human. that is part of this journey. we just need to remember why we are doing it and stick to it!!! the outcome will have benefits that are endless!! -
So each day here seems to be improving. My headaches have subsided--yeah! And not much more vomiting....weird last night in the middle of the night i felt the slime and had the urge to throw up, but when I got to the bathroom and just spit up the saliva it passed--i know it sounds gross, but i am sure you all can relate. What I need is suggestions!!! I am on liquids and I am siping water...sugar free drinks don't taste right to me right now. I am also doing sugar free ice pops and fudge pops! But that is not much of a variety...any suggestions?

CanHardlyWait replied to sbdlady1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i was banded on the 12th ans am having the hardest day today with full liquids. i had a post earlier looking for suggestions cause i am sick of fugde pops and ice pops and Water...i need FLAVOR!!! and i am sensing that gurgling and it is odd....i am afraid to have something else as I don't want to vomit. There is this tremendous pressure now and then in the middle of my chest that comes and goes but is quite painful. the port area is alot more sore than I expected but i can deal with that thus far. -
How the surgery is done?
CanHardlyWait replied to YoungNy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
standing up? wow, i can't imagine how they would do that. I kept my panties on and wore a gown and some slipper socks. I walked myself into the room and was still covered with my gown when I went under and it was on when I woke up..I was laying down and they put booties on to keep you blood flowing during the procedure. i remember nothing and I am sure you won't either. your nerves get the best of you really...you'll do fine. -

Get excitied!! You are making the first step to making the biggest change in your life! I was banded Monday and while these past 4 days have been a bit of a rollercoaster, as each day passes I am happier I did this! I have been carrying an extra 110 lbs. for the past eight years after my kids and I just had to do something! You are making a great choice and while maybe things don't always seem to work out for you, put your faith in the Lord and he will lead you on this journey! Stick with it!! Best of luck!!

Did preop process require a lot of personal time?
CanHardlyWait replied to skinnyoneday's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to say that here in CT my doctors were so accomadating to schedules. Alot of my visits were in the evening after work and some on weekends. I think maybe I left early once. I had a need to work and did not want to use up all my personal time as I have little ones and well all that time is needed for just in case things. I think if you communicate your schedule they will do their best to work around it for you. -
Snappy~ While there are def. no quotes in the bible for lapband the following are something to keep in mind as you begin your journey. They were a real help to me. Remember, God is great!! Put your faith in him! Ps. 145:18The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him sincerely and in truth. 2 Thess.3:3 Yet the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and set you on a firm foundation and guard you from the evil one. Ps.91:2 I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortess, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I confidently trust!

encourage me PLEASE!!
CanHardlyWait replied to CanHardlyWait's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I would have to say that I was a soda drinker. Always regular, never diet. And I lived on Snaple Ice Tea~talk about sugar shock!! So I guess that can be a possibiity for a headache. And my Water intake is small as I never know when I should be sipping..10 min. , 15. min....ughh! I think I may have gotten through one bottle of water yesterday and half a box of ice pops. I am not taking any pain meds. I have them but am trying to get by without them as I am afraid I will get sick on them and I don't want to vomit anymore. Maybe I should just give it a shot. If I got rid of the headache I might be in a better zone with it all. Did anyone sleep alot? I am not sleeping well through the night and during he day am napping almost constantly. I have two small kids so mayb I am trying to get it all in while I have my husband helping me out. Not sure though. -

Needing tips and ideas..two days out
CanHardlyWait replied to CanHardlyWait's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to take yet another nap and when I woke I checkd the forum to see if anyone responded to my post. You all offered some great advice and I have to admit, it really is encouraging. Feeling this way makes me so discouraged and I don't want to regret this..I want to be happy I have done this. My husband is going to get me a variety of ice pops and I am going to put in a call to the doc. to see about the nauseau. I didn't even think of band slippage.that made me nervous. The nurse from the hopital did call today and I let her know the deal and she said it sounded normal. Man, they just don't know unless they have been through it. I don't think I am going to mess with the MOM, but I did get Gas X in case the back and shoulder pain continue..thankfully it has subsided. Or maybe the nauseau makes me forget about it. -
Hiatal hernia repair with Lap Band
CanHardlyWait replied to donnaw725's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I went in for my endoscopy they found a small hiatal hernia in me as well. I was unaware they had to repair it and I don't recall them mentioning it and I am being banded Monday the 12th on May....so is it a necessary thing to repair before being banded? -
I will be a complete Bandster on Monday May 12~!!
CanHardlyWait replied to CaliGirl626's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

I'm getting nervous...
CanHardlyWait replied to SeattleSweetie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have faith! Someone (i think you know who i am talking about here) has lead you trough this process. As simple as it has seemed, the hard part will soon begin with you! Think of why you are doing this and the great outcome that will soon be! I am going in on the 12th and share your EXACT same worries! But I think that since I am making a positive choice to change my lifestyle that it will be okay and I am going to let my faith lead me! Best wishes to you! You are going to be fine--no worries :frown:
