To eat daily, or not to eat...EGGS!
heycrystal2052 replied to heycrystal2052's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
What fiber heavy foods, do you usually eat? After reading a previous thread, I've decided to buy a fiber supplement. To be honest, I never paid attention to the stuff. -
To eat daily, or not to eat...EGGS!
heycrystal2052 replied to heycrystal2052's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@James Marusek "I also consume 2 or 3 Adkin’s treats each day for their fat content and to satisfy my sweet tooth." How much fat should be be getting daily? I will admit, this is something I never pay attention to. Are fats like carbs, "good ones vs. the bad"? Great idea, I too feel one egg isn't enough, but I hate to waste food so I've learned to deal with it or I'll add more veggies to fill me up. I never thought about getting bigger eggs, I sure will do that now. @Introversion In my egg, I'll usually add turkey sausage, spinach, and a touch of cheese. I'm just so afraid of eating oatmeal, I've almost lost interest in it all together. -

I will admit, that was the only real worry I had. Thankfully, my gall bladder, almost two years later, seems to be just fine. I don't see why it would be done during the process of the surgery, why remove something that's not broken. Ya know? -

I'm curious, my Dr. said eating an egg daily, isn't something he wants to see. It seems as if, a lot of people on this site eat them daily. Oh, the confusion. lol -

This is what caused me to further look into the protein drinks. -

Oh, how I miss pork chops, but for some odd reason, my cravings are no longer for them. I don't really care for pork chops or beef anymore, I wonder how I will tolerate them if I tried it anyway. Hmmmm -
What influences the foods a person chooses and how much that person eats?
heycrystal2052 replied to Bits's topic in Food and Nutrition
Ah, I thought you were asking for yourself. If that's the case, I'd go with A. I'm surprised, they let you take the questionnaire home, to me, that's takes away from the eval. -

To be honest, if they're on the FDA's radar for the ingredients used, I'd rather stay away from that product. Removing them from my daily use, is something I feel better doing. Knowing there are other products out there, that will give me the same outcome, I have no problem w/ making the needed adjustment. DATEM, as a whole, is not good for the body and is an ingredient that should not be consumed. If you choose to continue, please do. For me, this is a personal choice. -
I was just chatting w/ a support buddy and I realized how confused, I actually am when it comes to carbs. I know this answer will be different per person, but just as a general question, how many carbs per day, do you allow yourself? When counting those carbs, do we count the good carbs w/ the bad, does the amount of fiber erase some of the carbs? I'm flippin', confused!

Protein Drink Evaluations

Inspire is through Bariatriceating, I like it, but I tend to make shakes only on the weekend. A little will go a long way for me, so the price doesn't bother me as much, as it used to. -
I lost 50 pds in two months, how are you sure your weight loss will stop? This may sound silly, but could there be a chance you'll lose too much weight?

Clothing shopping constant weight loss

No way, I'm so proud of my loss. Forget the clips and get new and smaller sizes. Although, in the beginning, I would have loved this for my shirts. lol -
Clothing shopping constant weight loss

I refused to shop at the thrift stores in the beginning, it took a $200 purchase (pants) at the Avenue and me growing out of the pants two weeks after...that finally convinced me to shop at a consignment shop. Bra's, panties, and shirts, obviously, I still pay regular price for. I've found a new web consignment shop Swap.com, I LOVE THEM!!!! -

I researched that after reading about the hoopla on here, this is one I'll stay away from. Thankfully, I tend to stick to a Protein Powder and I don't stray. Inspire works for me. -
Protein Drink Evaluations

That drink looks delicious, my only question, is that the protein we need? I've found in some protein drinks, it sadly, isn't the protein that our bodies can absorb. Of course those drinks, are the ones I really like and can tolerate. lol -

After many organizations were called out for their misleading collections/funding (Goodwill, Salvation..etc), I no longer give to them or shop in their stores. However, I agree w/ your post. I now give to the Mission in my city, I couldn't imagine doing anything else with my clothes. -
What influences the foods a person chooses and how much that person eats?
heycrystal2052 replied to Bits's topic in Food and Nutrition
This really has one answer. YOU! YOU choose what will influence you, YOU choose to fail, YOU choose to succeed. I feel, when you consider all of the other factors, you're building reasons to make excuses when you're responsible for it all. It all started w/ YOU and only YOU can determine how this whole process will work for you. -

What Kind of Weight Loss Surgery Is Best for Me? (Part 1)
heycrystal2052 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Oh wow, to be honest, when I planned to have the surgery I didn't bother to research all options. I went in wanting the Sleeve and thankfully, my surgeon felt that was the best thing as well. When it came to the Sleeve, I was fully versed. Although, he did remove 80% of my stomach, not the standard 75%. I hope that's not a bad thing. -

Eh, we must pick and choose our battles and the battle of an ill stated opinion, isn't one for me to take on. In most cases, I stick to that. lol I do, however, have my random exceptions.
