Factor 75 - wow, this looks like THE ANSWER!

I agree, that is the main reason I like Plated. I loved being able to make meals and I actually held onto the recipes and made some of those meals, on my own. I love them!

Factor 75 - wow, this looks like THE ANSWER!

I was just looking at Plated, their menu has changed, significantly. The last time I ordered was in 2015, but the types of foods I'm looking for now, do not fit my needs. I'd have to modify and severely limit a lot of what I'd be able to order and that'll get boring, quickly. However people choose to eat healthy, that's what I'll support. If that is having meals delivered, so be it. I will not belittle them or make them feel as though they're less than me or anyone else. Your tone was not a settling one, so @JohnnyCakesresponse and disgust your comment, I can understand. I may not have reacted that way or even reacted at all, but I can understand his distaste. I suggested meal service or a personal chef for my mother and her husband, they're always on the go and that service would work best for them. By the time they get home and settled, it's already the early evening and being able to grab a healthy meal from the fridge and being able to heat it up and eat, is great. What works for one, may not work for the other 5.
  4. If they already made the changes, I'm not sure, but they will have until 2018 to do it. https://www.cov.com/~/media/files/corporate/publications/2015/06/fda_issues_final_determination_withdrawing_the_gras_status_of_phos.pdf
  5. I used to follow that show and like LOST, I lost the interest There were several good drinks on the list, I think I'll research those before adding them to my "what's new" list.

    Plastic Surgeon Dallas Area

Dr.Fox has retired and I'm now looking for a new surgeon for follow up appointments, may I ask who you used and if you liked the progress w/ that Dr.? My records were transferred to Dallas Bariatric Center, but if I have to pick a new Dr., I'd prefer they be closer to Arlington.

    Isopure Unflavored Protein

I feel you on that one, this is the one liquid protein I actually enjoy. Powders, if I use them, I tend to deal with on the weekends. Welp, there's that!

    Isopure Unflavored Protein

Same here, I'm so bummed. Let me share the link w/ you, there are others that look yum, and are on their good list. Well, I guess I'm returning my case of Premier back to Sam's http://www.eatthis.com/protein-shakes

    Isopure Unflavored Protein

This was on the worst of proteins, list. 12 PREMIER PROTEIN Per 11 fl oz bottle, vanilla: 160 calories, 3 g fat (1 g saturated fat), 270 mg sodium, 4 g carbs (1 g fiber, 1 g sugar), 30 g protein Commonly used in over-processed breads, DATEM (DiAcetylTartaric acid Esters of Monoglycerides) is used as a shelf-stabilizing emulsifier in both dough and protein shake applications, as protein powder is notoriously difficult to mix with water. Unfortunately, this additive is often made from artery-clogging partially hydrogenated oils, which the FDA will ban from food products starting in June 2018. Premier Protein responded to us and said their DATEM is only made from fully-hydrogenated oil—but why use it in the first place, when so many others don't? Hold up wait a minute, let me put a "WHAT O.o" in it! Have you seen this?

    Isopure Unflavored Protein

I had that same issue and ended up returning the powder, I paid a decent amount for the container. I gave up on powders at a certain point and eventually, went to liquid proteins. I will make a shake and add protein to it, but I mostly get my protein from Premier (bars and shakes) or through eating. I mostly prefer to eat my protein, there are some days where I'm just not in the mood, on those days, I revert back to bars. I love their products, but they can be a pretty penny. When I make shakes, I use one of their products per the taste I'm in the mood for that day. Yum!

The good, bad and the ugly. CARBS!

In the beginning, I thought I could snack on Chees-Its and I stalled. When I had a follow up appointment, my Dr asked what I had been eating. Every day, I had a serving of those crackers, those amazing delicious ever so lovely crackers, and that is where my stall came from. Once I told them goodbye, I started to drop again. Oh the little things, can have such a big impact on our success.

    Itchy!!!!!!

I had the same issue, I just lightly rubbed them for about the first week. Afterwards, things seemed to mend themselves.

Factor 75 - wow, this looks like THE ANSWER!

I pretty much do the same, but not everyone is capable of cooking a great meal nor able to find the time to fully commit to making a daily meal. I think for those, this is a great idea, but this company, I'll pass. I used Plated and really enjoyed preparing their meals. Since the surgery, I put that to rest.
  15. HA, this is a great way to end the night! lol Wow

    Multivitamin and Calcium Citrate

This is what I'm using, I'm happy I'm almost out. I had no idea O.o I think my Dr. had Caltrate on the list, knowing me, I read it wrong.
  17. If you're easily insulted or offended, I'd highly suggest you not address a range of different people, w/ different views. I hope your day has been a beautiful one, be well dear.

    Multivitamin and Calcium Citrate

I get the citrus liquid multi through, Amazon (Centrum,). Calcium Caltrate, I get the soft chews (I forgot who makes them). Everything else, is very tiny and doesn't make it a challenge to take. Watch out for the gummies and kiddo vitamins, I was told those are the vitamins we need to stay away from.

    Fried pork skins

I eat pork rinds, I made sure that was one of the first things I asked my Dr. The only thing he stressed, was drinking water and making sure I hit my count due to the sodium. A small bag of rinds has 7 grams of protein, 5 grams of fat, and no carb's. At least, the rinds I get. Yum! Cracklings, I will not touch.

    Alone After Surgery

I wasn't alone, but if I were, I don't think it would have been impossible to manage. Ahead of time, I stocked the fridge and supplied everything I felt would be needed. The only thing I really needed my boyfriends help with, were the shots of my blood thinner, I had to do that for a month after the surgery.

    Travel question

For me, a trip like that would be way too soon. After two weeks, I tried to take a lengthy grocery shopping trip and I failed and ended up having to leave with what I had. I was so zapped for energy, I could only imagine how I would have handled a trip. At the time, we had a trip scheduled for Universal Studios and actually, rescheduled for a later date. Health, comes first. The last thing you want to do is have an emergency w/out having your surgeon at arms length. If you decide to go, I'd locate a WLS clinic that would be willing to see you, if the need was there. Hopefully all will go well, but you just never know.

Factor 75 - wow, this looks like THE ANSWER!

Alright, I don't live by the reviews of others, but I feel if they all follow the same suit, something within the complaint is valid. I'm still reading, but initially, this looks like a great plan.

Before the surgery, I was a huge lover of Plated. I will check out what you presented, I'm always up for a healthy meal plan, thanks for sharing!

why did i bother to tell my friends UGH

"Oh my goodness, you never looked like you weighed 400 pounds!" That was the most common thing said, in my case. When I started the process of the surgery, I was more than happy to share my plans, including my ultimate goals. I had so much support, heck, support I didn't even expect. I track my journey on my FB and Instagram, you'd be amazed at how many people will continuously walk the walk with you and encourage the progress you're making. A part of who I am is my journey, I'll never keep that hidden. Live to be an example!
